I stopped in first thing when they opened on a weekday so I was the only person getting a pedicure. I had an hour to kill before a lunch meeting nearby. I got a red gel pedi. I felt the time spent was sufficient and it was $70, same as what I pay for similar deluxe service at my regular salon in St Louis. The reason why I gave three stars is for hygiene. This place so blatantly reuses all the pedicure tools without washing and sanitizing. I understand many places are like this. If you look at their foot pumice pads, they are worn so far down that there are holes. They also use the metal blade style files that I thought aren't allowed. I don't mind them and use one at home but this is the first time I've seen one in a salon in years. Anyway, every tool she used, she simply rinsed it in my dirty pedi water and used the towel that my feet were on and dried them, then put them back in their little cubbies. So, I won't be going there again. read more

If you are from Peoria, Illinois, you know the saying, " Will it play in Peoria?" Well, yes it will. On April 27th my wife got up early Saturday morning and headed to a nail shop near the Shops of Grand Prairie. Mind you my wife and I were in Peoria, due to my 87-year-old mother, being in the hospital due to having a very scary and difficult surgery, in which we were not sure if she would make it through the surgery. I am originally from Peoria (born and raised), now living in Atlanta, GA, for 18 years and my wife is originally from New York. What happen to my Wife unfortunately was not surprising to me, but left her upset, sad and a feeling of, "did this really just happen. So what happened? My wife got up bright and early and headed to the nail shop to get her nails polished ONLY! Around 9:30 am, I received a call from her, and she was so frustrated, she arrived at the 1st nail shop, which was Liquid Glamor Nails. When she walked in, she was immediately told that they did not have time to do her nails, without even asking her what type of service she needed, keep in mind it was between 9am and 9:30am the shop was not busy. There were a few elderly white women in the shop. My wife, proceeded to ask, is it because you need an appointment? Their response was no, but we are busy today. She left and proceeded to the next shop, Aqua Nails, she pulled up and seen an Asian gentleman opening the shop, and she asked them do they take walk ins? He responded yes. When she came in the shop, a lady immediately stated, OH! we can't do acrylic nails today because the only person that does acrylic is not in today. My wife informed her that she just wants her nails polished. She proceeded to tell her that they would be unable to do it, and suggested another nail shop which was the very nail shop that told her they were TOO BUSY, Liquid Glamor Nails. It is so sad, however not surprising that this type of behavior still exists. The culture we live in today, some people are okay with wearing their racism on their sleeve. My wife was so shocked, however, being born and raised in Peoria, I was not shocked at all. I was very angered that she had to experience such blatant racism in a place where I call home. I would suggest to Liquid Glamor Nails and Aqua Nails to be very careful and not be so comfortable turning customers away because of the color of the skin. I told my wife that, they turned you away not because of the content of your character, but the color of your skin. SCAMMERS! Do not buy gift cards from these salons. They owners change management and then refuse to honor them. I give a gift card for Mothers Days, purchased May 2023 and in June 2023, AQN would not honor it. I spoke with Angel who explained that they were told in April that AQN owner told them to leave by June 1. They continued to sell gift cards (tons of them, I'm sure) and did not disclose they would not be honored after May 2023. My family gave Angel our business for years. She refused to honor or refund the gift card and said there was nothing she could do. This unethical business has been reported to the BBB. Also, the pedi chairs are old and function poorly. Service is inconsistent and rushed. They rush application of polish layers, put on too thick, causing polish to scuff, even hours after application. Do NOT SUPPORT this unethical business. If you were scammed a gift card, report to the BBB. It's a pretty quick process. read more

Do not recommend. Not only did I spend a long time getting these acrylics done but I paid $70!!! I left a reference photo and what I left with and as you can see these are two different things. I wanted a round shape instead of the square and asked the lady multiple times to round out the top of my nails and they are like daggers. The pedals are nothing like what I asked for and one of the flowers is even missing a pedal! 0/10 do not recommend. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

It was a clean place to go too. If you really like having someone to talk to while getting your nails done. They really didn't say much to us. But one that wasn't doing anything did show me what she was taking about with one of the workers. They were really nice about us showing up a little late but they were also not really busy at all. I went with a friend and she wanted matte black nails and they ran out of matte so she had to do gel. Instead of them taking of the matte they just went over it with gel so it feels a little wonky. When I first went in they told me they wouldn't do acrylic nails with dip polish, so I agreed to just do dip. We picked out the colors and one nail was supposed to have a gold sparkled tip, she dipped my whole nail gold and then said she couldn't take it off or redo it how I wanted. I feel like if I had been told at the very beginning she wasn't able to put gold sparkles over a color I would have just went somewhere else. I was told no and then VERY rudely canceled the appointment I just made. I was told to leave. In Illinois right now there is a mandatory indoor mask requirement. Worse pedi I've ever had. Came home and had to use a paddle on my heals because they did not get the dry Skin off. Nail polish on my toes around my nails. Nails were cut crooked and I had to file them when I got home. The person doing my pedi actually took a personal call (which she kept saying "you have The wrong number" but kept talking to them while doing my pedi. Best manis and pedis I've ever received. You will rarely get in as a walk in- but it's worth planning ahead and making an appointment. All of them are do great work. Also, they sanitize equipment and are meticulous about cleanliness. I used to be worried about nail fungus at other places (after a friend who lives in a different state told me she got a toenail fungus from her nail salon) ...but I never worry here! I'm still shocked from how rude the staff were. I walked in - no appointment - so I expected to wait. There were 4 customers in the salon for three technicians. I waited 2 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge my presence - although the staff was less than 5 feet away from me - and politely asked if the salon had time for a gel manicure. The response was "no time now and no time today." When I stated I would wait, I got a firmer "no" and a gesture towards the door. I wouldn't recommend for my dog's manicure. I love coming to see Sherry for my acrylic nail appointments; she is extremely helpful and does an amazing job with making my acrylics look clean and natural while also lasting for a long time. I got my acrylics done from her about a month and a half ago and have had one fill (going to get my second one today) and have not had a single break or even lift in between appointments! I do not recommend this place. They do an OK job with pedicures (are pretty slow though) but I got a manicure and within a few days it started messing up. I also asked the technician to not buff my nails because they are weak and break easily and she was very upset and rude about it. Went to get a gel manicure for Mother's Day. This place was wonderful! The owners were so sweet and personable. They use bonding on the nail prior to the base coat to prevent peeling and to help the manicure last longer. They use acetone and foil to remove the old gel and keep your nails strong instead of using the drill. My manicure even came with a quick neck and shoulder massage. Great experience! I don't get my nails done too often, but usually get white tip acrylics when I do. Had a very positive experience with Sherri. Have ghone 3 times within 1 month. Due to a previous engagement the first day, I did nails and pedicure on different days. Did refill after 3 weeks. Just be prepared to be asked about extra services (which cost EXTRA as well).....I made appointments all 3 times due to my experience at another salon.
