I'm honestly disappointed in how Five Guys handled operations during the recent snow blizzard. While most businesses were closing to protect their staff and customers, they chose to remain open and required employees to come into work in extremely dangerous weather conditions. Roads were icy, visibility was low, and travel advisories were in place yet workers were still expected to risk their safety just to keep the store running. No burger is worth someone putting their life at risk. Companies should prioritize the well-being of their employees over profits, especially during severe weather emergencies. It's unfair to put staff in a position where they feel pressured to choose between their paycheck and their safety. I hope management reevaluates their policies and starts putting people first in situations like this. read more

This is not a food review, but a customer service review. It's been years since I've been to this restaurant, and I still did not go tonight. However I'm writing because the new ownership was caring enough to read my previous review, which wasn't exactly complementary, and reach out to me to invite me back to the restaurant. If I could give them a zero star rating I would. My hubby and I pulled up at 9:30 (half hour before closing). The employees were already cleaning the kitchen. They made eye contact with my husband and ignored him, then went to hide in the back till he left the entrance. Terrible work ethic and experience. Walked in and the place looks like a dump, dirty floors and counters that look like they were never cleaned, during a pandemic, thats ridiculous. My cheeseburger was in fact that worst cheeseburger I've ever had. The bun was NOT toasted, NO cheese, and the meat was undercooked, no ketchup. I'm not a huge Five Guys fan but this location is decent, cheap prices for a burger. The inside is clean there's fast service it's really an in-and-out place if you just want a burger. There's nothing specialty about it and it's a step up from a McDonalds or fast-food hamburger. Not too much more to say about this if you've been to one five guys you've been to them all. There really isn't any differentiation between store locations. The peanuts out for people to enjoy is the Five Guys specialty. It's a good option if there's nothing else around and you feel like having the classic burger. Fries are okay nothing too special but I do like the touch of having The Malt vinegar. I like that I can have the malt vinegar and the ketchup. All Burgers here are done well done only, FYI. read more

Add the sides of grilled onions and bbq sauce and you got yourself a winner. The free peanuts here is good if theres a long line and youre just sitting around waiting for your burger. DO NOT EAT HERE. Just received my delivery food and it was DISGUSTING. Not only did I NOT get the Cajun fries I ordered (the main reason i ordered from Five Guys tonight), but the regular fries I got were burnt, cold and tasted like sawdust. You then select from the following free toppings: raw or cooked onions, raw jalepeño peppers, bell peppers, sautéed mushrooms, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, relish, Heinz ketchup, A-1 steak sauce, BBQ sauce, mustard, or mayo. Fries are available plain or seasoned with Cajun spices. Beef hot dogs are available topped with bacon and/or cheese, but no sauerkraut or chili. Beverages are limited to fountain sodas, iced tea, and bottled water. I ordered a double cheeseburger topped with iceberg lettuce, not-quite-ripe hothouse tomatoes, and chopped raw onion. The soft bun was fresh, the meat was hot and juicy, and the cheese was nicely melted. I enjoyed the burger, but there was nothing special about it. Ultimately, it was a generic, fast-food cheeseburger. The fries were not greasy, but they were starchy, undercooked, and limp. A regular size order is easily enough for two people. My 11-year old recently introduced me to Five Guys, and I'm thrilled he did! It's sort of fast food, but not quite. The menu is limited, but that's because your order is made fresh. So, you may have to wait a few, but it's worth it. You'll get your order in s brown bag that you can carry out or take to a table. There are 4 burger options, but you get a litany of toppings (free to choose from). There are regular and small burgers as well as hot dogs and a couple sandwich options. French fries are fresh and cut in store. Tip: the regular burgers has two patties, which was a bit much for me. The regular fry was enough crispy delights to fill two 12 oz cups. 3.5 stars Been here a few times over the course of a couple of years. It's located off Rte 22 in the Blue Star Shopping Center. Plenty of parking. Inside the place is long and semi wide. You walk to the back, place your order and then fight your way to the soda machine to fill up your drink. The menu is not extensive. The toppings are abundant and are unlimited (bacon is extra $). I generally go with the Little Cheeseburger (1 patty). It's filling enough. Burgers are made 1 way, medium well. I recommend the small fries especially if there are 2 of you...they overload the bag (you get one regardless if it's to go or stay). So you get plenty. I have had the hot dog as well. It's very good but they don't have kraut or chili so you need to go off the same toppings list as the burgers...I recommend bbq sauce, grilled onions and mustard...sounds bizarre but it is good. This place is generally busy so be prepared to wait a little while since everything is made fresh. You can munch on the peanuts they have in boxes until you get your "eat on". read more

Good fatty burgers here. You get to pick a burger with any combination of toppings that you want on it. If you haven't been here before, you might over order like I always do. The regular burger is actually made with two patties. The small is a single patty. I didn't expect that...it was a decent surprise, but I have this problem of trying to finish everything on my plate. A small order of fries means, here's a small cup of fries that I'm going to put inside a paper bag for you. And then I'm going to scoop in another huge portion or two of fries into the bag. The bag is over loaded with fries by the time they give it to you. The burger was really juicy and fatty, but most importantly, it was made fresh. The fries were fresh cut, but these were on the soggy side. I prefer them more crispy. Experience here was almost as good as In and Out burger. Best part is that you can get creative and mess with the toppings everytime you order. read more

Wish there were more locations near me! There is no question the food in phenomenal. The fries are so good you don't need ketchup to eat them. The bacon cheeseburger is my fave. Really they do burgers right!! Delicious and cooked to perfection. This location is usually quiet as the strip mall it's located in has died sadly. But that means parking is easy and you don't have to wait a long time to get your food. You can enjoy the free peanuts whilst your burgers are cooking. I love the Coke Freestyle drink machine! Only suggestion is that the temperature control be looked at. It's always on the warmer side inside when we eat in, and in the summer time that's not too refreshing. Only reason why no 5 Stars is the location is not ideal for us and the dining room area is always a bit too warm to really enjoy our meal. Other than that delicious and hope they open more locations soon! read more

Went to Five Guys in Watchung on Rte22 last night. The cashier had a really nasty attitude to the customers and on top of that, she wasn't wearing her mask. The mask she had was around her chin. (Pointless). Wouldn't say anything about it to her because she was so incredibly angry and was clearly trying to start an argument with anyone who looked at her the wrong way. Who needs that stress. Way overrated for sure! I rarely eat burgers because I'm very health-conscious and into fitness. However, I was in the mood for a good burger so I decided to give Five Guys a try because of all the hype surrounding the name. First of all, the cashier had an attitude, secondly, I paid $4.95 for a bun less cheeseburger (a beef patty with a single slice of American cheese). I could've cooked this patty on my stove top and it would've tasted the same. My boyfriend got a regular cheeseburger with just ketchup for the same price and again was nothing to write home about.
