The food at this location is amazing. No complaints. The fries are cooked perfectly. The service is great. I forgot to order fries and the counter person asked if I wanted them and charged me for little fries. They sell little fries and large but get the little because they fill your bag with fries. The burgers come with whatever add one you want for nothing extra. I got lettuce tomato and pickles. I should e said ketchup but I was able to add that myself. The burgers are double burgers and very filling. The ambiance is very clean. The only downside is that all orders are to go, even if you want to eat it there. I also ordered a drink and got to choose what I wanted. I picked sweet tea. I haven't been to this place since before Covid but wanted to give them a try. Everything at this location is on point. Other locations don't cook the fries enough but this place does. I recommend and I will definitely be back. read more

Ordered online, and the process was easy. Paid online and 10 minutes later we picked up our order. Fries were made fresh, put in the bag with our two burgers, and we were on our way. This was great, until we got home and there were no pickles on a burger where we ordered EXTRA pickles. Extremely disappointing, and if it was just me, I would have gone back to have it made correctly. I was not about to ruin my partner's meal too. We are a big five guys family. But I have to say the past THREE times the orders have been given and taken correctly (as seen on receipt) but when we get home, they are VERY WRONG! so disappointing because I often have an upset child with ingredients they won't eat. The only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because of the guy who gave us our food and how the dining room was set up. There are only 3-4 spots to eat and they don't do a great job of ensuring you know what is off limits and what isn't. Some tables have signs and some don't. All the guy at the counter was rude to a lady who was almost done eating and then decided to address that she was at the wrong table. Ok, I'll admit it...I'm a fan of Five Guys. There, I said it. I don't eat at Five Guys (any location) very often simply because I eat way too much when I do...and I DID when I stopped by this location the other day. My son had just gotten through a long practice and was hungry so we stopped here on the way home. My son ordered a single cheeseburger and I ordered the double bacon cheeseburger with a bunch of toppings (fried onions, jalapenos, ketchup, pickles and lettuce) and we ordered fries. Cashier: Would you like a shake with that? Me: Wait...What?!? Yeah, the Five Guys I usually patronize do not have shakes so this took me by surprise...and we ordered a peanut butter and a chocolate with our meals. Burgers were great as always (honestly I think these are great burgers) and they did the fries well-done like I like them. The shakes were just ok...I don't know what I was expecting, but I know it didn't hit the mark (I know, that's probably unfair, but your taste buds just know when they haven't been wow'd). The service was a little slow, and they gave my son a double patty instead of a single, but overall it was a good experience-service with a smile, good food, and they even have shakes.. The cajun fries are worth a try and no matter what fries you buy with a burger always order less than you think you need because you will get more than you expect even if you have been here before. Had a large group lunch ordered from here. The fries portions are huge, and they definitely give more than enough - 7 of us shared 3 large orders. The cajun fries were definitely a hit, although they could've been a bit spicier. They don't hold up to travel for long, though. The burgers - a junior is 1 patty, a regular is 2. Most of us were surprised at how small the junior is... like a McD's double cheeseburger size, effectively. At least you can chose all the topping you want, at $3.99 a burger, it's much like any I can pull off on the grill, except no cleanup, and it's the middle of winter. Mushrooms and grilled onions are definitely a nice touch - I have to try ordering it with triple of each under the special orders. Their fax machine wasn't working as of Monday, 3/16, though, otherwise their intuitive menu would've been easy to order from. Not sure how this place got such great reviews?! My husband and I thought it was pretty bad. We ordered the double bacon cheeseburger and little cheeseburger with all the toppings, a little fry, and a malted milkshake. First off, the milkshake was DELICIOUS! One of the best milkshakes I've had. The burgers and fries, on the other hand, were not so good. The burgers didn't taste like anything! They were missing something...maybe more salt, I'm not sure. The meat patties were too small, and I was left with a bunch of bun and toppings and no meat to eat them with. Also, the toppings kept falling off our burgers, and they weren't even tasty. This was the worst online order pick up at Five Guys-Madison NJ. The two seemingly in charge of organizing the bags were not communicating, there was a major back up for online orders waiting--when I stepped forward to find out where my order was (and I had been standing waiting 10-mins already) the guy showed me the bag that evidently had the burgers but no fries, I confirmed it was my order and he put it back on the shelf only to then help other orders--giving fries to people who were walk-in orders at the front, who had walked in at least 5-10mins behind us...???...this is not the service we're used to from Five Guys, very disappointed--order was supposed to be for 6:30pm, we finally picked up at 6:47pm...no words...just hope the burgers are still warm when we get home since they'd sat in the shelf for about 15-mins or more. I don't eat fast food, this place is NOT fast food. Some of the best tasting burgers around! Don't have to spend a lot to eat good here. The food is always fresh and cooked fairly quick. Their fries are amazing, the shakes are fantastic, and their burgers are life changing! They cook their fries in peanut oil as a healthier alternative but overall the place is super clean and super fresh. I get it, with respect to what a successful franchise looks like. The menu is dead-simple and therefore a greater emphasis can be placed on quality. However, this particular franchise has some problems. You'd think fourteen people working the assembly line would turn around food a little faster, but no, that's not true. One person working a register gets the customers backed up, then the fourteen Keystone Kops miraculously make your burger happen about eight minutes later. Eight. Given that it's either a burger or a hot dog, you'd think they might queue up a few based on walk-in sizes. Okay, let's say they don't, it's still a mess back there. You get to watch the controlled chaos while cooling your heels. So what's it like there? Busy, but we still managed to find a free table even at lunchtime rush. Free refills on the soda, and hey, Barq's (has bite). Okay okay, the burger. Good. Fresh. Jalapeños were fresh and not pickled, a major plus. I thought I detected Frank's hot Sauce, another plus. Onions were fresh, meat and cheese appropriately tasty and greasy. Bun was average, fresh but a little chewy. Skip the Cajun-style fries, 100% not worth it for a large. A little over twelve bucks for a burger, fries, large soda... in my opinion, Wendy's does this burger as good or better, I can get chili instead of tasteless fries, and the largest soda at Wendy's is about four gallons, give or take a quart. This is a re-try of Five Guys. Wasn't impressed the first time, but I was too generous. Atmosphere doesn't work for me and it's all downhill from there. Cheeseburger, fries, coke = $11. Meat strikes me as flavorless, and there's something off-tasting about their cheese. Just thinking quickly about chains: Fuddruckers, Ruby Tuesday, or Steak'n'Shake beat this like a rented mule for that kind of money. For that matter, I think a Hardee's Thickbuger is an order of magnitude better - AND it's an order of magnitude cheaper. Sorry, I just don't get this one at all. Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon. Not many customers at the time. Asked for a bacon cheeseburger. Specifically requested that the cheese be melted on TOP of the burger, not on the bun. Got to my table, unwrapped the foil covering and found NO cheese at all ! The "bacon" was unrecognizable as bacon, and was found on the bottom of the bun, sort of pressed into it; it looked like movie prop bacon. Went back to the register, complained. The burger was brought back out; they added two Kraft-Like squares of cheese to the top; both were cold and not melted ! BTW, the "beef" was tasteless. FYI, I could find a great cheeseburger at any number of cafes in and around my neighborhood that do NOT specialize in burgers; Five Guys fast food "cooks" at this place looked like they were still in high school. It must be pointed out that the manager came over to my table and took exception to my complaint; can you believe it! Standing alongside her was a bouncer-type individual. I thought this all too dramatic and refused to speak to either of them and asked them to leave my table which they did. The ONLY items that were edible here were the soft drinks and the peanuts. I do not usually stop at places like this; this was a rush-stop lunch; never again. Hint: if you, the reader, are near Bloomfield, NJ, stop in at Holstein's on Broad St., Bloomfield, corner of Watchung Ave. (This is a landmark soda fountain cafe and the place where the last scene of the Soprano's was shot.) Ask for the bacon burger with sauteed onions; you will then experience what a CLASSIC juicy, tasty burger is supposed to be like. After visiting the old Madison during my winter break I can only be pleasantly surprised when I met up with my friend at the new burger joint called 5 Guys. This plus is HUGE and very affordable and cheap (the kind of cheap that makes a college student like me tingle with glee). Although it may never match up to Cali's In-n-Out I'm enjoying the fact that you can get a nice sized burger, a set of fries and a soda all for the price of 5 dollars or under. The toppings and what goes inside the burger is free too! I was a little disappointed they didn't ask me how I like my meat to be cooked but what can I say? Free toppings and having a great time there is all that matters. The only downer about this place is the fact is on the OTHER SIDE of the country from Cali =(. This is my favorite burger in New Jersey (in New York, it's Shake Shack and Bareburger). I'm not hungry for the rest of the day when I eat one. They are satisfying and tasty. I also like the peanuts-- they're something to snack on while you wait. The waiting time may be more than what seems at first-- it looks like there's only a few people ahead of you at the register, but then there's a whole bunch of people who have placed their orders and paid and are sitting all around the tables. 5 Guys has one of my favourite fast-food burgers out there. The toppings you can get are great, I always love grilled onions and having pickles on my burger. I think the portions of the regular burger (the two patties) is quite large! I always feel full after. Plus, this place has the coke freestyle machine which is always enjoyable. I also really enjoy their fries, particularly their cajun ones. They give you large portions and even a "small' fries ends up being a lot. Overall this is a delicious, satisfying burger meal that's easy and quick to get. It's really nice to have something customizable to your liking without it costing more per item (like a restaurant or any other place would). And for the people whining about wifi, seriously? You can't just go 10 minutes without checking your phone? Just eat your damn burger. read more

On Saturday evening I came in to pick up two door dash orders, the first one was ready but the other one was taking really long to come out and I asked about it a few times only to find out that it was never being made. Due to the wait for the second order, the customer of the first complained to the store and asked for it to be re made fresh, and when the manager Mike handed the newly made order after I told him the customer complained, he gave me really bad attitude as if it were my fault and said "make sure you bring BOTH of them to here you hear?" insinuating I would steal one for myself which I would never do. not only do I take my job seriously I have never stolen a. thing in my life and I didn't appreciate how he was quick to make that comment as if I wouldn't defend myself. It's gotten much more common today to find businesses that offer complimentary WiFi for their patrons. This isn't one of them. There are Comcast, TimeWarner, and Cablevision hotspots , but you need to be one of their customers. They do load up your order with fries so unless you are prepared to either split them or bring some home, order the small (although it's still a ton of fries). Their lone hot dog on the menu is good. They don't have sauerkraut. A little disappointing but apparently down south (where this company was founded) they don't eat dogs with kraut. When I order a burger I get the single. Throw some grilled onions, pickle, cheese and ketchup and it tastes like a gourmet White Castle slider. It's a casual environment and it does get busy during lunch. I like this place a lot better than say a fudruckers, fat burger, in-n-out, etc... The fries are wonderful, cooked in peanut oil and come in a huge bag. A regular order is all that is needed for 2 or 3. Cajun spice option is a nice alternative if that's your thing. I have such a weakness for this place. I know it's SO bad for you, but I can't stop (well, at least every once in awhile). You have to put the malt vinegar on the fries and THEN dip them in ketchup. An hour wait from the time my order was supposed to be done. I get it, they're busy. We're in the midst of a pandemic. But when I approached an employee to inquire into the status of my order, I was treated unprofessionally...like I was a child. Never again. When I tell you this Five Guys has the BEST customers service I mean THE BEST. The burgers are obviously amazing, the fries are always great but man o man I must say the customer service is what really blows me away here. Any other five guys is good and has ok service but the Five Guys in Madison is hands down the best service I have ever had in ANY RESTAURANT. I came here one night and I was having a terrible day, I walked in and ordered my food and the cashier made was so happy to be there and it completely shifted my negative attitude and made the rest of my Nighy phenomenal. There's not a whole lot to be critical about. This location is really clean, the staff is amazing in just about every way, and the food is consistently good. I have gone here on multiple occasions both for lunch and for dinner. I snack on complimentary peanuts while I wait, and by the time I finish one cup, my order is ready. The hot dogs seem a little expensive, though - they're just dogs. But the burgers are brilliant, and I highly recommend trying this place if you haven't been to a Five Guys. read more
