We did a complete renovation of the pool and patio. We also expanded the pool cage to give us additional living space. Before we moved forward with hiring ANY company I did my due diligence. Surprisingly with all of the research that I did and the amount of time I invested in doing it I could only come up with three pool companies that I would even consider giving such a large job to. Roman won the job. I got a pretty good vibe from him and I also appreciated his honesty when I had questions... I already knew the answers, I just wanted to see if he would answer them honestly which he did. We made our 10% deposit some time in September and they came out to start the job in mid December. The delay was waiting on the permits from the county. We needed permits for the footers for the cage expansion. Otherwise I don't think there would have been such a delay in starting. This type of renovation moves along pretty quickly. Andrew (foremen) was present often throughout the project. He was also very quick to respond to text messages from us, usually within minutes. This was a big job so I expected some issues to arise from time to time. We did run into two issues, the first was the footer. Once I found the problem I texted Andrew, he responded very quickly. He sent Chris out that same day then he came out the next morning. The problem was corrected that week. The second problem was the underground plumbing. My advice to anyone doing a cage extension is locate all the underground plumbing first and mark it so anyone on the job will know what area to avoid when digging or jackhammering. This issue was also corrected very quickly. Andrew kept lines of communication open, he didn't try to hide or brush us off he sent his plumber out that day and it was fixed within 24 hours. When we made the decision to renovate our pool and cage we had no idea just how important that decision would turn out to be. Our beautiful new pool area has been used everyday since we all went on lockdown. We have dinner together every night under the composite roof, sometimes with the fan on sometimes with it off... it's up to us (and the heat index). It's turned out to be an excellent escape room for at least one of when we start to get on each other's nerves, or we each have our own spot out here that's far enough away from one another to take a breather and let the tension melt away.

We signed our contract in November 2020 and our project was supposed to begin March 1, 2021 but actually began the week of April 19, 2021. We are now 13+ weeks into a standard pool remodel which was originally committed to be done in 6 weeks. There is no finishing in sight. They have no urgency whatsoever and don't care that we've been under construction for months. There have been weeks where no one shows up to do any work. They delivered travertine to my home and let it sit on pallets in my driveway for months before they actually began my project. There have been disruptions in the supply chain but my materials were ordered and received well in advance. While this company has good hardworking people, the management and ownership is absolutely terrible. They updated their "What to Expect" notice and never communicated proactively to customers. They do things very sneaky and you learn about it later vs being transparent throughout the process. They give you the best price up front but add costs later that were never discussed initially. They put every charge in separate invoices so you never know what you are actually spending - clearly a trick to gain more money from customers. They take zero responsibility for any mistake or miscommunication. They failed to order enough waterline tile for what I requested and blame me for the issue when I have documentation showing otherwise! They refuse to fix any mistakes and never actually work towards alignment on issues. Katie is the absolute worst person I've ever had to deal with in a remodeling project. She offers zero value in my opinion and doesn't offer any assistance in selection of materials. Perhaps it's not her fault as she isn't experienced in all of the product lines and design options available in the market. You are essentially on your own for the entire project. Andrew, the Project Manager responds quickly but never actually inspects or validates information. The tile installer cut too much of the travertine paver around our spa when installing waterline tiles which created a very large grout line that looks terrible. The travertine over the spa was not installed properly (corners and angles). Both workers were great and worked so hard but there are mistakes that need to be fixed and I don't trust that Five Star will actually fix anything. The spa spillover was not cut evenly (one side is longer than the other verified by measurement). There are rust spots on our travertine and I'm being told that is part of the "curing process" which doesn't make sense considering the rust is there from the workers leaving their tools and chairs all over the place. I have paid on time and when asked for something, I've followed through on their requirements but they don't follow through on their commitments. This is absolutely not a five star company even though their name suggests. We have to continually follow up to find out where the workers are and push to get anything done. This company has taken on more projects than they can handle and I would strongly advise anyone from using them in the future. I don't think this company is honest and do not trust them after having so many issues over the last 6+ months. In the end, our project cost more than the best pool company in town! Photo 1 shows the rust and Photo 2 shows the extremely large grout-line which was done in error by time installer as well as incorrect corners and angles of travertine. This should all be fixed fairly easy as nothing is perfect but I don't trust Five Star to actually take the initiative to make it right. I will have to fight for them to correct it because that's the kind of company this is.

The Westchase Community Association has another Olympic pool with 6 Tennis Courts off Countryway Boulevard and Linebaugh Avenue but that pool is in use on weekdays by a swim team from 3-7pm and the pool is only open until 8pm. Luckily the pool off Parley is not in use by a swim team during the weekdays. The Westchase Community Association has 3 well maintained parks & 3 kids playgrounds. The pools are open 10:00 am to 8:00 pm year round and the tennis courts are open 8am to 9pm. The pool is heated in the winter and cooled in the summer. The tennis courts are home to recreational and USTA league play, private lessons, clinics, after-school programs, summer camps, junior and adult tennis lessons, group lessons, and tournament play. On two of the 6 courts at Countryway are 4 pickleball courts. The Westchase Community Association charges a monthly Home Owners Association fee of $384 per year for a 3 bedroom house, $324 for a 3 bedroom townhouse, and $242 per month for a 2 bedroom townhouse which is pretty reasonable. Westchase is surrounded by mature oaks on land dotted with lakes and ponds, one has the feeling of being tucked away in a pristine section of Hillsborough County but the community is far from isolated. The West Park Village retail area features restaurants, bars, and eclectic shops designed in the neotraditional style: pedestrian-friendly and densely populated, reminiscent of early-American mixed-use town centers. And Westchase neighborhoods are just a quick drive to supermarkets, popular eateries, pharmacies, and every other convenience you need. Niche.com honors Westchase with an A+ rating as the Number 1 suburb in the Tampa Bay area!

Came here for a wedding actually. As a rule I have a great distaste for country clubs because of…read morethe snoot factor. This place is no different. It has a well manicured 18 hole golf course, nine more holes (27 total) gym, two pools, tennis courts and all that. It also has a clubhouse which is the focus of my review. First off, this is the ugliest clubhouse I've ever entered. Think Little Rascals He Man Woman Hater's Club if you're that much into club houses. Ugly brown crown molding, ratty carpeting, ugly beige walls and exposed wood ceilings. The lobby looks like a mausoleum too. After the ceremony in a non cool room (idiots turned on the heat by mistake), we were sent into the reception area, which was the south room and adjoining spaces. At least they actually had on the AC in here. Open bar and passed canapés as one would expect. Some of these canapés including bacon wrapped scallops stand out because they were AWFUL!! I almost spit out the spinach pie; I should've known better when I saw them drizzled with heaven knows what. Scallops over cooked and lousy...at least there was an open bar. After two dark rum and colas, I even had enough of that; cheap lo-rent swill. Salad was simple mixed greens with a slice of cuke, some red onion and a couple of CHILLED cherry tomatoes. Well, there was the next sign that the kitchen doesn't know what it's doing. Tomatoes are supposed to be room temperature; period. Dressing stop said salad was nondescript. For entrees the Queen Bee had crab stuffed grouper and I had filet mignon. Filet was bland but had a halfway decent demiglaze with it. Queen Bee didn't care for her grouper. Everyone else at the table seemed more or less okay with it. To be fair, I didn't try the stuff. Both entrees were accompanied by overcooked asparagus and bland rice pilaf. Blech! I'm sure the wedding party paid good money for this stuff. If this is any sign of how their dining rooms are, then kindly include me OUT of this club. I'd rather graze on the grass from the 10th fairway. The desserts you see are provided by an outside bakery so nothing to say here. Not really much worthwhile or positive to say about having a function here, either. Have it at Chuck E. Cheese or a bowling alley instead! Eh!!

The equipment is there, sure, but half of it looks like it's been through a few natural disasters. Dumbbells scattered around like someone yelled "every man for himself," machines squeaking like haunted house props, and cardio equipment that should come with a prayer instead of a start button. The locker rooms? Imagine a middle school bathroom after dodgeball, except you're paying for the privilege. Showers that smell like regret, lockers that may or may not lock, and towels thinner than conspiracy theories. Staff is hit or miss. Some are friendly, most look like they're one membership complaint away from walking out. And don't even get me started on the "personal trainers" who seem more interested in texting than training. Two stars because it's still a gym. You can technically lift weights and sweat here. But if you're looking for inspiration, motivation, or even basic cleanliness, look elsewhere.
