The employee said it needed a total engine rebuild. "What?" 5 star took the engine apart to diagnose the problem, which they said was a timing chain break which destroyed some of the engine. The $1,100 charge was strictly for a diagnosis not repair. They gave him the impression it was gonna be repaired since they were gonna order the parts it needed. In the beginning they never mentioned this was strictly a diagnosis. Pay attention to the language they use. Who's gonna spend a ton of money for an engine rebuild for a 2017 Hyundai with 140,000 miles?
