We came in to grab a drink before tubing. We ordered a hot chocolate with peppermint schnapps. It was pretty good...not amazing and not bad. Kinda pricey at around $7-$8. It wasn't busy when we were there. The bartender chatted with us a bit. At one point I heard him say to someone on the phone oh so and so isn't here today, he called in. By the time we left the place was getting busy and the poor guy was running around trying to take care of all of the tables. Overall, this was a pleasant experience. read more

My bf and I sat at the bar. We were getting drinks for happy hour when the chef gave us some on the house fries. They were amazing! It's a very cozy bar and Haley, our bartender helped us out with some other places we could check out to watch the game on Thanksgiving. I am so impressed with the chef (I don't know his name) and Glen, our bartender and server. We showed up during mud season with a party of 14 at 9PM. Our food was so good. Get the boneless chicken wings and the Rocky mtn slicker sauce, the quesadilla, everything. Get the patron margarita and the sangria with jack fire. I can go on and on. Got off the mountain and was craving fries and beer. We were the second group (of 3 ppl) who walked in and we waited 20min for anyone to come by to take our order. I walked up to the bar to order our drinks and the person behind the bar said that he was the host and couldn't help me... well obviously your not doing a good job hosting if the customer is coming to you to order. There was only one server who wasn't very efficient in the flow on their job. read more

OMG!!! This place is an absolute wreck. We thought it would be ok on the way to tubing (which is so fun) but wrong. Terrible in every way... non authentic food covers the menus. The steak sandwich is a roast beef dip, the kids menu is prepackaged garbage, the salad is brown and stale. Hotel is gross and it glows the restaurant. Avoid at all cost. read more

This was attached to the hotel we stayed at for Snowball this year. Not to say we all didn't stick out like sore thumbs in our neon attire but you could tell the wait staff were less than impressed that we would be their clientele for the weekend. The food here was fine the 'spuds' were awesome but they ran out midway through the weekend so I ate chips, meh at best. I am not saying we were not rowdy but I am positive we were respectful and I wish the staff could have been the same. Terrible. Worst MSG headache I have had in quite some time. Our family ate at Five Mountain Tavern because we were staying in nearby Zephyr lodge and the gondola ride to the tavern hotel sounded like fun. Our kids like burgers, so we figured it couldn't be that bad... we were wrong. All of the food was straight from the freezer to our table. Despite the complete lack of any fresh ingredients, it took forever for our burgers to be cooked. And worst of all, somehow they pumped a BBQ burger so full of MSG I couldn't sleep through the night thanks to the splitting headache. Plus the $90 (w/ tip) price for 3 adults (no drinks) and 2 kids was absurd. Avoid. read more

Horrible service! I have rarely ever experienced service so bad. From the start the bartender/server showed absolutely zero interest in us. I ordered a drink off of the menu and whem she said she didnt have it my drink was all but written off. When our food came out it spent 10 minutes sitting on the counter until I decided to go up and get it myself. From this point a manager had to step in and told me rudely I had to wait for them. From there it was a myriad of problems: we had to ask for water, utensils and napkins, one of the orders was put in wrong, when we told the server the chili was too spicy her response was "no it's not" and walked away. When my grandmother couldn't finish the chili because it was too spicy, she gabe me a container way too small for the food. Overall I felt extremely disrespected. I know not to expect amazing service at resorts like this but that was ridiculous. read more

Five Mountain Tavern was great and right in the bottom of our hotel! They have a small menu, consisting of typical bar/pub appetizers, burgers and pizzas. But, don't let the size of the menu fool you, the range of burgers and pizzas is pretty great. Additionally, the bloody mary's were just what we needed after a long night of driving up a snowy mountain to get to the resort. read more

Only go to this place if you want a drink after skiing. The food is horrible. We each ordered a cheese burger cooked medium and felt like we got soggy beef jerky. My son ordered a kids meal of chicken strips and they too were bland and chewy. I mean, how do you screw up chicken strips!!! My 2 yr old said her milk was good. On the positive side, our waiter was attentive and pleasant. Expect to pay mountain resort prices. Our bill was $80 for 2 burgers, 1 kid's meal, 3 beers and a glass of milk. Do not waste your time or money regardless of how convenient it may be. The low quality food is very over priced. They also charge an extra unknown fee. We stopped in last night because it was late, we were hungry and we were staying at the hotel. They were out of many beers and numerous food items. We ended up with a pizza (definitely frozen), wilty lettuce salad, $15 frozen tortellini and jarred sauce and a small, dry hamburger to go with our $5 COORS Lights. So rediculous and insulting to charge the prices they did for the food they served. read more

Bleh, just bleh. Fine if you're staying at the hotel and need a quick bite or a beer. But definitely not worth going out of your way to visit. The pizza our friends ordered arrived on a cardboard tray, which pretty much says it all (Tombstone anyone??). Hubby's burger made him sick later that evening, and my flat bread was a kiddie version of frozen pizza. I had naively asked that they go easy on the cheese, not realizing when i ordered that everything came out of the freezer and wasn't freshly prepared. The guys said the spuds were good, but they were expecting potato skins not square french fries. The atmosphere is romper room ... lots of kids running around in bathing suits and flip flops (the hotel pool is nearby) playing with crayons on the white paper table covers. We visited on a busy Sunday night during spring break (seeking to wait out the I-70 traffic) and there was only one server and one bartender. So service was slow and inattentive. We have been going here for years and the food has always been so so. With new menu and staff it seems to be re-energized. Great service and food. Smaller menu helps with great sandwiches and pizza. May seem a bit overpriced but found to be worth it. Would encourage everyone to give it a second, third or fourth try. We're glad we did. read more

I am a veteran of the food service industry. I am hard to please with food, and service. So, when we walked into the 5MT, at about seven pm on a Thursday(valentines day), I was not impressed. It was dead, maybe five people there. We(wife and my self) took seats at the bar. Scott was our drink slanger for the evening. We ordered blue moons, and the keg kicked, and needed to be replaced. Scott was off to the back. Would he return? He did, and poured our 'moons, and brought us menus. The menu is small. Which is either great, or bad. We ordered, a cheddar burger for me, and the wife had chili. The small menu ended up being a great plan. Burgers, pizzas and apps, not more than the kitchen can execute, correctly. Food was great. Scott was a great guy, made us feel at home, like coworkers out for a beer. Long story short, Great time, great food, and GREAT service. Way to go Scott, Thanks. read more
