Not busy today!

It has been a few years since I commented on Five Guys, and I would have to say very little has changed since my previous review. Still love the juicy burger, which I tend to order wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun, and the fries that remind me of the pier fries at Old Orchard Beach. If you ask for the cheeseburger as it states on the menu, they still ask to clarify if you want the single or the double. If they lack confidence that people are ordering what they want, perhaps. They should change the word "cheeseburger" for "double cheeseburger." Keep in mind that even a small order of fries is really a large order as they fill he cut and then overflow more into the bag. It is about exceeding expectations, I think. The price has gone up a lot since we started going to Five Guys occasionally, but the quality is unsurpassed and the peanuts while you wait are free.

Came in around 6pm and no line. Great start. Cashier was nice, my food came out quickly. The overall restaurant was clean. Ordered a little fry and had enough for 2 people. The burger was not great. Bread didn't taste fresh.

Ordered on the app. Wanted to get a free-style fountain drink for my meal but that's not an option on the app. Ordered it when I arrived and the fact I had ordered my food already confused the server. Two free-style machines but one was out of Coke Zero. Took 11 minutes for them to prepare my order. They do not labor the burgers with a number which is inconvenient. Ate outside and there were a bunch of peanut shells under the table. I noticed they do curbside pick-up. Food was made correctly and tasted great.

How can you not love 5 guys. Close one eye when eating fries out of the bag because of oil staining but again, always good!

My sister had the prime dip and I went for the turkey brie - both were delicious and super satisfying. Service was great too - everyone was friendly and welcoming, which always makes a difference. The drinks were priced great and the soup and burgers were so good! But I went 01/10/2026 at 230pm (busy rush for a pub on a Saturday) and I ordered a burger and soup because they have a soup of the day each day, who doesn't love that. Well my soup came out quick and I was pleased with that, it was chicken orzo soup, so good! Well I start getting to the soup and thought oh wow they put cheese in here, didn't tell me it would have cheese and I'm rubbing it around in my mouth cause I like to taste my food you know? Well it wasn't cheese...... IT WAS SOMEONES CHEWED MINTY GUM IN MY MOUTH STUCK IN MY TEETH I got sick (in a napkin of course) and informed my server, ran to the bathroom some more getting sick and when I came back my server informed me I wouldn't pay for anything, I made a comment that maybe the dishwasher didn't do a good job but the server told me he wish that was the case that it was intended for an employee on break and he thought it was mine in the window and it wasn't, he apologized, well I took a couple shots of whiskey to kill the bacteria hopefully. I asked for a manger to come talk to me because I work in the food industry and I don't feel it was handled correctly, he informed me the manger was not there he had to text her to get the approval for the bill. So I was definitely taken back. I have never had anything like this happen to me and the two girls I was with also tasted the soup because I said it didn't taste right and they was literally given a bill for their 15$ burgers and I got a 10% card to hopefully come back. I have called twice to talk to a manger and have not gotten through to anyone, I've seen messages online to suspected owners and still nothing back, I was told the guy with the gauges in the kitchen is the one that did it, I woken up with a sore throat today and will be going to get tested and they will be informed of my medical bills by a lawyer. PS my friend ordered a burger Togo a few hours later for her aunt I went in to get the burger and pay with my 10% card and the short haired short server with glasses was seen laughing at the computer about the situation, I just don't think it was funny at all.

I like this nearby location in Mount Dora because a) I have the app where I can score points for Rewards (value meal today scored me 99 points!), b) it's easily accessible with a drive-thru and lots of parking, and c) the staff are always friendly. I also appreciate that whenever I visit a Culver's someone is walking around cleaning up. Finally, these days I feel a value meal should land somewhere around the $10 mark - like my meal today did. My cheeseburger was delicious and came with lettuce, tomato, (raw) onion, ketchup, and mayo. Although the cheese was barely melted on the patty, the bun was a touch cold, and the sweet tea was pretty weak, I am still grateful that my food was good, the bun was not stale, and I didn't experience any "rumble tummy" afterwards. There are many fast food options out there - I still see Culver's as a solid choice. And don't even get me started on the sinfully delicious custards - YUM!

They have a bar area, inside seating and a beer garden. Part of the beer garden is under cover so it worked for us. There were Thursday specials and the beer menu could be viewed through a code on your phone. Our server quickly took our drink order, which for me was the $5 margarita special. The menu has interesting choices of a variety of empanadas, salads, burgers, bowls, entrees and sandwiches. I opted for a bowl with Mac and cheese and beef. Food arrived quickly and for me it was the perfect portion. For my husband, it wouldn't have been. The Mac and cheese was good, and the meats which were ground beef, brisket and short ribs cooked in a sauce were excellent. Our server was efficient and helpful. We were too full for dessert, but they looked interesting.

The road (S Highland St.) can be busy. There are adjacent parking lots across the streets in front and on the brewery side (Liberty Ave and S Highland St.). It seems easier to park there and can help make entering the roadway much easier. Kat took care of us. She answered any questions we had. She was knowledgeable about the menu and even made food and drink recommendations. We had shareable appetizers and also ordered individual meals. I sampled the Kettle Chips and the Abbey Nachos. The Kettle Chips were absolutely delicious. They wee fresh and beautifully seasoned. I ordered the Sanctum Steak & Egg from the Brunch menu. Brunch is available Saturday and Sunday from 12-4pm. Side options included Tater Tots or Fruit. I opted for the Tater Tots. The Sanctum Steak & Egg was assembled on a Brioche Bun with a generous serving of Bellringer Aioli. The sandwich was flavorful and very filling. The Tater Tots too were fresh and perfectly seasoned. They were hot, crispy and delicious. I indulged in the Lavender Dream Drop seasonal cocktail. My only complaint was that the glass it was served in was not big enough. There was a good balance and taste of the vodka, lemon juice and housemade lavender syrup. I would definitely return to Eden Abbey for a few repeat flavors and an opportunity to try other menu items. I inadvertently and accidentally deleted the food pics! I was photo dumping and must have deleted by mistake. SMH Well, guess that means I have to visit again to get more pictures.

The Southern burger was great, but I tossed off the raw onions as I absolutely hate them, and added the lovely pickled onions from my wife's salad, which gave the perfect amount of flavor and color. Don't you agree? Give me a LIKE if you do !!! The crepe was next level. Delicate crepe, very soft ripe bananas, sauce was not disgustingly sugary, and the vanilla ice cream was smooth and soft, not icy and sweet. Dunno what brand they use, or if they churn the cream fresh in-house, but it made my day.

There are lots of delightful restaurants there (according to yelpers) but many were located downtown and parking was hard to find so we decided to go to Fifth Avenue Streatery since we had driven by and there was lots of parking. All of which the tables are outside on a charming patio with lots of interesting decor. It was 11:30 so the day was pleasant and sitting outside was fine. Not sure how I would feel about that in August. Our waitress was Haley (guessing at the spelling) and she was bubbly and very attentive. The menu wasn't overwhelming and I always think that's a good sign that most of the food is being prepared fresh and not pulled from a freezer. My mom ordered the fish sandwich with tomato and cucumber salad. After ordering the Italian Haley said they were out of beef until the owner arrived so I went for the day's special which was a seafood basket: two pieces of fried fish, four huge shrimp and clam strips. Clam strips are not my favorite but these were very crisp and tasty. It was served with fries and cold slaw. We both agreed the food was very good. I asked for some cocktail sauce and after a few minutes she came back with saying she had to make some. It was fantastic, very horseradish forward which I loved. I am glad we couldn't locate our first two choices since we got to eat at this funky little place and have the best server in all of Mt. Dora.

I think I also had high expectations since they have been awarded some accolades as well. It's located in downtown Mount Dora, which is a very cute are. It's walkable and there's some parks on that road. We got there, it is an opening seating arrangement and a small restaurant. It was really cute and they have wine slushies and I wish I could have had some of those. I got a regular smash burger with truffle parm fries. It was definitely on the more expensive end of food. The burger was not really a true smash burger, but it was fine. I would rate is a 7/10. The truffle parm fries were an 8.5/10. It was definitely made well, I just think I wish both items had more flavor to it. The truffle parm fries felt like it used truffle oil, which is fine, but I couldn't taste it strongly. I could smell it, but not taste. The burger, I just wished was actually smashed into the griddle where it gets really crispy. I will say the customer service was excellent. They misheard my partner order an extra patty and they brought it out to him immediately. Otherwise, they have a lot of sauces and other little things to place on the burger, so maybe that's why they keep it more basic. I did not see all that till after I already ate the whole thing. Overall, I think it's good and an 7/10 restaurant. I'd like to come back and try it again to get a better opinion of it.
