I wasn't in the mood for in n out the other night so i decided to give five guys a try (since they are right next to each other). Its pretty crowded most of the time so I expected delicious food....def not what I got. OK I'll admit I am not a reliable source when it comes to burgers because I pretty much get nothing on it ha ha but still it just was eh nothing special. Also i got the Cajun fries, which had wayyyyy too much seasoning. I felt like I was eating pure Cajun power. On top of that they were really greasy. I didn't even get a drink and it came out to be so expensive for just a burger and fries (especially compared to in n out). Not a fan not even a little bit. Too greasy for me and over priced. I really do love five guys. First, the service here is great. It's neXT to in N out so while you have to wait in line there forever, I've never been here and had to wait. You can also call in and order ahead of time. All the extra toppings are fun to add (personally I love the bell peppers). And you can't go wrong with a small fries because they give you tons extra in the bag! The seasoning is a little spicy if you're sensitive but overall I really like this place, especially for a fast food chain. read more

Should have went to In-n-Out, as it was on the same block, tastes better and is cheaper. I would have to say the Five Guys fries were probably marginally better, but the cheeseburger was backyard grill style (not in a good way)...and not of very good quality. All in all I think I spent 12 dollars for something that was a few steps down from In-n-Out. It was served in a bag with no tray, which was kind of annoying. Actually I am going to bump up the review to 3 stars because the soda machine has a lot of options. Stop smashing the burgers!!! Any good cook knows that when you smash a burger it loses all of the juices and the flavor, which leaves you with a burger that taste like sawdust. I ask if they could not smash my burger and they told me no flat out. This place was so filthy that the health department should shut them down. 5 guys smashed burger has lost a customer forever unless they change their ways. I'm sure they have a lot of people without refined taste for a good burger that will continue to patronize them. If you have ever had a burger that wasn't smashed to death then you will not like how they treat your burger at this joint. So, I've eaten here twice already. First time, I ate in, and second time, I placed an order on my iPhone app. I'll first start by saying, the online/mobile ordering is great. Placed my order and paid before getting into my car. By the time I got there, I pretty much just picked up my food. As far as all of this mystique and hype regarding the place: In my opinion, the burgers here remind me of a Burger King Whopper (perhaps slightly better, and a little more flavor to the beef, though). It's no doubt tasty, but I think BK Whoppers are tasty, as well, although consistency usually struggles when we're talking about a chain like BK. Fries are good, but nothing really that special, to be honest. The price is essentially double that of In-N-Out, but certainly not worth it. Don't care what you say, if you're opening your restaurant right next to In-N-Out, I'm going to talk about price. The self-praising on the walls is just ridiculous (and, if you notice, only written by publications on the East coast where there are no In-N-Outs...Hmmm, coincidence?). Don't want to be a west coast In-N-Out snob, because I honestly don't eat there that often (I actually prefer Habit Grill over both establishments currently), but I think that all of the undying love over the place on the East coast has more to do with not having better options. read more

When you want a big, juicy, fresh, hot burger and real fries, this is the place! Good food, friendly atmosphere, casual, clean. Great soda machines - tons of choices. After hearing much about this place, I went in. I would describe it as a cross between an In and Out and a Fat Burger. The place was clean and air conditioned. The customer service was great. I enjoyed the free peanuts. The menu was a bit limited with no chicken, grilled or otherwise. No onion rings, and no ranch dressing. The burgers themselves were tasty, juicy, and fresh. The fries were a bit disappointing- good flavor, but not crispy. I was very pleased with the variety of soft drinks, including diet sprite and caffeine free diet coke. Don't see what all the fuss is. This place comes in a distant 5th behind Tommy's, The Habit, Fat Burger, and In and Out. My Bun was a mushy mess, and I don't know why everybody likes the fries. They are better than In and Outs, but only because thoose are the worst fries ever. Fries should be some what crispy. Any way save your money. read more

I love how they just slithered into In-N-Out's stomping grounds like that! Makes me laugh. Hey, business is business and then there's smart business :-) Anyway, being pig-minded and in honor of the SIN OF GREED, I ordered their double bacon cheeseburger and fries. They offer a mini burger, or Junior, and that means a single patty. They pile these burgs' toppings up and the wrapped finished product is literally almost 5 inches tall! Their fries are freshly cut potatoes, and a good cut, size-wise (some were pretty long) natural style with the skin still on the tips. They come in regular or cajun (the cajun is very similar to a standard seasoned fry) It was about $17 for 2 double bacon cheeseburgers, 2 fries and a drink. You get free peanuts if you want, in a big box that you scoop out into trays. Fries are served in generous portions. Honestly, I was gorged with food, Ill get the junior next time *_* Their burgers have great flavor, thin meat patties though but thats common. This place is right next door to In N Out, and I happen to think in and out burgers are pretty delicious. so this is what I would do different with this place the next time. I would order my hamburger from the five guys and order my french fries from In N Out. I have been to other Five Guys locations in NoCal and decided to give this location a try after craving one of their burgers. I am not sure if this location is just not as good or if my tastes have changed, but the burger did not have all that much flavor. It was pretty average. The fries were decent, though. Over all, it was not worth the money. Since everyone else is comparing to In-N-Out, I will say that I would still take Five Guys over In-N-Out because at least their fries are edible and they serve bacon. read more

Alright people. Don't believe the hype. Seriously comparing this place to In-N-Out is pretty much out of the question because their styles are so different. Maybe its my expectations because everyone was saying they were gonna ditch a Double Double animal style for Five Guys but from what I ate, it could not compare to anything of that caliber. First of all, the girl taking my order did NOT look like she wanted to be there, but anyway, I shared a regular cheeseburger (which I didn't know was a double stacker) with Cajun fries and my friend ordered the little cheeseburger with regular fries. They got her order wrong, adding and charging her for bacon when she didn't ask for it. To say sorry, they gave her a free drink, which was nice at least. When we picked up our order, I didn't expect it to be in a paper bag and my burger to be tightly wrapped in foil with fries all over the bag. Generous that it was for them to give us so many fries, the moisture from the burger and the fries suffocating it all made the bun soggy and it fell apart in seconds. Albeit the meat was cooked well, there just wasn't anything special about the burger itself. I guess maybe I had to try more toppings on the burger? It was already topped "all the way" style which is a considerable amount of toppings and at $6 for the burger alone, I wasn't keen to adding any more. The fries didn't taste processed and the board saying where they had them shipped out from was cute, but again, nothing amazing that I wouldn't be able to find at a county fair or local burger stand. A friend who met us later on tried their hot dog and I was really hoping for better but it fell flat again, tasting like a regular Hebrew National from Costco. Sorry Five Guys, I really wanted to be impressed by your burgers. Especially since I saw huge signs everywhere I looked in the dining room about how special and awesome your burgers are but I didn't taste it. Came here a few weeks ago with my folks after I decided to check out what all the hype was about. I agree the burgers are delicious but the fries when ordered Cajun styled are overly seasoned. The best among all all the fast food burger joints. I usually go for the bacon cheeseburger with mayo, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms. They have a wide range of toppings that they do not charge extra for. The staff is always great and because I keep going back they always remember me. Also, great great music ....always!! read more

Pros: -Customizable burgers. You have your typical ingredients like lettuce, tomatoes, mustard and pickles but I like that they have other types that not other fast food burger places offer like mushrooms and BBQ sauce. -Fries. They're very generous when it comes to giving you fries. Not only do you get the portion you order but they also toss in an extra scoop in your bag. The potatoes are fresh and seasoned perfectly for me. Cons: -Price. Pretty pricey for a burger (about $4 for a single patty, and about $6 for a double) -Patties. To me, it wasn't that flavorful. The mushrooms and fries won me over. I like the petite cheeseburgers and they I must say have been doing bettter at keeping the establishment clean and even have someone walking around when you dine in asking if you need anything. Sometimes I want to ask for more food! I love this place and hate it because of the calories that it packs. Decent burger, but way overpriced. Even though we said "eat in" they wrapped ouir burgers in foil then bagged them. As a result, they were soggy. My wife ate at one of their places in Atlanta, so we were very much looking forward to the opening. In this case high expectations led to big disappointment. We'll probably not be eating there again. This place is overhyped. I think In & Out across the way is much better and worth your money. Came to this place when it first opened, a lot of seating inside and free peanuts but the floor gets messy with peanut shells not getting cleaned up. Yes, it's cool to have all kinds of toppings with no extra charge but MORE toppings on a burger is NOT necessarily always good. Had the Little Cheeseburger (which is one meat patty, the regular kind has two meat patties). It was just ordinary to me. I'd rather have In & Out or even McDonald's. read more

I really dont understand the hype over Five Guys. In and Out's burger is 10x better. There regular size burger comes with double patties thats why the prices are higher than most fast food restaurants. The little burger is the same size bun just with one patty. This location is right next to in and out. I think I'll be sticking to that. Much tastier burger and cheaper. read more

Been wanting to try this place for the longest time and excited that they finally opened up one in my area. The burgers are pretty decent. Nothing to rave about but they are pretty good. Their burgers come with two meat patties unless you get the little burger which is one patty. I like the fact that all their toppings are free with the burger. They have a pretty big list filled with your usual grilled onions, peppers, sauces, etc. The fries aren't bad either and the regular size is enough to feed 2. Overall, not the best burger place but definitely a place to come to every once in a while. read more

I've been to this Five Guys location several times already, and I love it! The burgers taste so fresh, unlike many burger places. I love the atmosphere. This place is really clean and straight forward. You get to choose all the stuff you want in your burger. It's a tad bit pricey, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars. That is the only con.
