After reading some of the reviews I was a bit leery about getting a massage here, but the poor reviews couldn't be more wrong. I had an hour massage with Julie (Swedish aromatherapy) and it was fantastic! In the last 15 years I've had a lot of massages with about 10 different masseuses, and she ranks right in the top. Her massage even rivaled a massage I received at a top ranked spa in the Caribbean which was three times as expensive. Julie did a phenomenal job - from the pressure in her hands, to the atmosphere in the room, to allowing me to choose the oil which appealed most to my olfactory sense. Thank you Julie!! At reception I was greeted immediately and warmly, and was ushered into their waiting area for just a few minutes where I was given a beverage of my choice and also got to indulge in their chocolate fountain (a nice touch!). Needless to say I will be visiting this spa again!! read more

Great! It was my first time there. The girl who cut my hair was really quiet, which didn't work for me, because I'm a quiet person as well (lol) But she did a good job and my boyfriend even said he loved it. However, the girl seemed a little confused/surprised when I gave her a tip... Do they not accept tips?! I don't know.. They're pretty pricey for my cheap taste, but I will be back for sure. read more

Negative star. Worst spa experience ever. They claim to use lovely organic products yet the staff uses thick rubber dish-washing gloves while they work on you; even for the pedicures! Ouch! The place is small and more like an overpriced Cost Cutter than a nice spa with overcrowded spaces and chatty attendants running everywhere. The negative energy in the environment just adds to the rough touch of the rubber gloves and the confusion of it all. Someone with a gloved hand left a chemical burn on my brand new leather boots and the owner basically told me, "buyer beware." Probably also explains the rest of the complaints about this disaster zone. I only visited the place because I have purchased a few gift certificates for co-workers here and wanted to test it for myself. Now I owe those friends big time for sending them into what can only be descibed as a horrible experience. I guarantee I won't do that again. Save yourself, your money and your personal belongings and visit Natural Concepts Salon & Day Spa or Serenity Day Spa; both in Peoria. read more

I started going here when it opened, shocking to find out the only one time my hair was not done correctly they brush me away, only too see all my money spent in the salon and spa etc didn't matter anymore. They couldn't budge on a color bowl to cover my highlights. Ended my long term loyalty today 13 years. The manager, told me I waited to long to let them know, 21/2 weeks was to long for a long term client., I'm sorry I didn't notice the back of my hair was not colored correctly and needed more product. I'm calling the BBB. Very unfair. And upsetting. read more

I had a very poor customer service experience at this spa. My sister, myself, and mother made reservtions a month before we would all be home together for the holidays and arrived for our appt to find out that our reservation had been lost. The girls at the desk acknolewedged they had a computer glitch and had lost about 4 days worth of reservations without knowing how to contact these people to let them know, and still they had no plan in place to compensate for their error. Unfortunately, they were also fully booked and therefore could not help us. Their only solution was to book another day (however two of us were from out of state), or to come back an hour and a half later to have pedicures (however we had orginally booked massages and pedicures). When asked if these would be done at a discount, the manager told us they would not. So, for losing our reservtions----we were offered a chance to have half of the services we had made reservations for done at FULL PRICE and later in the day. NO THANKS!!! I will certiainly not be giving them my business and would hope you know to do the same! read more

90 minutes minus 20 was how we started. A friend gave me a thoughtful present for $100 worth of service of my choice at Five Senses Spa. I added another $14 and made an appt. for a 90 minute facial. The spa is very pleasant when you enter, and I was greeted promptly. I arrived very early and was taken to the waiting room with the chocolate fountain. I was offered coffee, tea or water and enjoyed sitting in the room dipping pretzels into the fountain. A few minutes past my appt. time I was taken to a room to change into a robe then escorted back to the waiting area. After several more minutes my service provider introduced herself and took me to the room for my service. I was told to change into a terry cloth wrap and sit on the bed and she closed the door. That took less than 30 seconds to do. After several minutes and no one poked there head in to see if I was ready I opened the door just a crack to let them know I was ready. My service provider walked by and closed the door. Not a word was said to me. I sat there for another 7 or 8 minutes and opened the door even wider this time. All told it was about 20 minutes before my service provider returned, asking why the door was opened again. When she finally stayed in the room she told me that I was to put my feet in a tub of water that was on the floor when I first entered. I explained that the customer experience I had received so far was disappointing. At the very least if she had set the tub of water on the stool for me to soak my feet in when she first took me to the room I would have felt like I was BEGINNING to receive a service and would have found the very long wait a little more palatable. Once she began the service it was very good. Even if she had offered to go 20 minutes over my appointment it was disappointing as I had another appointment and needed to get out on time. Overall, this is a very nice spa with attractive decorations and a nice ambience. The prices reflect the high end overhead. As this was my first experience at this spa I am willing to try it again and may revise the # of stars. read more

Enjoyed an amazing beautifying body treatment and Vichy shower today, my skin has ever felt so incredibly soft. I highly recommend adding a Vichy shower to your treatment, a sensational experience! The staff were fantastic at every point of this service and the new salon was absolutely beautiful. I attended Five Senses Spa & Salon today for a 90 minute deep tissue massage while visiting my parents from Dallas only to receive the worst massage experience of my life. The poor experience started when I was in the "relaxation room" to the loud machine-like whirling of a chocolate fountain that promptly catalyzed a headache just prior to my massage. Once in the massage my masseuse, Darcy, was unable to ever reach the pressure I have had on every other massage. She went on to quickly ignore two of the three areas I specifically asked her to address, my gastrocnemius and it bands, while also leaving hot towels on me to the point they were frigid. Somewhere in this fiasco she also let her phone ring and the music die. Now an hour and change in to the massage she told me she had to leave due to being ill and let me sit for 10 minutes while I awaited another masseuse to finish who never introduced herself to me; although this massage was better quality it was rushed to finish within the 90 minutes. This was an absolutely miserable experience, one I'm surprised I actually paid for and I feel you should know as well prior to spending your $120 and tip. read more

I had a gift certificate for a $150. package. I did not receive all of the services. When I responded to a survey Five Senses sent me things went south. Then a person named Lynn called me and she was rude and basically said I lied. So I made a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Their response to the BBB was that I lied and had a $42. credit. I wouldn't walk back in there for all the money in the world. My friend should have the whole $150 refunded. read more

I had a 75 minute massage by Jason today. He targeted the smaller muscles & was able to work out the tension in specific muscles. Jason is new to Five Senses & I would recommend trying out his massages. The front desk was very prompt & friendly. read more

I recently had a pedicure at Five Senses. From the moment I walked in to the moment I left I was treated courteously and efficiently. My nail tech, Tasha, has helped me with 2 pedicures in the past and her work is top notch. She seems to take great pride in providing an excellent service. The atmosphere was relaxing and the pedicure was fear free (no worrying about what sharp tools were going to slice my calluses). I paid $45 for the elemental pedicure, which I believe is a great price for a pedicure plus a hot towel treatment, walnut exfoliating scrub, and foot massage. My toes look great! I highly recommend Tasha and Five Senses! read more

The gel manicure was horrible. I called back to complain about the lousy job and asked if I could come back for them to remove the polish. She did apologize and said the technician who worked with me was not a nail tech. Why would you schedule someone that doesn't do nails for a gel manicure? They told me to come in the next morning to have a manicure by an experienced nail tech. I should have opted for a removal only. It was a waste of my time again to sit through another bad manicure. You are likely to experience stress rather than relaxation at 5 Senses. I had a very negative experience at a group function for a friends bachelorette. Calling and getting information Alone you will get contrasting answers depending on who you talk to. The day of, none of the staff had it together. They were running around calling us one by one to get pedicures. They also messed up and cancelled one appointment and then would not actually provide the service and still made us pay for it though it was their mistake! I contacted them about this experience and they never contacted me back after several attempts. In general this place is pricey, unorganized and has horribly underwhelming unfriendly staff. read more

I am giving 2.5 stars only because the services provided were very good. My husband wanted to do something special for me for Christmas so he got me a spa day. He spent $300 and they told him I would have a complete spa day (6 hrs) and it went downhill from there. Someone at the spa called the house to ask questions about the appointment and let the cat out of the bag about my Christmas surprise since I took the phone call. I went to my appointment to find out they wrote me up as a cheaper, shorter package that did not include the services he was told I would have. When I asked one of the girls if they could add it for since he had more than paid for it but I was told there was no time. I was rushed thru the entire process. Not relaxing at all. I got a very good haircut and color for a lot of money. I am very disappointed and feel bad for my husband. read more

The location brought me to the salon. I will drive father to get better service. Everyone seems to just go through the motions, no excitement. I paid a high price to feel special and when I voiced my concerns the owner was very difficult and rude to work with. Never again will I go back to that place. My mother and I had the WORST pedicure experience here. We arrived 15 minutes early and reminded them about my previous phone call where I asked for a design with my pedicure and they said I was scheduled for that, no problem. Then,we went back for the pedicure and the water was cold, not warm at all. The towels weren't even plugged in to be heated up so we had to wait 10 minutes while they microwaved our towels. It was cold and noisy the whole time as well. My girl who was doing my pedicure acted like she didn't want to touch my feet or had never done a pedicure, and didn't speak to me once besides to tell me to "keep my feet flat so she can see" so rude. She was also rushed because she had another customer coming and kept walking away to see if her next customer was there. The french tip was a poor job by both girls and when I asked for them to do my SIMPLE bow design they said no one could do it and that it was too difficult. One of the employees then rudely cut my mom off when she was asking a question and then gave attitude. All that the front desk employees said they could do was "take 5$ off for the french tip" meanwhile I can't have the design I wanted for a 60$ pedicure I got for a wedding I am in. HORRIBLE and I will never go back for the rude employees and awful service. read more
