The first time I tried Five Guys was years ago in D.C. I don't believe they had locations in Washington state until years later. I was in Kirkland recently and was invited to a group lunch here. If you haven't been to Five Guys, you may not be familiar with the peanuts. Grab a scoop and have at it. I don't like peanuts so I don't touch them. Others seem to enjoy it quite a bit. The menu is somewhat limited. Don't get me wrong, there are burgers, fries, and sodas here. You won't find shakes, onion rings, sundaes, or anything more than burgers, fries, and sodas. I like that they make their own patties and my absolute fave is the cajun fries that have a bit of tasty, salty spice to them. They got my order wrong today as in didn't hear it correctly, mixing up "grilled onions" for "mushrooms" because they sound alike. The staff was friendly and were more than willing to replace my burger to my satisfaction but having already reached the point of hangry (hungry + angry), I declined and ate my burger. Another person's order at my table was mixed up as well. The cashier heard him correct and it was noted on the receipt that he wanted bacon and jalapenos, neither of which was in his burger. He did opt for a new burger since he had gorged himself on peanuts to hold him over. Again, the staff was more than willing to accommodate him by letting him keep the old burger (which he didn't want) and make him a new one. FYI...the jalapenos are raw, which was a bit strange and mild. Overall, the food was edible and the service was good. I am impressed by their willingness to make things right and during down periods, while cleaning up the dining room, a staff member made conversation with a number of different groups. read more

The food was great but this location is lacking heat. It literally was 60 degrees or possibly colder. Do they not have a heater?

Yikes! Dropped $22 for my wife and two kids (I didn't want anything), and ended up with a grease bomb burger and fries. I did end up eating some of their fries because the store got our order wrong and charged us for an unexpected extra large fry cup. My wife, me, and one of my kids went to bed with upset stomach from the food.... yuck. Certainly not worth the high prices for what I expected to be a much better experience. read more

For a burger joint this place is good. However I will only eat here the once. The fries are a meal all in them self (yes a whole days worth of calories in one bag.) I only eat grass fed beef for health reasons and so have not tried their burgers. However I feel that I would rather spend a little bit more and get better quality calories. read more

Love five guys, hate this location. The workers have messed up my order multiple times. Also I went in their once with a gift card and they said it wouldn't scan. I told them last time that the cashier punched the number in manually and they said that it still should work while swiping. I asked hen to just type it in manually and they refused. I didn't have time to argue so I paid cash. The next day I went to the Redmond location and they punched the number in manually and it worked fine. 5 guys is nothing special, and the fries are terrible. Everything is served to go so the fries get soggy in the bag. The worse part about 5 guys is the service, the employees treat you like it is some sort of secret society, are you serious? I'm not applying for the freemasons, I just want a burger. I'm a big sauce person, when I asked for fry sauce, they looked at me like I was putting spinners on a Bentley. If you want a good burger, go, well, not to 5 guys. If you want an okay burger and crappy service, there is a prefect place for you! read more

Personal favorite since I usually work all day in the area and I love a good burger at the end of the day, great atmosphere just like every five guys. They are new but the quality of the burgers is like every other five guys, also noting the new soda machines... I havent seen so many combinations in my life! read more

The Kirkland location seems very well run; the staff is attentive and focused, the facility squeaky clean, and the food good to very good.

First time lunch here. I got the regular size burger, the small would have been fine. Burgers are huge ! I also had a side of cajun fries. I loved the burger, though it was a bit messy, about a 10 napkin burger, LOL ! just got the regular stuff, lettuce, tomato, pickle & onion, it was very good. fresh tasty bun. everything was hot. The "small" fries I got was a full bag, I would have thought it was a large if I didn't know I ordered a small. didn't like the fries that much, and they didn't have tarter which is my favorite with fries. so, only had a few fries. Almost managed to finish the burger though, really great place. I will have to try some of the other more unusual toppings next time, they have a lot of choices. read more

Every time I go to a five guys I feel ripped off. It's a burger with nothing on it, anything you want can be added but each item costs money so if you want ketchup, cheese, onion one pattie that's a $7-8 burger. read more

I am a big fan of large quantities of juicy well cooked 1st rate beef and they have plenty. I however to my own dishonor. cannot eat two of these juicy patties so I have to settle for a small burger, and that's what I recommend I do get the jalapenos, mushrooms and onions plus everything else on it. I think that for the quality of ingredients the price is right. Fries are awsome. Peanuts too. At this location however don't get any shells on the floor. The lady that sweeps it looks a little menacing. I do love the hightech drink dispenser, and malt vinegar. Good Job 5 Guys for finding a loyal customer for life. read more

LOVE THIS PLACE! By far the best classic burger joint in the Pacific Northwest. Having moved here from Cali, we really missed In n' Out, but man oh man did that longing totally get obliterated from the first bite out of one of these classic all American burgers. I walked in with absolutely no expectations, and wow it was really good! Nothing to freak out over about like crazy toppings and "10 pound burger challenges", it was just a really good nice textured burger. All five guys are the same. But what set this place apart was that they processed my online order when I got there and didn't have it ready by the estimated pick up time. I couldn't really "skip the line" like it says to since there was only one person at the register, plus that didn't matter since nothing was made. I like that the restaurant is clean and the employees look clean and you can see that because the kitchen is open. So I'd prefer to have a burger/food here rather than some other place for that reason alone. The burger tasted real, so to speak, sort of reminded me of In-N-Burgers but the bacon was a scant amount and the cheese wasn't that high of quality. However the fries were terrific. The customer service was great too even though they got my order wrong the first time but I could tell they were upset at themselves and were really trying hard to give great service, which they did overall. The only drawback with the two Five Guys Burger joints I've been to, is their music is way too loud for my taste. I hear it blasting in my ears and all I can think of doing is eating my food as fast as I can and hurrying out. I tried to find a place in the restaurant where the music wasn' t so loud but their system is so well installed that they have the whole restaurant equally covered with speakers. I was hoping this Five Guys would be different than the first but the music was even louder than the other restaurant. For sure next time I'm ordering ahead and taking my food to go along with their great salty peanuts, that is, if I don't remember to bring ear plugs. I'm glad they opened where they did because I pass there daily. Just have to remember the ear plug. read more

Bright, clean, no clutter, very nice staff and fast service. The burgers are done well and are juicy with out being greasy. You get to choose what condiments you want on your burger and they do not put so much on your burger is swimming. They seem to use a higher quality product than most places. We were not sure about the peanut oil fries but actually it gives the fries a nice flavor and after taste. Both the fries and burgers were seasoned well. My son said it was nice to finally have a fountain soda that was mixed properly and tasted like the bottled pop. Reasonably priced........ As long as they train all their staff to be consistent the food should always be of good quality instead of hit or miss like most burger joints. Thanks for dinner! read more

Fires were good but the burger was one of the worst I've ever had. The meat tasted like the cheapest burger you might find at your local grocery store. If it had any seasoning on it of any kind I couldn't taste it. After spending $15 for a burger and fries I tried to finish the whole thing but just couldn't do it. read more

Way disappointing. Okay, they get points for clean place and friendly order taking, and especially for the intention to have yummy grilled onions.. But they lose points for super over-priced / under-sized shake and tasteless burger. I wasn't even impressed with the onions, and it's really hard to mess up a grilled onion-- good grief just go to Bellevue's Arts & Crafts fair every year or any other outdoor event and you'll taste the massive oniony difference. I'm not sure what was missing or if it was the peanut oil on the grill that sabotaged this meal for me, but this was not a good taste experience. Plus, not even drive through. And no wifi for guests! I really enjoy the food prepared here, the meat is juicy and the add-ons are fresh, but the staff really leaves something to be desired. I'd been looking forward to a burger all morning and when I arrived and placed my order not only did I receive a sassy attitude when I asked questions about the burger I wanted, but they also made my burger wrong after I double checked all the items with the sassy young girl at the front counter. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with Jalapeños, BBQ sauce, onions, and pickles. Not only did the cashier treat me like an idiot for asking what kind of onions they used, but when I got home and unwrapped burger, there was lettuce instead of pickles! I even double checked the receipt to make sure she hadn't put lettuce instead of pickles, but the receipt lists my order correctly. Five guys uses great ingredients and my burger was still very tasty, but lettuce is completely incapable of complimenting BBQ sauce the way pickles do. If everything works as it should, like my past couple experiences before today at Five Guys, I would rate them 5 stars easy. But the staff is not worthy of that as of 7/24/16. read more
