Friends and I came here on a weekend to try out their duckpin bowling lanes! (As someone with joint problems, I can't lift a regular bowling ball anymore, but I miss bowling, so we came up with this solution!) We were there early in the day so it wasn't very busy, but there's virtual golf, a shuffleboard table, a bar and probably more stuff that we didn't see. In one hour we fit in two games with four people pretty much perfectly (we picked up the pace in round 2). The digital scorekeeping is very helpful! Watch out for the ball return: it spat out the ball onto the floor about half the time, so mind your feet! It was very hot in the place despite it not being terribly warm outside; we were all sweating! Overall though, I was thrilled to have an opportunity to go bowling again since I haven't been able to in quite a while. read more

I was visiting Chicago for the weekend. While walking around downtown, we saw this spot and so decided to go check it out. We happened to be there on a Sunday at 9pm, where there was a discount for $25/hour. We stayed until closing at 11pm and it was fun. The system allows you to explore different courses, practice on the driving range, record yourself to watch your form, and good and drinks. The staff were friendly, considering it's Chicago. It also want busy. I believe there were 11 bays, each with their own club set. The downside was probably the tech didn't always capture angles and whatnot correctly so there were a few glitches on occasion. We also didn't have every club in the golf bag they provided so it would be nice to have that organized. It's also on the pricey end. Overall, it was our first time doing the experience and we enjoyed it. There seems to be other locations with a different atmosphere perhaps we can check out on another visit. Happy exploring! Well I have been to other locations and have been wanting to come here since I live nearby and I noticed that they now have Duck Pin Bowling So fun if you haven't ever tried yet do it!!! They also have simulation games with soccer basketball and some other sports besides golf that you can play. I have yet to try those but I've heard they're pretty awesome! Perfect place if you a golf lover or if you want to hang out with the friends . There it's also a ping pong table and a shuffle board, darts and a pole table. Food it's very good and if you are a member you have a lot of amazing discounts and offers, like free hours to play in certain days. The food it's good and they have all the variety of drinks. I don't recommend the cocktails tho it's not the place to have it. The place it's very spacious and in the middle it's a big bar so if you wanna watch a game there are tv all over . I had a terrible experience and never even set foot in the door! I worked with Heather Y. to make a reservation for a corporate group. She was great initially, letting me know options and setting clear expectations of the first come, first serve nature of the reservation I was looking to secure. After discussing the payment, I submitted a payment in full for my reservation. I didn't receive a response back with next steps, so I emailed her and didn't receive a response due to the Veterans Day holiday. The next day, I followed up again. She called me back to tell me that although I paid, someone else was able to get the reservation because I didn't sign a contract. When I pushed back and told her we had only discussed the payment being what would secure the reservation, and that I would expect her to let me know if anything else was needed, she moved on to tell me that another reservation was requested through Customer Service and it was prioritized over my reservation being handled through her department (she expressed this shouldn't have happened). She told me it was out of her control but I could speak to someone who maybe had more control of the situation. She made it seem as if I would receive a callback from Matt today, and I have not. There's no sense of urgency for an issue that needs to be resolved by tomorrow. What she offered as an alternative was to send us to a location further away and pay our travel expenses. However, at 4:30pm during the week, a 15 min drive downtown is more like a 45 min drive, so we opted out of that option. She then asked, 'So, do you want me to cancel your reservation and issue a refund?' This made it clear that Matt calling (which he did not) would not change the outcome of the situation. Very disappointed. I am definitely adding this to my "blacklist" of places to avoid! read more

I was a bit apprehensive at first being a beginner golfer, but had the best experience at five iron. I went for their women's history month event and I must say it exceeded all of my expectations. We were nicely greeted, we were led to a private bay (for this event), and were given complementary glasses of champagne ( which was a pleasant surprise!). We mentioned we were beginner golfers at the Front Desk and the attendant sent over a coach to give us a short lesson. It was great, Kyle was great! The vibe was awesome! Amazing simulator service producing consistent and reliable tracking data. Kitchen service was poor, food times were upwards of an hour and a half and cold when brought out. I would recommend the simulator for anyone looking to get their swings in. Be sure to eat beforehand though!!! read more

Came here for a birthday event and had a blast. The golf simulation was out of this world! Five Iron Golf is located in the River North district of Chicago. The entrance is a bit hidden and it's off the beaten path. Yet, at least it's away from the tourist traps. When you enter you are greeted with a nice, clean vibe. The staff was professional and tended to all needs. They stopped by many times to help us set up, troubleshoot, and ask us for drinks. Amazing service. There are many bay areas yet they're spaced out in a way where you don't feel crowded. The bar is centrally located and convenient to everyone. Many TVs will play different sports channels at once. The bar had solid drink options. Many macro beers with a few locals on draft. Drinks were actually cheap at the $-$$ range. And there are a few other options for those not inclined to golf. There is a pool, table shuffleboard, and a mini area for putting practice. I can see myself hanging out here more often with groups of friends. It's like a guy's dream man cave. Prices for the simulator were a bit pricey. Yet, with the integration of hardware and software, I understand paying for the technology and service. Also, it's better than trying to play golf during the Chicago winter season. As for the simulators themselves, I found it quite accurate. It was fun to whack a ball and practice your swing. Yet, one area of improvement was the putting. Putting was a hassle and finicky. Yet, there are ways to change the settings to make it easier. 5/5. Definitely coming back and recommending it. This is a great getaway in the city for some golf practice. My wife and I were visit from out of town and had some free time so we wanted to get in some practice. Pros: - plenty of good clubs (up to date models-esp call away) if you are from outbox town and have no clubs - trackman with video of your swing - staff is super friendly - putting green is there too! Cons: - if you like call away, this is heaven. If you are partial to other brands , it is more limited but possible. - all balls are chrome soft- if this is your gamer that's great. First time trying it out! Treated my friend who golfs for Father's Day gift. It was a nice spot and not crowded like other golf places. I parked in a near by parking garage but there was some street parking surprisingly on a Friday at 7 pm. The decor was chic and clean the stay was very attentive and friendly. Food and drinks very reasonable and pretty tasty! We had the boneless buffalo wings and seasoned waffle fries. Only thing was the air conditioning was out so it was pretty warm inside but the staff was so accommodating he placed a floor fan right near us. It is a little pricey per hour but that's what you can expect being downtown and prices are very clearly stated so you don't get into something you didn't plan on. Great place to hang out for golfers. We were wandering the city and was looking for somewhere to hang out. Gave them a call and made a reservation. They have like 10-12 bays. Very nice set up. Great equipment to use (with different lofts on drivers) and they were all in good conditions. They use the trackman system. Very cool to either practice on the range or play a simulated game. They only thing is that they give you 3-4 balls. But that was no big deal. Good food and drink selection. They have Zombie Dust on tap! PRice was $65 an hour. I thought that was ok. Great place to chill with friends but still get to work on your game. Different than the outdoor topgolf that I have done (las vegas). That was more of a novelty. read more

Avoid Avoid Avoid General Manager is rude & unprofessional! Went there one month ago. Charged in advance for the golf. There was no cook that day and bartender supplied 2 drinks on the house for inconvenience. Today, withlmy credit card company calls me regarding a suspicious card. The General Manager accused my friend and I of leaving one month ago without paying an $113 bill. She called me a liar and told me to prove my friend and I didn't owe this bill. Why not investigate this false charge with your system and staff before making false allegations and charges to a regular customer between Loop & River North locations. Unbelievable! She refused to give her name. I will be escalating this unprofessional behavior and disputing this false charge. read more

What an amazing addition to River North. My friends and I rented a table ($65/ hour during peek). Now keep in mind NONE of us have ever golfed in our lives. Probably over 100 swing-and-misses. But it was such a good time and the simulator is very responsive. Buckets of 6 16-ounce domestics were 30 bucks. There's ping pong, billiards and a TVs everywhere. I will without question come back many times. My only recommendation is to go with a smaller group. We had a group of 9 and barely made it through 4 holes in 2 hours. read more

Super cool subterranean adult playground. Spacious, clean and high tech. While I'm not a huge fan of simulator golf, these are the best hitting bays I've encountered in a public place.
