Five Guys at Cheshire Oaks opened in November 2023, it still looks and feels fairly new, it's located in the unit most recently occupied by Café Rouge until it closed during the pandemic in 2020. Five Guys also has a location nearby at Coliseum Leisure Park, a short walk away, but this location, centrally located within the outlet mall will surely become the busier of the two locations.
I ordered a Little Cheeseburger in a lettuce wrap, for my fillings I decided to go for mustard, ketchup, fresh onion and tomatoes. I like the idea of a lettuce wrap for those who are unable to have or simply don't wish to have the burger bun, which is something McDonald's and co could take note of, while I would prefer a gluten-free bun, it is a reasonable alternative.
I do find the food expensive for what it is, it came to £11.90, but this is no more or less expensive than any other Five Guys as of their pricing in February 2024.
The staff seemed friendly, there was a short wait when taking my order as I had to wait for what I presume was a manager to register the allergy and my gift-card, but all the staff members seemed well trained in regards to allergies and friendly to provide good customer service.
The ketchup and mayo pumps had run out, with it being a busy Saturday in the outlet mall, I can understand that they may not have had time to notice it was empty and refill it. I was offered a pot of mayo so I didn't have to wait, and ketchup sachets were provided on the counter.
My food was pretty good, it tasted fresh and the portion sizes were very generous, I couldn't finish either my burger or my fries, especially with the extra generous scoop in the bag. The fries were hot, everything was fresh. I did find the burger a little messy though, I think the sauces when applied to the lettuce wrap do make it a little more difficult to eat, but it still tasted good.
The interior is comfortable and again like any other Five Guys, it feels slightly nicer than some locations as it is new and still feels fresh even after a couple of months.
4* - It's a good Five Guys and one of the better options to grab a burger at Cheshire Oaks. read more
