On my 2010 Equinox had some idiot lights for ABS, Traction Control and AWD off. Left my car at the dealer for a week and they said that they couldn't get the lights to come on. Before dropping my car off the lights were on continuously. When we picked up our car, the lights came on as soon as we started it. I don't think they wanted to be bothered with trying to resolve the problem. Not impressed. read more

The short story: terrible customer service and questionable competence. Should rename themselves to "One Star Motors". Had a problem with our vehicle and was advised that the steering gear assembly needed to be replaced. The service department was unable to obtain the part, so they gave me the part number so I could search for it myself. In my search I found the part in less than 15 minutes, but noticed there was also a "power steering assist motor" listed so I contacted the service department to ask if I needed that part as well. The service manager, Victor, told me yes, I should go ahead and buy it. So we take our vehicle in for service and give them both the parts, but the motor doesn't get used because there was ALREADY a motor included as part of the steering gear assembly. I'm not a mechanic. There's no reason I should have known that. But that's something the service manager should have known before recommending I buy the part. Now I have a $500 part I can't return because that retailer won't allow returns of electronic components, even unused. Given that I was told YES, buy this part, and then it was not needed, the right thing to do would be for the service manager to take responsibility for erroneously making that recommendation and buy the part from me. Instead, he blame shifts and tells me I should have known the steering gear assembly already had the motor on it, and refuses any sort of accountability. Additionally, every time we have work done there, there's something new wrong with the vehicle when we get it back. This time, there's a "power assist reduced drive with care" message that comes up every time the vehicle is started, as well as some electrical malfunctions that were not occurring prior to the repair of the steering assembly. Last time, they messed up the TPMS system, which luckily discount tire was able to fix without issue. And good luck getting them to fix anything they messed up, because they won't take accountability for that either, it's always just a coincidence. Take your money literally anywhere else, this place is awful. read more

I own a fleet car which is Chevy Cruize. Since I've received and use it for work and personal use, I've bring it back here to 5 Star Chevy to have all of the Maintenance performed by these guys. I think highly of these guys at 5 Star Chevy service department. They never talk down to me, which has been my experience at other dealerships in Puyallup, Olympia, Tacoma, and Everett, WA. I get the full tire rotation, oil and oil filter change, fluids and brakes checked every time. Let me tell you, these 5 star service staff are PHENOMENAL! And EFFICIENT. They have great service hours, fresh coffee while you're waiting, a transport van waiting if you want to drop off your car or truck and need a ride to work or home. And they'll come pick you up. I'm considering a pick up truck in the near future. I'm considering stopping in to shop for my new truck here. If you plan to stop in and get your car maintained? Stop in and ask for Victor Fox in the service department and I'm sure he'll hook you up! read more

September 2010 - My 2002 Rendezvous was overheating, but there were no coolant spots on my driveway. I took it to the FiveStar Buick dealership. They called after a while and said I needed a new radiator and that it was leaking profusely, and coolant was leaking all over. I went to see, and there was a green puddle under my car. I looked underneath and there was green coolant dripping from the radiator in one spot. The only problem is that my car used DEX-COOL which is reddish orange, not green. I pointed that out to them, and they denied putting the green coolant there. Sounds like fraud to me. I wrote to the Service Manager, but never got a response. On the same visit, they were supposed to repair my air conditioner. They charged me $172.94 merely to recharge the system. When I asked if they repaired it, they said it is working fine. By the time I arrived home, it was blowing warm air. Had it repaired at another shop. I had another vehicle that I took there in the past and had major work done to the engine because they said it needed it. I wonder if they really did anything. read more

These guys are efficient and know their stuff. They can fix anything. My only issue is price. I was told a $104 to find the noise/problem. Guess it was a wheel bearing. They were able to fix it, but charged me $545. Beware that the mechanics must make $100 an hour. I'm sure they only use GM replacement parts that cost 3 times the price you find online. If you like high pressure sales, bribery, and attempts to squeeze every dime they can from you, then this is the dealership for you! I was very interested in a new car they had advertised and was set to make a deal, provided I got a reasonable price for my trade-in. I was dealing with a very nice salesman, Mike. He got a credit app from me, we looked up the Kelly Blue Book value, and he took the keys to my car to a sales manager for an evaluation. The manager came back after looking at my car and made an offer of about $11,000, considerably under trade-in value, claiming that they would have to service and detail the car to the tune of about $1,200. He stated my car would be hard for them to sell since it had been in an accident (I was rear-ended with very minor damage several years ago.) Additionally, he tried a bit of smoke and mirrors on me, claiming that I was saving about $1,000 in sales tax by trading in my car instead of selling it outright, so that actually increased the amount of their offer. Oh, please. I left without a deal and the sales manager said he would talk to his used car manager to see if he could get more for my car. Before I got home, he had called back and said he was able to get $13,500 for the car. I again declined his offer so he said, and here is where the bribery comes in, that if I agreed to give them perfect ratings when contacted by the manufacturer, he would give me an additional $500 for the car. In the next 24 hours I received no less than 5 phone calls from 4 different people at the dealership trying to talk me into the car, even though I had told the salesman no deal. This whole incident reminded me of the stereotypical car dealers of old, where you better make sure you held onto your wallet when you walked into the dealership. I won't go back to Five Star. I prefer to work with a dealership that treats their customers fairly from the start. And a disclaimer. This is all my opinion based on my experience. read more

This review is long overdue but I need to thank everyone at Five Star that really helped me and my family out during the summer when our Chevy Express bus broke down on our road trip. We had a long trip ahead of us (back to NJ with lots of stops in between) and we needed to get back on the road as soon as possible. Victor Fox and his team worked really hard to help us and Victor was so patient and kind. We ended up with a bill almost exactly what we were quoted. I had issues with my 2012 Dodge Journey in the first year I owned it. My car would randomly not start and then the next day or days later it might start. I had my car towed to Five Star 3 times and drove it there two other times and they either could not get it to repeat the problem or didn't get to it when it wasn't starting. They said it was a weak battery but after paying almost $500 to replace the battery the next day it would not start. My car was in the shop waiting between 15-20 days. After five times of returning the car my brother took it to his house and had the problem fixed in less than 15 minutes. The battery cable had corrosion and the cable was not tightened onto the battery post. They made me feel like I was stupid and didn't believe what I was saying to them until one day one of the mechanic came to my house and was unable to start it for himself. It sees to me a mechanic would check the basics first thing. My family has done lots of business with them and I have baught multiple cars and I am at the point where I don't want to do business with them any longer. Oh and the extended warranty has never done me any good. When I bought my vehicle I was told it covered anything bumper to bumper which is not a true statement. read more

About four years ago I stopped by Five Star Chevrolet in Aberdeen, Wa. (Presently Oct. 2015) Should have written this review years ago but am currently in the market for a new car and am only now writing this. I wouldn't even bother but since it was the most insulting and unpleasant experience of any dealership I've dealt I feel I must write this. After I drove into their lot a Salesman was there as soon as I got out of my car. (but of course). I mentioned that some sales people actually run out as soon as you drive on to their lot. He mentioned that he did and that I almost ran him over!!?? I didn't see him. Besides why is he trying to run in harms way??? (Give me a chance to walk around and breathe before you jump all over me trying to make a sale). But this isn't the main bad thing. After negotiating I told him what I wanted for my trade in. Then the Sales Manager came to our table and showed me something I had never experienced before. And I have dealt with several auto dealerships in my life time. And every dealership would look at my trade in and quote a price. Not this manager. He had scribbled some numbers on ratty looking scrap paper. Then explained he had to take of this amount for this and this amount for that, etc., etc. Got the trade in price down to about $2,700. I wanted $5,500. Never before have I experienced such a sleezy attempt to low ball a trade in price. UNBELIEVABLE then and still to this day I shake my head in disbelief. Some months later I bought a new SUV from a dealership in Olympia, Wa. Got my $5,500 trade in price with no problem. No "got to spend this much to fix this. This much for that, etc." Just gave me what I asked for trade in price. I summary, I wouldn't buy a tricycle from Five Star Chevrolet. The salesman still didn't give up. As I was getting in my car to leave he asked me if I wanted to go look at the same vehicle again. WHAT?? Didn't you get the hint? I just told him that the way his sales manager presented his offer for my trade in was "Just Plain Chicken Sh-----!!!! If I could give this dealership a minus star rating I certainly would. read more

We broke down in our 2004 Chevy Aveo in Aberdeen, on Valentines day. We had to have the car towed to the dealership. Our timing belt had broke, The mechanic told us we could get the head milled and a few other parts and the car would be fixed. When we picked up the car the repairs came to almost $2,300. and it broke down less than a month later. We took it to another Five star in Chehalis Wa. They called us in and told us to bring a camera. When we got there he showed us our "milled" head. All the did was use a scouring pad on it and charged us stating it was sent out to a machine shop. The valves were not seated, the were metal flakes in our oil and oil filter. They agreed to pay for the labor and stuff at the Chehalis garage, if we paid for a new head.We agreed. Now that the work is done they will only pay the labor. Making us have to pay another $1200. for their screw-up. SWEET!! We paid $4500. for the car in October of 2011 from Titus Will in Olympia now we have another $3500. in repairs. Got to love mechanics who don't do their job. BEWARE of this REPAIR SHOP read more
