When we got our drinks, we were unable to find a table to sit at which was clean. As such, we wiped down our own table. We noticed that there was trash all over the floor as well as food shrapnel everywhere. Garbage cans were overflowing. FIVE staff members behind the counter. Two were working hard cooking and prepping. Three of whom were playing some sort of game with lemons. I have no idea what they were doing, but if you have time to fiddle with lemon wedges, get your butt from behind the counter and clean something. There was NO excuse for such a filthy place to eat. The restaurant was decent. The music was a little loud and almost no tables were clean (we just got a napkin and pushed all the crumbs to the floor and sat at a table anyways). The guy taking our order was extremely friendly and patient. The order came out super fast and hot. Delicious meat and cheese. Great mushroom. The tomatoes however, very crispy. Not my favorite at all. Sliced very very thick too. I ended up not eating them. But overall it's a pretty good burger joint for a chain. I went to five guys in Midland to pick up our internet order. They said it would be ready at 7:12 and I got there at 7:10. The girl at the register told everyone I was there and showed me where to wait. During the 40 minutes or so I waited, I noticed that people who came in after me and ordered at the register had finished their meals and were leaving. A couple of the people working there figured out that my order was actually ready before I ever came in. They gave me the burgers and I left. I would be mad but the food is just too good. Today I went to Five Guys. Ordered the cheese and bacon with fried onion, jalapenos and A1 with a side of fries. It was really good! Way better than getting a McDonald's or something similar. The burgers are called out to the line after you order it so everything is as fresh as possible. The fries are hand cut amd came out AMAZING! Another plus: They have Malt Vinegar available for a topping. If you haven't tried it, you have been missing out! You will toss all ketchup in the trash after you do. The jalapenos are fresh, not the pickled crap. Thats a key indicator for me.. if a restaurant cares about food quality, they NEVER use pickled jalapenos.. its a cop out and a really telling sign. I liked it, but I've rarely met a freshly cooked burger that I didn't. Very friendly servers. Expect to pay $8-10 for the burger, $3-5 for fries, and $3 for a drink/shake. My bacon cheeseburger was average size, warm and juicey, but nothing special. The bun was sad. The regular fries were def above avg though. Piping hot, thick cut, perfectly salted in an above avg sized portion. My Cherry-Oreo Cookie shake was a little above avg too, but on the small size. All-in-all a decent lunch. Just a little too cramped and too much of a fast-foody feel to it for my tastes. For the same price, you can have a truly outstanding burger that's tastier, bigger, and with a great bun to boot just 2 mins away at GRUB. They are slow and don't mind making people wait. They don't make the burgers correctly. Gave my wife about 1/4 of the veggies needed to make a good burger. They don't season the fried enough. That place needs better management and all around new staff. read more

I like their burgers, it is not too greasy and i like how you can add diff toppings on it. Order online and avoid the lines. We ordered online and picked up our food around noon. It was very busy and packed because of the small dining area. We ordered 3 burgers for pickup to take home. When we got home we opened the bag to notice that the foil wrapping on two of the burgers were torn and partly open as if they had been "returned" by a prior customer who got our order (yuck!, and dangerous given the threat of COVID-19). And on top of that these two burgers had the wrong toppings. These kinds of things only happen when employees and their managers don't really give a "$#!t". When burgers are all you do, do it right. Only offering "well-done" for temperature is the first red flag of a bad hamburger joint. At worst, "medium-well" should be the option. At best, any temperature should be an option. Another red flag for a bad hamburger joint is one choice of cheese: American. Come on, get with the program. Cheddar should be the mainstay, with other cheeses as an option. As for my specific experience, the first thing I noticed when I walked in was how small the dining area was. There were people standing around waiting on tables, as well as people standing around waiting on take out orders. However, the parking lot was not full. I believe the building to be too small. The line to order was short, though, so I was quickly able to place my order. The menu is not very clear, in my opinion. It doesn't specify that a regular hamburger has two beef patties and a junior one has only one beef patty. The cashier was quick to explain the difference but I think it would be better on the menu. I decided on a bacon cheeseburger and my partner decided on the regular cheeseburger. We also split a "little" order of cajun fries and a drink. The bill came up just short of $25! Wow, very expensive for a little burger joint!! We patiently waited on a table and our food (10-15 mins) and I filled the drink with some Coke Zero. I waited approximately 5 minutes to do that since there was only one out of two machines working. Additionally, the machines are the newer model digital ones that offer a ton of drink choices. Try watching people who are unfamiliar with these machines work their way thru the menu. You can imagine why it took five minutes just to fill my drink. Why would one machine already be broken after being open only a few weeks?? Now for the food. The burgers were decent for the limited options available. The meat was overcooked, as to be expected when it was advertised that "well-done" is the only way they will serve a burger. I believe that whoever packed the order must have overfilled the fries, however, since there were easily enough to split between two people. I find it hard to believe that the "little" option is normally such a large portion. For the taste of the cajun fries, they certainly had a ton of seasoning. They were overly seasoned in my opinion and were difficult to eat without attempting to wipe off some of the seasoning. Final verdict: total fail. I will not be returning to this place, especially with the other burger joint options available in Midland. Just my two cents. Try at your own risk if you dare! Be prepared to overpay! read more

First time even hearing of this place. It's a holiday and we just didn't want to cook at home. My mother, my daughter and myself all agree this was a place that reminded me of In & Out Burger. Fast service, all employees where nice and fast pace. Even while waiting in line an employee helped me get to a table get a high chair and brought note cards and crayons for my daughter. Food was as good as described on the posters and signed inside and outside of the building. I would definitely recommend this place to families big and small. The dinning room seems a little crowded. This Midland Five Guys forces me to bring back the old Wendy's catchphrase "WHERE'S THE BEEF!!" We have patronized this place 3 times now. Once eating in, that experience was okay. Agreeing with many of the other complaints on here, ie eating pretty much cafeteria style with your neighbors. The last two times my husband brought mine home to me. First, I'd figure out a way to package my "to go" orders besides wrapping them up in heavy duty foil b/c they come home soggy!! BUT my bigger complaint is the patty!! Both times my hamburger had 1/2 a patty. It doesn't help that they shrink it to death overcooking it and charred the outer part til it was crunchy!! And when we spent $40 for a family of 4, $10 a piece! The quality of the food does not justify the cost. Go to Basin Burger or even Texas Burger. Also, whomever is slicing the jalapeños needs a lesson in slicing!! Went to eat there for the first time after a new opening, I wasn't that impressed. The burgers were a little bit over cooked but still plenty eatable and the worst part was I had to pay a extra $3-$4 for soggy fries. The burger to bread ratio was terrible and the whole meal was extremely over priced for a burger joint, let alone the low quality they served. I've eaten at 5 Guys in several cities and this one is just lacking something. Normally my burger is hot and the American cheese is thoroughly melted by the time I open it. Here, the cheese isn't, as if the burger was allowed to sit in the open, cooling off, before it was wrapped up. After trying out the Odessa location over a year ago and getting terrible service, the teen talked me into giving them another try at the Midland location on 1/1. Never again!! Not only was the place like a meat locker, forcing us to eat with our coats and hats on, during a 40F day but the service was just as terrible as I remembered and this with us being one of three tables there. I ordered the veggie sandwich with cheese & A1 and received a cold bun with some grilled onions, a few thick slices of raw bell pepper, a tomato slice and tons of lettuce. Took it back to ask for the missing grilled mushrooms, A1 and cheese. Handed me the mushrooms in a cold metal tray then had to wait forever on cheese to be added to the bread. By the time I had everything in front of me, everything was ice cold. Hubby's burger was missing the bacon and cheese. The teen's was correct; hard to mess up only meat and lettuce.
