Fried Chicken Sandwich (Hot) and Macaroni Salad.

I recently tried the Fried Chicken Sandwich (Hot) and Macaroni Salad at the King and Bathurst location, which appears to be a ghost kitchen set up (they are serving out of "The Paddock Tavern"). Ordering through Ritual, the food took about 20 minutes to prepare and the pickup was unsurprisingly smooth. This was a great Nashville style chicken sandwich but it was not without its faults. The Good: the chicken portion was generous and juicy (they use chicken thigh); the breading was crispy (despite a 15 min walk home in the middle of winter); the sandwich was properly spicy and the ranch sauce was particularly good; the pickles were thick, sweet, and a good balance to the spiciness. The coleslaw was good but didn't really standout, which is fine as the chicken should be the star of this show. The Bad: the bread was a little on the thin side (for Texas toast) and it was a bit stale; the chicken could have been seasoned a bit more (the breading was seasoned nicely but the chicken itself I felt could have used a little more seasoning before it was breaded). The Macaroni salad was pretty decent overall, with nice pieces of pickles throughout to give you a pop of sweetness to balance out the creaminess and spice of the sauce. Yes, this mac salad had a bit of spice, although it was very moderate. I enjoyed the green onion garnish. Overall this was a solid Nashville style chicken sandwich, looking forward to trying some of their other offerings in the future.

Looks like I found my new favourite fried chicken place. I discovered Five Points through an article on the hottest foods in Toronto and just had to try their Devil's Breath, which is supposed to have Carolina Reapers. The place is known for chicken sandwiches ("sandos") but they have 2 for 1 legs/thighs on Mondays (and the same for crinkle fries). So far I have eaten half of it and I can say that it does have a kick but definitely not the hottest thing I have ever eaten. Still, it is excellent...the breading is perfect in terms of crunchiness and thickness and the chicken is cooked well too. I recommend them.

As a frequent Nashviller, I have hot chicken (Hattie B's, Prince's, etc.) on a regular basis so I'm a bit surprised that the rating isn't higher for Five Points. I usually come here when I need a hot chicken fix while I am in Toronto. Similar to popular Nashville hot chicken joints, they have multiple levels of spiciness. I've only tried the Hot and Devil's Breath spice levels. The first time I tried Hot, it wasn't spicy at all. After some time, I decided so give the joint another shot with my friends and I ordered the Devil's Breath. Wow, was it spicy. One of my friends got Extra Hot and it caused some excessive sweating and swollen mouths so I would only recommend these flavours to someone who can really handle their spice. The service is a bit slow though. They do not premake the chicken batters so you will be waiting around an hour from the time you place your order to when you receive your food. Expect even higher wait times if you are here during the weekend during peak hours. The staff are pretty nice as they kindly provided me with some milk when I was tearing up from the Devil's Breath chicken. The layout of the store is also pretty weird. Five Points is located inside the bar called Open House so it was a bit hard for us to find it initially. You also have to pay for the bar and chicken separately.

13 bucks for a breast... Very expensive. Wasn't busy, about 25 minutes for the piece of chicken. Huge fries for 5 bucks. Medium was very hot (wuss).

I ordered this because I was missing Nashville Hot Chicken. Given the name of the restaurant I thought it would be similar to Nashville's version however I was very disappointed it was not. My chicken tenders did not come with that authentic tasting Nashville hot sauce that gives them that unique taste. My chicken was very dry. It wasn't bad, just wasn't really as advertised. It definitely could not pass as the real thing. The French fries were also very dry.

Damn good Sammich! Love the crinkle fries. I've had the Jalapeño Popper Chicken on white bread several times. It has always been very good.

The best Nashville-style chicken I've had in Toronto. It was crispy, juicy and not overly greasy. Will definitely return.

Absolutely horrible coating on the chicken. Very oily and tastes overwhelmingly like cinnamon. Had to throw out the whole box.

Overall, my experience was alright. Nothing screamed out "Oh I have to go again!" or "let me tell…read moresomeone about this!". The piece of chicken on my sandwich was a rather peculiar piece in terms of its shape. It did not provide an enjoyable eating experience. When I took my first bite, after figuring out which would be an easy bite, a piece of chicken fell out which made me realize it was two separate pieces of chicken inbetween two buns. It got rather messy after having to pick up the fallen pieces. Other than that, it was flavorful but wasn't the best I've had. I prefer Dave's Hot Chicken over this. My fries were pretty salty. If given the option, I would have requested lightly salted or no salt at all. Space was small but understandable as it seemed to be a carry-out spot. Customer service wasn't quite all that. The girl took our order and that was it. Not much of a greeting nor farewell/thanks for coming. We didn't receive a follow-up during our meal to see if we may needed anything. I would have benefited from extra napkins. My friend enjoyed his meal. He stated it was a good meal but he wouldn't go out of his way to get this. He would have preferred to uber-eats it if he lived here. What made me want to go was the name. My last name is the same as the restaurant name so I figured give it a go! Also saw positive reviews on TikTok.

The Szechuan taste is a brilliant partner for this southern classic. Love this place, the staff give off a good vibe.

Just a heads up though, if you order "mild" it is still definitely spicy, but in a good way. That said, the service was a big downside. When I went with friends, the place was not even busy, but it still took about 20 minutes for our food to come out (yes I counted because we were in a rush). We only ordered two tenders with no drink. For something that feels like fast food, that is pretty unreasonable. I also went specifically to try the mozzarella sticks, but we were told they had not even started making them and it would take another 40 minutes, which is kind of wild. Even when our food was ready, things moved really slowly. The cashier took SEVERAL minutes just labeling and staring at each box, even though we all ordered the same thing, and then another minute just to put everything into a paper bag. Maybe it was his first day? Another frustrating part was that the washrooms were locked, so we could not even use them while we were there, which was a mild inconvenience, but I think bathroom access in a spicy chicken shop is a bit crucial. On top of that, it is pretty expensive for what you get. Overall, the food is the only thing really saving this place. It tastes incredible, but because of the slow service, locked washrooms, and high prices, I probably would not go back.

I usually don't like fried chicken because of the greasy skin but Bubba's chicken skin is crispy (as in their name) and not greasy So I love it. The Chocolate Chicken comes with a very slight spicy chocolate and mango salsa; definitely a great combination. The Nashville Hot wasn't too hot but the cool pickles and honey greatly offset any hotness. I also love the the Coleslaw and Mac & Cheese were great. There are small tables and booth seating.
