Quick and reasonable! We take all our vehicles there to get smog checks done! I called ahead of time on a Tuesday around 3 PM to see if they can take me, was told yes come on by. Presented my coupon from the website when I got into the office, within 15 minutes from when I got there, I was checked in and my car was getting smog checked. Ilyas the owner is always friendly, professional and polite. There's a cute little taco truck next door you can get something to eat or drink while you wait if you are so inclined. Sent one of my vehicle to get smog at this place. Failed my vehicle cause apparently he can SMELL fuel leak. Did a full tune up on this vehicle prior to bringing vehicle in. IM readiness was all on point but guy there failed my smog because he can smell a fuel leak. Then he had the audacity to tell my guy to bring it back and he will charge me a discounted rate. So I brought my van back to my shop and inspected fuel tank area where he claims he could SMELL leak in that area and I didn't see any indication of any sort of leaks. Don't get ripped off by this place. There's a couple smog shop in both direction from this smog shop, take your vehicles there. I've used them multiple times with all of our company fleets. My guy just decided to give this place a try and what a joke. read more

Five Star Smog is a star certified testing facility. Service is first come first serve (no appointments), so I recommend calling ahead to check wait times if you're in a hurry. Staff is knowledgeable and greets you quickly after walking in the door. There are comfortable couches in the waiting area. The test took about 20 minutes to complete from the time I arrived to the time I left. read more

I had a good experience here. I needed a smog check done and my car had been having issues with the engine check light being tripped on and off. I usually don't wait until the last minute to do the smog check, but I did this time because I wanted to sort out any issues with my car first. When I drove over, my check engine light wasn't on this time (this was after I went to my mechanic to make sure everything that needed to be fixed was done). So, I stopped by and when the gentleman got behind the wheel of my car to bring it in for the test, apparently my check engine light had come on again. He could have easily taken my car in, failed it, and charged me the money. Instead, he parked it and came in to tell me to have it fixed first. I came back again and had the smog check done quickly and efficiently. Now, this place is my first choice for a smog check. read more

Total rip off. Went there to get my car smog checked. I walked in with one of their coupons and handed it to the gentleman behind the counter. He looked out the window at my car and said the coupon was no good, that luxury cars are at least $60.00 plus certificate. I walked out and went to Kwik Smog on El Camino Real and was only charged $25.75 plus certificate. I went to 5 star a few years ago and was not charged $60.00. I am not sure what his motivation was. read more

All Smog is test only. All smog is small, 2 bay, but plenty of parking. When run with 2 employees things run smooth, but with 1 it's a little slow. Since the test takes up the most of the time it's up to the people to arrange their line up. They sometimes run specials, but their price is ok. Speed at which they test is something like 20 minutes. I got there and saw 3 people walk in and finish in under an hour so if speed and time is of the essence go for it. Don't be alarmed as they do have to put your car through it's paces, but the read-outs are a little hard to decipher where you actually stand on things, pass fail, no diagnosis or repair. They also recently did some renovations and it doesn't look so run down. read more

Was recommended to come here to get my truck smogged and the guy refused for an invalid reason. He claims that California will give him a bad review if he passes my truck. I have a 1995 Toyota truck, sure it's old and I had to do some repairs to get it to pass. All those things were done! Regardless of he claims, he said " if my truck passes today and next year he smogs it and it doesn't pass California will give him a bad review" he claims his station will look bad. Be aware, thiefs are here ! They tried to charge me twice ! First time they said my battery was unconnected for a long time and they were not able to finish the test (everything was ok but some informations were missing). They charge me and they told me to come back after 50/60 miles to finish. I did I returned today to finish and obtain the certificate, but surprise another guy asked me to pay again before to proceed I tried to explain the first guy told me to come back to read two missing informations, the test was already done. A1 Smog up the street who I have used for years was a pile of burned rubble when I arrived?? I pulled up Google Maps for the closest smog station and it directed be to Five Star. Not the cheapest but they gave be a break when I asked for a deal and I was out of the place in 15 minutes total (Weekday at 2pm).
