    Chili dog and Chicago dog

Great little spot to grab an amazing hot dog. Their hot dogs have that nice little snap when you bite into it, and the chili was perfect. Will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

ICONIC valley hot dog stand that has stood the test (and taste) of time! You could almost imagine folks eating here from each decade since they opened in 1962... the 60's hippies, 70's rockers, 80's disco, funk & new wavers, 90's rappers & flannel-wearing grunge rockers... Their dogs have serious SNAP, courtesy of casings by Vienna. The all-beef hot dogs are juicy and delicious. Their chili is very mild - even your spice-averse friends could love it. The staff is lovely, the purple-haired girl who will show you pictures of her various hair color experiments through the years and the mellow guy with painted nails (green, the last time) will smile and play along. There is a lovely, shady & breezy outdoor patio with piped in music- Billy Joel, The Eagles, Little River Band & The Doors. The tables have song lyrics painted on them - fun! Plentiful parking in their dedicated lot, but no restroom. One wish: to-go chili in a smaller container. They do have a $40 offering...

Today felt like the perfect summer day to have a Chicago dog so I made a stop at Cupid's on my way back from running errands. Their hot dogs have that perfect snap to them- so good. I also managed to get the perfect shot with The Valley mural in the background lol (all for Yelp!) Customer service is always excellent. Ambiance is nice, there's plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy lunch al fresco. If you haven't yet stopped by for a summer hot dogs, what are you waiting for?

I grew up going to cupids and it's ALWAYS good! The service is always great and friendly. Every variation of hot dog I have gotten is delicious! My favorite is the Chicago dog and my husband loves the chili cheese dogs. They have tables outside to eat but no bathrooms. There's a small parking lot and also street parking. I usually take it to go but decided to sit at a table and eat. I will definitely be back!!

The Cupid Dog with cheese (chili, mustard, onion).

Opened 1962- The Cupid's Hot Dog dynasty started in 1946, with the first location being in North Hollywood. It's no longer there, and unfortunately, many locations have come and gone since they first opened. This Winnetka location is now the oldest. Cupid's menu is as simple as it gets. Five different types of Hotdogs: The Cupid, Reuben, Chicago, Triangle and the Veggie. It's the same dog (except the veggie), with different toppings. I had the Cupid Dog with cheese (chili, mustard, onion). The hotdog had a nice snap and was very tasty. The steamed buns were perfect. Unfortunately, the chili is a bit bland for my liking, but the Triangle dog with cheese was Great (no chili). I could eat a few of those at a time. The relish is very sweet, so I ordered it on the side. Overall, this is a very tasty dog! There is a reason why old school places like this are still around (Munch Box, Bill's Burgers, The Hat, The Bucket, Etc.) The menus are all very simple and the quality of the food stands up. Also, the level of nostalgia is enough for people like me to drive a little bit further. Gotta get a hot dog at Cupid's.

A great old school hot dog stand. It's a walk up counter but there are some picnic tables off to the side in a shaded area. I thought the prices were very reasonable and liked that they had a create-your-own option for hot dogs as well as several pre-set choices. I liked some aspects of my chili dog: the hot dog had a nice snap and the bun was fresh. I was not at all a fan of the chili though. I found it to taste very bland and mealy. I also love having fries with my chili dog but Cupid's doesn't sell them. Some people walk next door to Daglas Drive-in and purchase fries to bring back for their meal. I would return to Cupid's and just skip the chili next time. Helpful tip: Pay with cash and save 4% on your order.

One of the best places in the valley for a chili dog. The hot dogs are snappy and the chili is tasty, not overpowering, oily or salty like most establishments. I've been coming to Cupids for over 30 years and very little has changed. The menu has gotten bigger to include sandwiches but the chili is why you're here. Their meat chili is my absolute favorite and you can order a large container of just chili to go. Lines can be long during lunch but there's plenty of parking and decent seating if you're lucky.

The sausage casing always has a nice snap to it, legit meat service is great this guy is the man and if you have had cupids before, go again, if you haven't had it, go!

Its LABOR DAY! So.. its a good day for a hot dog! Its my 2nd time here The young cook; Nathan was the one making the hot dog today. It was made beautifully! I tried the Reuben hot dog with mustard, cheese & sauerkraut. Not bad! Its a 7/10. But.. taste wise,.. I like the Chicago style hot dog better. It packs more flavors in it so it deserves 9/10 from me. Will stop by again to try the other items.

Love this place cannot ask for a better hotdog

Highly recommend this business to any family or friend the ownership and the employees are extremely knowledgeable, friendly polite. The establishment of this business is amazing. I've been eating here since I was a little kid. I appreciate the chili cheese dog more than anything.

    Cupids since 1946.

Established in 1946. Cupid's Hot Dogs is a no frills hot dog stand with only a couple locations left (Winnetka and Chatsworth). I remember the Northridge location growing up in the SFV (no longer there). This location in Winnetka keeps it simple: hot dogs (4 kinds), Chips, Drinks. The hot dogs have a wonderful snap to them. The chili is on the blander side and thin consistency- you either love it or don't. I like their Reuben Dog; it has sauerkraut, cheese, and mustard. Yummy! There is a cute small outside patio on the premises. It's shaded by trees. Pay Cash and get 4% off. Cards accepted as well. Private Parking is available on their private lot.

I went to Cupid's Hot Dogs since I was craving chili dogs, and these were perfect. Definitely some of the best in Los Angeles the chili is flavorful, the snap on the dog is just right, and it's served in that classic old-fashioned hot dog stand style. The service was top-notch, friendly, fast, and welcoming which made the experience even better. The outdoor seating area is great, and the new artwork in the parking lot adds a nice touch. Cupid's has never disappointed me. I remember going to the Victory Blvd location as a kid, and I'm glad they're still around serving amazing hot dogs.

Originally opened in 1946 Cupid's is a famous spot in Los Angeles to grab a great hotdog. They have many locations in the valley, this being the southernmost one. Cupid was a nickname of the founder's wife and now it is in the third generation of the family. They have a very large free parking lot attached, and the service was truly great. The employee behind the counter was super sweet and she was very helpful. It was our first time so we wanted to try a mix of items. We ordered the Cupid, the Triangle, and the Reuben. I would suggest adding cheese to the Cupid and the Triangle, which is what we did. All three were really good and the dog itself was very thin but snappy. The whole meal really hit the spot. I also got a cup of chili and thought it was great. Overall, a great place to grab a great hotdog.

Chicago dog seems like a tiny little hotdog.

Ask the Community - Cupid's Hot Dogs

Do the wieners have skin or are they "skinless"?

No they have a skin. They get them from Vienna so it's a beef dog in a lamb casing.

Does the chili have beans in it or is it just meat?

I am happy to say that the chili does NOT have beans! One of the reasons it's so good :)
