My friends psyched me up for this place. Unfortunately, it did not leave anything to desire. They ran out of broccolini and they gave me the spinach, but left all the water at the bottom of the bowl. It needed salt and it took forever before I could get it, because the waitress did not come back after our food was delivered. The burger was raw, and the risotto which should be creamy and thick was soupy as you can see in the picture. Then on top of it, I brought a cake which cost me $30 and they charged each one of my guest four dollars each for a cake serving fee which I could've done myself. The cake serving bee was $48. This was never disclosed. The sirloin was tough. The lobster ravioli tasted so fishy. You could tell it wasn't fresh. I hope this place makes a major changes

Welcome back John! Tonight was fantastic. The pork Porterhouse and the Raviolis were phenomenal. Great wine list too. Can't wait to return!

My mom went here and was wondering what type of spice/ingredient was used in a lot of the food. It was in the pickled vegetables and the potato salad. She couldn't figure out what it was, so I was just wondering?

It's spacious, with lots of different types of seating options, from tables in the center of the main dining room to booths and a fun little wine barrel-esque 4-top table by the windows. There's also an indoor little fire pit with seating around that by the front window. There's plenty of parking in the parking lot, so that's never been an issue for us. The wines are wonderful, as expected. WVV has expanded its portfolio over the years and includes a nice array of labels so you can get your classic Oregon Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, as well as more robust reds like Tempranillo and Syrah. The bubbles are always a good choice here, and the rosé is usually a crowd pleaser. The menu here is small, but mighty, and the quality of the food has always been top notch, in our experience. On Wednesdays, there's a happy hour menu. On our most recent visit, we loved the tarragon shrimp and the mushrooms. The truffle fries were fine, but tasted more like standard garlic fries and not so much truffle fries. While I love having a wine bar/restaurant like this in this area, the one thing that has been disappointing is that I have noticed the service has gone downhill since it first opened. It's not bad, but it's also not as attentive, warm and welcoming, or knowledgeable (re: the wines) as it once was. So one star was knocked off for the just-okay service, but otherwise, this is a fantastic spot for foodies and wine lovers alike if you are in the Lake O area!

We sat at the bar and the bartender, Ethan was so pleasant and knowledgeable. He made me an absolutely perfect Sidecar which a lot of bartenders don't know how to make. I was seriously having a mindful eating moment savoring every bite like my mouth was saying, "Wake up! This is how food is SUPPOSED to taste!" Who needs sex when you've got those beef tips? OMG. Service was exceptional. Food menu seemed light but enough of a variety to choose from, and it all was absolutely delicious. Had the drink School for Ants which the taste was of perfection. For lunch we shared the pears and goat cheese which by far was my favorite dish. Also ordered the ricotta gnocchi which I thought the bourguignon was a little strong but I believe that's normal, so it's just my personal preference. The Tokyo hot chicken tenders were tender and juicy, and the honey and sauce paired well together. Shout out to the staff that brought our forgotten to go box to our car. Of all the lovely and awesome wineries that have indoor plumbing, we visited some truly awful and mediocre places. See the reviews for all three. The prize for the worst vineyard goes to Kristen Hill, it was a 1 star experience. Runner up at 2 stars, Hauer of the Dauen. The best in show at 3 stars was Walnut City WineWorks. We opted to get the snack pack which is about $6.00 extra. It included hummus, cheese, salami, pita and grapes. It was filling enough and worth the $6.00. We also thought ahead and brought our own bottle of bubbly for the ride to and in between vineyards. Do that: it makes the ride much more fun. I will keep my eyes open for another Living Social or Groupon and will snap it up when I see it. This is a great way to spend a Saturday. Fingers crossed they will make some improvements to the itineraries.

The bartender (a more mature fellow) was casually talking to someone, not serving him - standing in the restaurant talking. No one acknowledged we were there - or they would come back in a min. The bartender seemed irritated at my question of did they have a pinot gris in the happy hour menu. "no, only chardonnay". And, when I asked for a taste - also seemed to irritate him. The food is great here - that is without question, which is why we went. And, it didn't disappoint. However - receiving the bill - there is a weird ADDED $1.25 for a "Hosting Fee"... Hosting Fee??? what the heck is thattttt. (if you google it will tell you that it's for 'helping the employees' basically) What? Then, I had gotten a regular non-premium martini. It says in menu Well Drinks are $8. A regular martini is just their well vodka and should be that. The charge for the martini was $12.00! Never going back - the service was lously. They are padding their prices and I can get much better treatment (and pours) at Five Spice or Tucci!

We were visiting family in the area and had two people in our group local to the area who had been there several times in the past. We first went and checked in and were told there was a 10-15 minute wait. The hostess was very kind, took our number and sent us to the upstairs bar to wait for a table. We were greeted by a friendly bartender who took our drink orders (cocktails and wine) and we enjoyed our beverages while chatting by the bar. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with large velvet green booths, all new, updated and well done. The drinks were all great. The downstairs hostess came upstairs to let us know our table was ready, and we paid and went downstairs. So far, we were all really happy with our experience. The prices of the drinks were all around $15-20+ but we were all okay with it given the good service (thus far), high end atmosphere, etc. There were people in there but it was a pretty mellow Saturday evening. We were given a nice large area to sit and thanked the hostess. The waitress came and was clearly a little overwhelmed but took our drink orders. I mentioned a drink my husband had upstairs and asked if I could have it, but was told they had a different menu down here and I needed to order from that menu. I looked it over while the others ordered their drinks, and when she came back to me, I asked if I could go upstairs to order the drink I wanted, and bring it down. She said sure. I put in an order for a couple food items with her, and she left. My brother in law kindly offered to go upstairs and order the drink and was gone for quite a long time. We learned that when he was upstairs, he went to the bar and mentioned I wanted a drink from his bar. The bartender's mood shifted and he said he had 10 drinks ahead of my BIL, and asked him to go downstairs to order. My BIL informed him he was told the downstairs bar didn't have the ingredients, and was sent up here. The bartender was annoyed and asked my BIL to go downstairs for 10 minutes and come back again to order. My BIL replied that he was happy to wait at the bar instead and took a seat. After a long while, the bartender curtly said that my BIL would have to pay for the drink up here, which my BIL of course agreed to. My BIL said it was very uncomfortable and the bartender was being rude (a couple sitting at the bar also mentioned this). We are guessing he was overwhelmed and didn't handle it well. He brought the drink downstairs, no problem. We were all sitting for a while and noticed that my BIL never received the beer he ordered from the waitress downstairs. And after about 45 minutes I asked about the food I had ordered (she hadn't checked in with us at all during that time, and I should mention it was not busy at all - several tables open). The waitress said she forgot to put it in. That was it. No offer to quickly put it in, no offer to comp a drink, no real apology. We asked for the bill and split it between two cards. When we got the receipts and cards back, my husband found they had given both him and his brother (the other payer) copies of my husband's receipt-so he assumed he was double charged. He went to the front to bring this to their attention and explained how he was upset by the poor service throughout the evening. He received a quick response that they had printed the receipt twice (didn't charge twice) and were short staffed that evening. We are all understanding people and my sister in law ran restaurants for years, we all had food service jobs and are sympathetic but really just disappointed in this place. I'm writing this review because the employees there just didn't seem to care about the issues we raised. They had an acoustic artist playing that evening who was phenomenal. If you go there on a different day with different staff, I'm sure you'd have a great time. But for the price and ambiance, we really expected better service.
