This location didn't have many issues before, but now they have workers who make you wait sometimes up to 5 minutes in the drive thru. I was halfway through ordering when the worker told me to hold on and then left me sitting there while four other cars went through the other lane. Worst McDonald's in the area. The employees working the night of 5/30/25 were soooo incredibly rude. I pulled up to the ordering machine and there was literally no one in front of me. Not busy at all. The girl taking my order took about a minute and a half to greet me while I sat there wondering if they were even open. Once she finally answered, she was rushing me the entire time I was ordering and kept telling me the total. I kept having to say "oh im sorry I wasn't done ordering yet". Apparently, you're not allowed to order more than one thing or you're super annoying. I pull around the corner and there is one car. Several employees inside. The guy who gave me my food said maybe one word to me and then was pissed off I was using Apple Pay?? Not a single car behind me. Why do you hate your customers? Pretty nice McDonalds with quick and friendly service. Everyone already knows what the menu is at every McDonalds so it's a moot point to really review the food options. What I can say is that McD's appears to have been updated recently so the setting is very modern and clean. The staff is very organized and provides quick and friendly service. The general mood of patrons is low key and hospitable. The restrooms are clean and well maintained. Overall, this is a good McD's to visit and would recommend it for individuals and families. read more

I never thought I'd be writing a McDonald's Yelp review. McDonald's has always been great with the consistency of their food until I came to this one. It was really busy a late evening and I had placed a mobile order which I guess wasn't working at the time. When I got to the drive thru it was just a bunch of young kids talking and yelling about things that customers shouldn't be hearing. The food wasn't that great either unfortunately. Burger wasn't made correctly and the fries were over cooked. The next time I ordered food from here was for breakfast and everything was good. It was my great honor to participate in a McTeacher Night hosted by this location to benefit a young friend dealing with a brain tumor. I have a special place in my heart for local businesses actively involved in the community. For four hours on a Friday night this restaurant was hopping as local teachers volunteered their time and, with the help of regular staff, took orders at the drive thru and counter, assisted people at the self service kiosks, bussed tables and baked cookies. Hundreds of people came to enjoy a meal and support a family. My volunteer position gave me a birds-eye view of the kitchen and boy did those folks work hard! I was especially impressed with a young man named Fletcher who, with a smile and laughter, took on the roll of making sure everyone back there stayed cheerful and motivated. He was a force to be reckoned with and I'm convinced he'll go far in life. This is the location I come to when my family gets that burger or filet of fish craving even though another location is closer to my house. I'm happy to support a business that goes to such great lengths to support the community! read more

I just went to this location tonight at midnight after a night out. When we arrived, the line was long and the wait was as well. I mean, it's McDonald's at midnight what do you expect? I get to order and it was obvious that the staff have had a busy night. I was told to go to the first window and it was a typical payment. At the second window we were met by a young man with long hair, and he said "I apologize for the wait". Which, coming from any fast food restaurant is a surprising apology. We talked a bit about how busy they were, and they said they only had 4 staff and there was an unusual amount of people. When were leaving he said there were only 3 people closing. Throughout the interaction you got the sense like he actually cared about how the experience was for the customers, despite his own personal hardships running a skeleton crew during a random midnight rush. Every time I've come here I've never had an issue with my order, and this young gentleman in particular has had great customer service. I know this place doesn't have the best reviews, but for a McDonald's this place really does a nice job. When I got home the food was well cooked and delicious, and their spicy chicken sandwich was actually comparable to other fast food chicken chains! It's still another McDonald's, but they set themselves apart with their service and at least the food is well put together and competitive to other fast food chains in the area. read more

Really nice modern McDonald's with the best fast food service I've experienced in the Puget Sound. Went in for 2 McRibs and they gave me a number placard which they used to deliver my order to my table. Been staring at my clock in my car and it has now ticked 15 minutes and I'm in the drive through... apparently I ordered the soufflé and or they are slaughtering the cow for the burgers and growing the potatoes for the French fries. When something is missing from the order (like the drink), it's quite rude to sigh, roll your eyes, and leisurely stroll to grab it then give a look of imposition to the customer that PAID for it. I would have bet cash money that there is no such thing as a McDonald's that could wow me - and it's a bet I would have lost. We stopped in here today for a late breakfast, and though we've been to the McDonald's on this spot more times than I'm going to admit in a public forum, this was a completely different experience. This location was rebuilt from the ground up recently, and it shows. The first thing you notice is how modern and sparkling clean everything is. It's decorated for adults, instead of the usual carnival-clown color scheme - much easier to sit and relax. There are fewer places to sit than in the past, but they are roomier and more comfortable. There are several self-ordering stations, along with the clerks to take your order, so you aren't stuck waiting in a big line, and the clerks are actually friendly. They also don't make you stand around waiting for your tray, but instead give you a big table number and bring the food to you. Um, are you sure this is McDonald's? The food was as expected - no changes there - but as we finished our meal, a staff member approached and offered us a free ice cream cone. She'd made one too many for an order and decided to make someone happy. We didn't want one, but the young woman who accepted it lit up with a big smile. It was fun to watch, and the whole meal was just a pleasant experience from start to finish. read more

Who the hell designed this place? Why would you have your primary drive through pickup window marked as pickup 2 with pickup 1 as your secondary? Got to pick up 2 and asked if I should wait at 1 or 2 and the employee waved forward so I assumed that meant pull forward to window 1. Sat there for 5 minutes and look back and see the cars behind me being served and the employee asking them to honk at me to move without my food. Finally tell that I want my food and someone comes up to the window. Took 20 minutes to get through the incompetence of these employees and the person who designed this building. read more

As a self proclaimed Seattle Foodie Elitist, I am more than likely as flabbergasted as you are in my latest impression of McDonald's (at least this particular one). On an early morning breakfast venture, I reluctantly found myself walking into this establishment for a quick pit stop. To the surprise of my preconceived stereo types I found myself amongst others who were enjoying the modernly sterile and clean dinning area, greeted by a smile at the counter with exceptional service rather than a disgruntled employee. After ordering and opting for a dine-in experience, they hand you numbered placard for your table to deliver the tray to your table with the unexpected: "is there anything else we can get you?" And friendly small talk. They do have the new self ordering touch screen machines which I played because I am nerd and I'm to say I approve of the UX. But with service like this, who wants it. I was surprised to find solid wifi options here as well. With an offer to refill my coffee, other than the dings and rings of the kitchen, I actually enjoyed my experience here. The food may not be my ideal meal, but it gets the job done and this service is what would make me come back. Low key happy the mcgriddle is on all day now though. This use to be one of the better McDonald's on the Eastside. That's no longer the case. Three out my last four orders were incorrect. I live close by and go through the drive thru here 2 or 3 times a week because it's convenient. But getting the wrong order 75% of the time isn't convenient. For the first wrong order I was given a double quarter pounder is instead of the double fish o filet I ordered. When I pointed this out I was told that wasn't what I ordered and they seemed confused on how to refund the extra money I paid so I told them it was ok and left without the refund. On the second occasion I was given a Diet Coke instead of the Dr Pepper I ordered. Today I ordered another double fish o filet and was given a single. So I went inside to get the double filet I ordered. When I mentioned to the manager this was the second mistake out my last three orders (I'd forgotten about the Diet Coke mistake) I was told mistakes happen. I don't expect a lot however I do expect to get what I've ordered and a response like "mistakes happen" doesn't make me want to spend my money here. If you stop through the drive thru here it's a good idea to check your order before leaving. There's a Taco Time next door that I plan to start visiting instead of this McDonald's going forward. read more

Okay... I don't write Yelp reviews often, because I usually don't care enough. I moved to totem lake March of 2021, and I've gotten food here quite a few times over the year. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have ordered food, there has been something incorrect, whether it was the wrong drink, charged improperly, the wrong burger, HALF OF MY BIG MAC MISSING, fry, sauce, wrong mods.... Every time, something is wrong. They can't seem to get the right order, and it doesn't matter the time of day. There has only been two people who I think doesn't apply, and it's to the two window workers... I don't know their names, but everyone else seems to not know what the hell they are doing. I've worked fast food, I've made stairs by hand and mixing in a factory with no health regulations, I've done general construction and certified plumbing. When I tell you, making a burger isn't hard? I'm sure everyone can agree... and don't say "it's hard when there's a rush" cause no. I saw at least 6 people working, with 2 cars in front of me, and 1 car behind me when I left. That's not a rush. That's carelessness. It's just a little annoying when it's every. Single. Time. When no other mc Donald's has ever messed up this often... I do not recommend these people at all. Stopped by McDonald's for the first time in a long while as I saw an ad for Chicken McNuggets and was feeling nostalgic. This location is in the Totem Lake area of Kirkland with close access to 405 and a decent amount of parking. I did also like that they have calorie counts on their menu items, though fast food restaurants are doing that in general now. That being said, I would say that this McDonald's rates lowly of the many ones that I have visited. When I got there, I found out that this location did not have the McNugget promotion so I decided to just pick out something else. I went for the dollar menu and picked up a McChicken, side salad and iced tea. The McChicken was small and looked poorly put together, the side salad was a bit watery and seemed more sparse than I remember and the iced tea was exceedingly sweet. I have been staying away from fast food, but if I do get the urge, I would get Jack In The Box or Wendy's over McDonald's. The choices at McDonald's just do not seem appealing enough for the calories you take in. read more

This review is based on my experience since the pandemic started. Prior to that, it was perfection 5/5 every visit. I frequently order through Doordash and it is from this location. It used to be perfect but lately something is amiss. The fries have the dirty oil taste, they're brown, and just not good. Luckily I buy the small size but either way, end up wasting most of them. Is there a new owner, new manager, untrained employees? Clean the darn oil so the fries taste better and like they should. The burgers have been ok, nothing to write home about. The bread seems stale or not as fresh as normal. Again, it didn't used to be this way. This is not a Doordash problem, this is a McDonald's Totem Lake problem. Something has changed and it's not for the good. On a positive note, thank you for being one of very few restaurants who have sealed not only the food but also the drinks in a stickered bag. I haven't been to McD in forever and due to no time and a growling stomach, we ended up in this McD last weekend and were totally surprised. The store is completely renovated with self ordering stations, they bring the food to your table and the bathrooms were nice and clean. Wow! The food is still the same, so nothing new and exciting there, but this store is simply good looking and if you have to have McD, why not go to the ritzy renovated one. :-) Service was also friendly and so much better compared to other stores I've been to in the past. read more

One of my favorite McDonald's. Granted, I've actually never been inside. However, I regularly frequent the drive-thru. Everything is always very fast and well prepared. An anecdote - this morning I came by for breakfast. The line was wrapped almost all the way around the store! I thought "man, this sucks". But, my resolve to start my day with delicious McGriddles was strong, so I patiently got in line. Much to my surprise, I barely stopped moving.
