Burger was like an upgrade from fast food to school lunch. The environment was weird. Everytime someone came in the door one person yelled, "One in the door!" Let's just say that it was awkward when I was the only person entering an empty restaurant and super annoying when they kept doing it. I'm a sucker for burgers and fries. A good burger and fries can turn a crappy week into a good one! :) I finally made my way to a Five Guys and I can understand the hype. My husband and I each got a Cheeseburger, but wish we had known that a non-Little Cheeseburger is really a double patty burger. Luckily, my husband and I were both hungry! You can add as many toppings as you want for free so I opted for grilled onions, mushrooms, lettuce and tomatoes. The tomatoes made the burger pretty messy, but it was still delicious. (Joanne G. was right, prepare yourself with lots of napkins!) Not bad for fast food and definitely beats McD's and BK. The hand-cut fries were the star of the meal though. The girl taking our order told us the large fries could feed 4 so we stuck with a regular size. The regular was definitely enough for 2 people to share, but my husband and I were sad when the last fry in the bag was eaten. It would be nice if they served milkshakes as Jon B. suggested and if their rolls could handle the sogginess of the tomatoes, but otherwise there's not much else for me to complain about. read more

I went here on a whim on my way back to work since I was starving and I had heard a lot about Five Guys burgers. I am really really trying to take this place for what it is, but I can't, it's just not that great, at all! I got the "hamburger," which comes with two patties. Fact: they use fresh meat and cook it right in front of you on the flat top. Fact: that doesn't make it a good burger. It was juicy from the copious amounts of grease. It was well done, but that is how they cook them. The smash the livin sh*t out of it and you are left with a measly looking greasy pattie.....YUMMO! Having the two patties stacked does not improve the situation, now you just get two smashed patties with even more grease. I was not impressed in the slightest. This is a notch over fast food burgers, but not by much. When I eat a burger, I want a big/juicy/monger medium rare burger so the "juices" not grease runs down my chin when I take a bite. With the perfect bun and the fixins you like. Now THAT is a burger. p.s. I didn't try the fries but I heard they were actually fresh cut potatoes and were very good. I have heard so much about five guys I finally decided to try it today. My son and I got the 2 patty burgers. He got a cheeseburger, I did a bacon cheeseburger. Along with a large order of Cajun fries and drinks. The first thing I have to say is, it should not cost 24 dollars for 2 people to eat fast food, which is what this is. Second the coke machine is awesome on many levels. I didn't even know some of the flavors the machine had existed! The burgers are ok. They are greasy, and cooked too long. The bread is very fresh which makes up for some of the short comings. As some other people have mentioned, this would be ideal hangover food for sure. The Cajun fries were decent, they seemed a little under cooked to me, but the seasoning was great. Overall, I understand what five guys is going for, they are trying to be like In n' Out burger. The problem is they aren't even close to that level. I would rather go to McDonalds or Burger King for a fast food burger over this place again. read more

Gorgeous. Lovely. Greasy. The newest addition to the Redstone Plaza - Five Guys!!! I don't know why they stopped calling it "Five Guys Burgers and Fries". Maybe it's a marketing thing. I wonder if their known well enough around these parts to draw people in. I mean, you wouldn't know it's a burger joint as you drive down 28, BUT they do have their usual signs in the windows advertising burgers and fries. - This is where the old Boston Market used to be. Well, it's all new now. Brand-spankin-new equipment and nice clean seating. I confess, the other Five Guys I've been to get a liiiitle dingy over time. Let's hope this one stays clean! - I was here for a late lunch around 3 and it was STILL packed. The way this one is setup is pretty smart: You order at the register then keep waiting in line around the counter until you get to the pickup place near the soda fountains. This is a smart design for the limited space here. You don't HAVE to keep waiting in line - we didn't - we got seats and waited for our number to be called like you do at other Five Guys. There isn't a whole lot of seating here - in fact I'd say this is the smallest Five Guys I've seen. - I got a cheeseburger, which in Five-Guys-Speak is actually two patties in a single bun. Cheese, onions, pickles, mayo, ketchup, peppers, bbq sauce. Not bad. The peppers were supposed to be "grilled" but they were most definitely raw. Kind of annoying but - it was OK. We also got fries - cajun style - and they smelled WEIRD. I don't know why BUT - they tasted fine. I didn't think they were all that spicy and next time I think I'll get plain. I didn't find my buger to be as greasy and messy as other Five Guys'. The burger was as good as Five Guys gets, but I've had better (PLEASE somebody bring In N Out here!!!) - The staff was great. These kids work FAST. Guy at the register actually talked me DOWN from getting a large because it would feed "3-4 people". I thought that was nice - didn't try to upsell me but in fact just the opposite. - Expensive. 2 people 2 cheeseburgers and a regular fries and 2 drinks cost TWENTY DOLLARS. $20!!!!!!!!!!! That's a bit much. The bugers are good, but they're not GREAT. Maybe I shouldn't quite discount the Burger King down the street just yet.... read more

I ordered a cheeseburger and veggie sandwich with cheese for pick up at 5:45 pm. We get there at 5:45 pm, wait for 20 minutes because our food isn't ready, then we get our food. The veggie sandwich doesn't have cheese on it, so we ask for cheese. 10 minutes later we get the veggie sandwich and there's two burger patties on them. I ask why there's hamburger on my veggie sandwich and if they can remake it and the woman I'm speaking with doesn't understand the problem and has to call the manager over to translate for her because she doesn't understand what I'm saying in English. I tell the manager the problem and he goes to remake my sandwich. Another 10 minutes later, I get my veggie sandwich and it's cold and the mushrooms and onions are not fully cooked. I usually like Five Guys but this experience alone is enough to not make me come back or recommend it to anyone. I'm very disappointed in this experience and my food. read more

Burgers and fries - just like it says! Easy, quick, delicious and filling. Don't expect too much, just a great burger. Most of the toppings are free, lots of milkshake flavors, free peanuts, one of those cool soda machines, prices are fair. The fact that toppings are free made me give this 4 stars, the burger was just fine, but the toppings awww yeah! The fresh cut fries were great too. I love that they tell you where the current potatoes they are using come from. Also, no need for a "regular" burger which is two patties, just go for the smaller one! I wish I had known that. Another tip, order one order of fries for 2 people, its more than plenty, could even serve 3 people. The registers are too close to each other though and make ordering confusing and difficult especially when the person next to you is screaming their order. There are not many places to eat in Woburn so we decided to head to Stoneham with my coworkers. I am a strong believer of the In-N-Out burger but Five Guys did fairly well. Especially with all their ingredients. Went during the rush hour lunch and the place got packed -- QUICK. Luckily, we decided to wait and snagged a table as someone was about to finish. When my order was done, I sat down and opened up the brown bag. Underneath the MOUNTAIN of fries, I had to fish out my burger at the bottom. They piled on the fries! Couldn't even see the burger. Okay this burger is good, but overpriced for what it is. I am a California boy and we have In-N-Out Burger. This place is always compared to In-N-Out. So I had to try it. At In-N-Out you can get a complete combo meal for the price of a single burger here. It is not really worth the money to eat here. The food at In-N-Out is cheaper and much better. The burgers are great, but I do have a couple of complaints. One being that there is way too much salt being poured on the fries. And two, for the love of God, TURN DOWN THE DAMN MUSIC! I have been to a few 5 guys and I always leave full but pretty underwhelmed. They offer a good fast food burger that you can customize to your liking. Although Wendy's new burgers taste pretty much exactly the same. Were they shine is their fresh cut actual potatoes fries. Are they the best fries I have ever had... no but they certainly aren't the worst either. I still don't know why the put the fries in the cups if they just shovel fries in the bag after putting the cup of fries in. Basically this is probably one of the better fast food burger spots, but I dont enjoy spending over $10 for burgers, fries, and a coke. read more

I was impressed! Small and simple menu that doesn't make you go cock-eyed cuh-raze-y! Every topping is free which is cool because I know a lot of other fast food joints that charge extra. Prices were relatively decent too. Had a regular bacon cheeseburger and some fries. They did not skimp out on the toppings at all. Only down-fall is the limited seating. The consistency has dropped for the worse. Our last three orders have been inconsistent and incorrect despite ordering exactly what we wanted online. One burger was to have grilled onions, we received raw onion, and a lot of them! The other burger was suppose to be ketchup only, but had both mayo and ketchup. It seems the burgers on our order were mixed up. In addition, the large fries cup was 3/4 full. Anyone who orders knows they are known for overfilling the bag with fries. I love french fries. Actually, I love Five Guys for being down the street from my house. They're quick and pretty friendly and their staff is nice. They pretty much know what they're doing and they're always on point with getting orders right. The place is pretty okay for the Five Guys franchise, this is one of the smaller ones I've been to. The only reason why I dislike this place is that it always smells like pee. I don't know if it's just me being really sensitive to smell, but it always smells like pee near the dining area. It's awful and I hate eating here because of it - I always just bring it home and have my car smell like fries for the next two days. read more

The sign says potatoes are from a farm in idaho. Where is the beef from? Kid taking order doesn't know. Manager doesn't know. 800 customer service doesn't know. Website cleverly avoids it by stating USDA approved. They use "reputable vendors". But who are these reputable vendors? Where are the animals raised, where are they slaughtered, where is the meat processed? Terrific about the spuds but what about the meat? This place has the best burgers and fries north of Boston. I don't get here too often but its always a treat and although this is not the healthiest food around it is by far the tastiest. maybe it was this 5 guys? maybe it was my mood? i am not sure. my first encounter with 5 guys was legendary. i was on a cross country cycling trip that landed me in south bend indiana. my friend pat took us to this place called 5 guys, i had two burgers and a large fry and was in heaven. since then i've said it's as good as in and out burger. for starters the layout of this place SUCKS... talk about a logjam of fat people after you make your order. no bueno... the last thing i want between my and my burger is a fat person. i might be fast, nimble and strong, but you also you need superhuman powers to take a burger (even if it is yours) from a fat person. i had two burgers with my choice of the works.. i think if the place had better seating and a better layout i would have enjoyed my burgers more. after i got them i just scarfed them down and wanted to leave the joint. there were tons of kids in there, just an insane amount of chatter... i probably would have enjoyed burger king more. i'm sure once it dies down it'll be better, but for now... make use of that grill in your backyard. read more

My parents who now live in Florida have been raving about the Five Guys near them, but I was cautious to try them because they really like Applebee's. I'm glad I decided to give them a try, had the regular bacon cheeseburger with grilled onions, mushrooms, mayo and BBQ sauce, with an order of fries. The burger was juicy and flavorful, much better than all the other fast food places, and the fresh cut fries were tasty too. I wasn't happy with the size of this location, not enough tables, maybe they can knock down the wall to the business next door and expand someday. read more

The cheeseburger was really good. The bun was SUPER SUPER soft. The service was friendly. They got my order right. It came out quickly. AND they have customizable soda that you can make as gross as you like! What more could you want? Oh, that's right. Good fries. They were soggy. Almost as if they weren't cooked enough.
