Bacon cheeseburger, "little" Cajun fries (well done), and a regular fountain drink
Rob M.

It's been a couple years since I've had 5 Guys so I wanted to try it again. Their burgers are really, really good. Always made to order and have a great sear from the flat top. Most condiments are free to add-on but sides are a different story. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger with the smallest sized fries and drink they offer. Everything is a-la-carte so the order came to $16.33. The cost is definitely higher then most restaurants in the area even considering tips for a waiters service. The biggest disappointment was the French fries. Ordered a "little" Cajun fry (well done). Even ordering well done, the fries were soggy and many of them seemed undercooked. The seasoning was done very well and the portion size was very big. But even with ordering them well done, you won't get crispy fries. I will come back for a burger if I'm nearby but I wouldn't buy anything else

Five guys if generally a five star place for me. Great burgers, great hot dogs.. Amazing fries. Stopped here for lunch and after we ordered, I heard the cashier repeat what we needed to the guys in the back wrong.. Specifically the amount of patties..I tried explaining that to her.. She told me to check the receipt..I told her she rang it right, just shouted it out to the guys at the grill wrong and told her what she yelled and she just looked at me like a deer looking at head lights.. Ended up waiting 15 minutes longer than usual while hearing five orders after us get their stuff so it was obvious her mistake delayed our order. Other than the delay, great place.

I was lucky enough to be assigned to photograph the Five Guys grand opening for the newspaper I work for. Twist my arm why dontcha? My husband and I arrived around 6:30 and the line was almost to the door. Everyone wanted to check out opening day! The owners were sitting by the door and chatted with me while I took photos. Marc and Peter were very nice and really care about their customers. The line didn't take too long and we ordered a little cheeseburger for me, a bacon cheeseburger for my husband, and we shared a regular fry and soda. I took more pictures while my husband waited for our food, which took a while but not unreasonable for the crowd. We got a Coke Zero from their vast array of drinks, which included every kind of Coke imaginable, Pibb, Mello Yello, Sprite Zero, and others. I highly approve of having so many soda choices. They also offer free peanuts while you wait for your food. Where the fries are also fried in peanut oil, this is not a good place for anyone with a peanut allergy. My "little" cheeseburger was plenty big. In Five Guys speak, it's just a single patty burger. My husband's was the regular two-patty size. They were juicy and delicious and far superior to other fast food places. The fries were natural cut and perfectly salted. A "regular" fry is decently sized, and they dump another scoop in the bag on top of them. Even sharing, my husband and I were stuffed. A large fry would feed 4 people. All in all this was a great dinner. It's simple, tasty, and filling. We hold their burgers on par with Fuddruckers, which we love, and Five Guys is cheaper. There aren't as many choices but it makes for a simple decision.

Proof that I was ignored.

Food is great but Jesus it's getting expensive here. $5 for a milkshake? Should be no more than $3!

A lot of places double up on the tortillas for this reason, but no need here. We ordered the birria, carnitas, and cabeza tacos, chicken sopes, beans, rice, sweet plantains, sweet rice pudding and horchata. Standouts were the carnitas and cabeza for me - very delicious in their simplicity, the meat is seasoned and cooked to perfection. Birria was also very good but overhyped IMO (novelty factor). The chicken sopes were way bigger than expected, could easily be a meal on its own and the masa tart was pretty good. Our table liked the green sauce to add zip to the food. It was very sunny when we went, so it was blinding and hot to be sitting inside, hope they install a shade at some point. They seem to only serve in takeout containers, so eating at a table requires getting a bit creative for a "plate" etc. There's a small lot behind the building and street parking is pretty easy. I will definitely be returning to try the lengua and more things next time!

The tacos were delish! I usually opt for flour tortillas, however they make their corn tortillas and they are the soft ones, so I wanted to try it as it comes - I was not disappointed! The tacos come in 4 to a meal, so we so split two and two. Naturally, I prefer steak but both the chicken and steak were phenomenal. Lots of flavor!! The taco especial, has onions and cilantro and a nice lime squeeze on the side that is a nice flavor burst and addition. If you want the lettuce, cheese, tomato, etc. then you want the americano version. The tacos come with two sauces, both of which were spicy but you can tell were made/fresh! But that hibiscus tea - wow!! So delish! It was sweet and flavorful and a sip of freshness!! The churros were also incredible. Not that I didn't think I'd like the dulce de leche filling but it was um-yes yum! The outside was nice and crispy obv coated in cinnamon and sugar and then the inside was soft and doughy but not raw dough, just perfection. The dipping sauce was excellent too - they could provide a little bit more of it but we made it work. Anyways, highly recommend. It's fresh and authentic- clearly homemade with good ingredients!! Can't wait to try more from the menu!

The experience is consistently efficient. The lines can get long due to its popularity, but ordering ahead through their app is the perfect way to skip the wait. Once you get your food, it's exactly what you're hoping for: crispy, juicy chicken fingers that are reliably good. The real star of the show is the Cane's Sauce. That creamy, peppery dip has a cult following for a reason and pairs perfectly with everything in the combo. The Box Combo gives you a great taste of their core offerings: those great chicken fingers, buttery Texas Toast for dipping, crinkle-cut fries that are crispy when fresh, and creamy coleslaw. It's a satisfying, decently-priced meal for something quick and easy. Overall, Raising Cane's is a standout in the fast-casual chicken game. It won't reinvent your idea of fast food, but for a tasty, no-fuss meal where the sauce truly shines, it consistently hits the spot.

Still waiting on the first location to open in Maine, hopefully in the near future! The reason for the four stars is I think a couple of things make this the lowest ranked Canes we have visited off the three. By no means was it a bad experience, the other two were just better in certain ways that make them a five star and this one a four star. The tenders did seem to be a little bit smaller than we have had before. The flavor of the tenders were still fantastic and you could tell it was high quality chicken. The toast needed to be a bit more toasted. This was quite a busy spot considering it is on route 1 in Saugus which has a ton of traffic so I am sure they are rushing food a little bit at times. Maybe we just came during too much of a rush or an off day for a good meal but not the best quality Raising Cane's we have had. We opted to go through the drive thru and their speed was good with a small wait, also staff was friendly. Which speaking of staff the person taking orders spoke very quickly yet with plenty of manners and being friendly! No real ambiance/vibes to talk about as we did drive thru. It is very convenient location wise and we enjoyed our meals just a couple small improvements we know are possible with a Cane's visit would turn this into an even better meal!

I've been to several and the bigger conglomerates are the ones that have been letting me down the most. In, steps Frangos.... HOLY CRAP WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO THIS CHICKEN is pretty much me every time I try what they are offering. Over fries or in a standard basket, doesn't matter because it's super-bomb! Everyone messes up on the juiciness but you'd think this was marinated for at least three days in some god-like buttermilk mixture because it's NEVER a problem here that you get dried out strips. It pairs well with that Frangos sauce you want to take home and possibly bathe in or slurp up with literally anything else out of your fridge. Situated in an old breakfast spot that was easily my favorite within a 10 mile radius and is missed tremendously, I believe the old owner's sons turned this into what it is now and really didn't change much of the decor at all. Hit up the kiosk or go to the friendly staff manning two registers. Even on weeknights, 75% of the tables are filled with everyone from a group of Wilmington teenagers to young families and their kids gobbling down the poultry. It's vibrant and hopping at all hours inside. I'm a huge sucker for atmosphere, so when you hear the mostly 90's pop blaring out behind the kitchen's bluetooth speaker, you know you've come to the right place. Even that toast they are serving alongside the standard dinners *chefs kiss*. My goodness, don't ever change, Frangos.

I'm not writing this review based on one bad experience or one fumbled early morning order. This is an ongoing experience. Not to mention this is the nearest McDonald's within six miles and as you probably know, six miles is an eternity in the great state of Massachusetts.
