    Big Cheese Burger

Every time I go to Five Guys, I have an pleasant Experience. Southfield & 12 mile is my 1st pick & Downtown Detroit is my 2 nd pick. Those Cajun Fries are my Favorite and the Little Cheese Burger.

    Current pricing is crazy high

I am giving the restaurant 4 stars because honestly this location is great. The staff works well together, fast, efficient. The only issue I have ever had is one time they forgot my lettuce. I will live. However we haven't visited in a while, since the pandemic and inflation. I was SHOCKED by the price increase. Over $10-11 for a cheeseburger?!? I understand the quality aspect but geez. And then everything else costs extra including fries. We didn't even get drinks, and I got a little cheeseburger and little fries and my husband and I still totaled over $30 for just the two of us. That's ridiculous.

So i love five guys for the lettuce wrapped burger and even the burger in a bowl. I eat low carb/keto for the most part and this is a life saver. I even add a extra patty! I went in to order it was fast and efficient. Super easy! I had no issues! Exactly what i ordered.

This place was loud when I went here today. I had a hard time understanding the cashier because it was so loud. I got the double bacon cheeseburger. It was very delicious. I didn't care for the way they put the fries in the bag. I got fries everywhere, pulling my cheeseburger out of the bag. The fries were not good. They were cold and soggy like they were undercooked.

I try to stay away from fast food, but there are a couple places that I have trouble resisting, and Five Guys is one of them. I like the meatiness of their burgers and all of the toppings they have that you can add to your burger for FREE! I make myself feel not so guilty by ordering the Little Burger (which is still plenty big) and all of the veggies that I like. Granted, it makes for a sloppy eating experience, but it's so worth it. I hadn't been to a Five Guys in a long time, so I was pleased to see that they now offer Little Fries, in addition to the small size. The Little Fries are still very generous: the extra ones that they throw in the bag were plenty for me; I actually brought the cup of fries home! They now have one of those fancy 100 flavor drink machines. I only wanted water, but I was pleased that I got to use the machine for it. And I like that they have fresh lemon slices by the drink machine. I was impressed to see the crew doing different jobs. The young woman who took my order was later the one who refilled the ketchup when I let them know that it was empty, and one of the grill cooks took her place on the register. I think part of what I like about Five Guys (besides their generous portions) is that it's fresh. (As one of the signs says, "Not a freezer in sight".) You can watch the burgers & fries being made right in front of you, so no wondering what goes on behind the scenes. They are also pretty fast and pleasant. It is a bit more expensive than other fast food places, but in exchange, you get fresh food made to order. Definitely worth it.

Hey what to say, Five Guys burgers deliver, what didn't deliver was the cleanliness. The burger was juicy, bacon was crisp and it was delivered in a snap. I did however have to clean my own table, as I sit here all 5 of the empty tables were dirty. As a saving grace someone did attend to the lobby before I left. Would I go here again, yeah. Is it the best five guys experience or location no, but if in the area and craving a bacon cheeseburger it's not a bad choice.

    Love the complimentary peanuts
    Rebecca W.

I didn't enjoy myself as I usually do here. The fries were soggy and the Cajun spice was to lite to be Cajun. The burgers were bland. The buns fell apart. I'm thankful for the peanuts they were the highlight. Not sure when I'll be back. I am burger picky. This was my go to fast food for burgers. The staff was fast and friendly.

Walking in, there was very limited seating and about an hour wait, which clearly showed how popular this spot is. Thankfully, the hostess told us about their basement bar area where you can grab drinks and snacks while waiting. The downstairs area had such a cool speakeasy vibe dark ambiance, vinyl music playing, and honestly the perfect date night atmosphere. The drinks were REALLY good, and you can also order appetizers down there. Once we made it upstairs, we grabbed bar seating and talked to a few people around us who all said this was their favorite spot. Our bartender was amazing -- super attentive, explained the menu well, and gave great recommendations. We ordered the wings (perfectly seasoned and so good) and the chicken sandwich with buffalo added for a little spice... absolutely delicious. I also tried the pistachio martini, and wow definitely one of my favorite drinks I've had in a while. Overall, such a great experience from the atmosphere to the food and service. Good food is found at Jay Birds Bar & Grille located in Lathrup Village! So much so I dined here twice in one month with two different parties. Ironically, Brianna was our server both times. It's time to give her a raise for her hard work in serving. I had the catfish fillets, green beans and garlic mashed potatoes on my first visit and fried chicken wings and fries on the second visit. The food was well prepared with portions for sharing or a second meal at home. Note: Due to their limited seating, there is a 90-minute seating limit during busy times. Seating includes bar seating, pub tables and booth. Seating is not ideal for parties larger than 4. On my second visit, we had a party of 7 that we settled for two booths.

Until someone at the table next to us lit a joint, we truly enjoyed the outdoor space. My brother, however, warned me that the food was just meh and I find I will have to agree with him. The protein/meats were good. My problem was with the sides. I got the rice pilaf and green beans and I feel like it was false advertisement. The rice pilaf was just yellow rice. The green beans were canned, although the menu pic showed fresh. Both of them lacked flare or seasoning. I noticed the person we ate with ate all of his catfish but barely touched his sides (potatoes au gratin and corn) as well. Now my husband got the mashed potatoes and brussels. He raved about them. I grabbed a little of both to take home so hoping when I eat them for lunch tomorrow I'm as impressed with those as he was. Maybe they are the show stoppers?!? So the final factor is always whether or not it would return and I will say yes, there were several cocktails on the menu I really want to try. And it is conveniently located. I will try what our server recommended, the wings, and just keep it there.

For my first visit here I got their basic cheeseburger where I added Bacon and a second patty upgrading from a 1/4 pounder to a 1/2 Lb burger. At $10.50 which included the two upgrades of bacon and 2nd patty was a deal in my opinion especially when you consider the quality of the burger.
