Could have used a bit more gravy, yet by the end of it couldn't finish the several remaining fries. To wash it all down, ordered a can of flavored seltzer (£1). Service here was helpful as the lady behind the counter went through the items patiently. Also like that fact that several tables were near outlets to charge our phones. Definitely a great place to stop by.

But lucky for my bf and I, we stumbled upon it as it was opening up for lunch. We were hungry - and good thing because the portion sizes are quite large. But true to poutine fashion it's messy and delicious! They have many different menu items and toppings to chose from - I stuck to bacon and sour cream and I was pleased. They have waffles as well but we didn't get a chance to try those although they looked delicious. Do yourself a favor - and stop in her for a filling lunch or after a night out of drinking.

We followed our simple but brilliant pasta with afogato a dish I have not seen on a menu for decades which had fantastic espresso and a scoop of raspberry ripple again not seen this on a menu for decades and vanilla ice cream. The staff were all very personable and the chef/owner we deduce not only still enjoys cooking but also runs a brilliant individual restaurant in a city of many choices. They brought us a bottle of chilled tap water for no charge, and I also had a filter coffee which was pleasant enough. Almost a five star venue, just a couple of failings prevent this. It was incredible) The food was very simple. The burger was normal sized as were the fries. There was no pretense, this was just a diner serving basic American food. Having not tried ALL the eateries in Cheshire Oaks it'd be wrong for me to call this the best place to eat there. But i bet it'd be pretty close. The locale is never gonna be one for 'fine dining'. Which is fine by me, I'm not exactly a huge fan of culinary pretension. But after a few laps of the shops and with hunger drums beating you'd be a fool if you ignore the delights of Ed's diner. Having been given a £30 voucher by TGI Friday's at London Wembley after a bad experience to make up…read morefor that and to refresh my faith in the TGI Friday's brand, I decided to use it on a visit to Liverpool before watching Manchester City defeat Everton 3-1 at Goodison Park. I must stress this voucher was nothing more than a gesture of good-will and was not for writing a review of any sort. TGI Friday's are known for their large, dark stores with motorbikes, lots of booths, loud music which is a vibe I don't really like - this store, however, is different, it is on the top floor of the Liverpool One next to Wagamama, while also being close to many other chain restaurants including Nando's, Five Guys, Pizza Express and Gourmet Burger Kitchen to state a few. I did book a table in advance, I arrived a couple of minutes early but they did seem to be struggling to keep up with their bookings with many walk-ins being expected to wait half an hour - all the reservation did was push me to the front of the queue ahead of getting a table, they didn't have one ready at the allocated time and I had to wait just over five minutes, being given a pager with no apology for my added wait for the table. The waiting area was also next to the bar and it was really cramped and I wasn't informed what was going on at first - making me feel uncomfortable and I honestly wanted to leave before I had even got to the table which I had booked the evening before. TGI Friday's normally have a gluten-free menu so I was disappointed when I found out they no longer used one and instead had to bring out an iPad - I had to wait again for a manager to take my order which was really frustrating as my server refused to take drinks orders as "everything must be processed by a manager" - surely a simple drink is an easy enough request especially as they wait for the manager was so long he sent another staff member to let me know he'd be there shortly - again refusing to take my drinks order - they wouldn't even offer tap water while I waited! The drinks menu really does need improving - they don't mention vodkas and spirits on their menu, rather their more expensive beers and cocktails - this gave me a nasty surprise at the end to find out the coca-cola mixers were £3.35 each just for a small bottle - a single glass bottle of coca-cola costs more than an unlimited fizzy drink refill (I wasn't offered this or informed about it) - it wasn't just for the sugar tax either as other full-sugar drinks including Fanta were being offered alongside Diet Coca Cola on this offer. The food here doesn't represent value for money either, my half rack of ribs came to £13.99 with my friend's burger meal costing £12.99, which is certainly more than rivals with a lack of promotional offers - but compared to the drinks which cost around £4.50 - £5 for brandy/vodka and an additional £3.35 for a coca-cola with it, they were made to look cheap. The food quality overall surprised me - the food was actually pretty good considering the dire experiences I've had at many other branches of TGI's including Manchester Cross Street, Piccadilly and London Wembley - the chips were crispy and the ribs were pretty good quality (I for one didn't need the extra BBQ sauce though - they were covered in it!) The main thing letting this place down is the prices, especially of alcoholic beverages and the fact they don't even have a menu for spirits meaning they charge ridiculous prices and whatever they want, and the service - surely a manager should see a customer with an allergy straight away and at least let them order drinks if there is a delay, considering I was ordering a drink I already knew was gluten-free, and unless the staff were complete idiots they couldn't fuck it up with gluten. Even waiting for my bill and to pay afterwards took so long - the staff member runs off with my vouchers and it was another ten minutes until I was able to pay. There only seemed to be one staff member, despite there were enough people to take payment, they seemed to be spending time talking to customers - I honestly have no problem with this but in a busy restauraunt with customers waiting (not forgetting the fact I couldn't get a 4G signal and the wi-fi wouldn't connect during my time here as it was a Saturday where signal is normally worse in the city, meaning I couldn't communicate with important emails) - it was a hell-like experience. If the staff member wants to talk to customers, surely they should come back after serving people who have been waiting for a long time? In terms of food quality, this is one of the better TGI Friday's I've been too, but in terms of service, it probably matches the London Wembley branch as amongst the worst - I'd even go as far to say the overall service and pricing really knocked my experience down to a low level, to an extent where I can only give a two-star rating which is only down to the food being pretty good and exceeding my expectations.

Subway offer a sub of the day for 1.99 they have a different one for every day the prices at subway are affordable and they have a big range of mix and match for the meal of your choice. They offer cookies, muffins, drinks, crisps, salads and they also cater kids pack lunches which are usually very well liked. Subway have also recently started to cater for Muslims who are on halal which i think is brilliant, they are trying to get it in to all subway stores but at the moment it is only in selected stores and am afraid this is not one of them yet but will been soon. The staff are always friendly and very clean which is important when preparing food.
