First thing to note is that this is not a place to go on a first date. There simply is no way to…read moregracefully eat their burgers or wings without slathering face, fingers and possibly eyebrows in the vast amounts of sauce dripping from everything they make. It's probably why you're given a roll of kitchen of roll instead of napkins when you sit down. When we first arrived it was queued out the door, ok it's a small entrance way but that still meant there was at least a dozen people ahead of us. Thankfully we were quickly ushered inside and while we still had a 15 minute wait for a table for 4, and we could spend that time at the bar. The bar has a decent selection of the usual favourites. It's a bit short on good beer/ale but does have Brooklyn larger on draught. They also have their very own larger, which to be honest was unimpressive. It tasted very weak with no strong flavours and a distinct lack of hops. I would describe it like sex in a canoe, f**king close to water. If you're a Bud or Coors lite drinker you'll likely enjoy it. But you don't come here for the booze. The burger menu was impressive, the smallest they do is a double and every burger comes with a long list of toppings. Some crowd pleasures feature, candied bacon, pepper jack cheese, BBQ onions, but there are also some weird and wonderful additions such as crunchy pretzels, frazzles (yes the crisps!) and even beerios, which are some sort of beer infused cheerios, they only appear on their breakfast burger. I had the river phoenix, a double cheese burger with bacon, BBQ onions, chipotle sauce, baconaise and the aforementioned frazzles. The burger was delicious, the meat was good quality and well cooked, although it did get lost under the vast amount of different toppings. As sides we had their chilli cheese fries and suicide wings. The fries were excellent, a mixture of regular and sweet potato fries. They were cut to just the right thickness and had a nice crunch while still being fluffy on the inside. There wasn't quite as much chilli as I'd have liked but other than that the fries were perfect. However I was disappointed in the suicide wings. I'm a big hot sauce fan and they were pretty mild. I would have liked for them to have been a lot hotter. I was expecting ghost pepper heat and only got Jalapeño. It's not full waiter service as you do have to order and pay at the bar. But the staff were pleasant and the queues were short so I didn't mind. Our four burgers (3 doubles and a triple), two portions of fries and a portion of wings came to a very reasonable £40.

They've got wings coated in fiery 'suicide' sauce and chips laden with cheese and chilli. Portions are huge so come hungry, and leave very satisfied! No table service - this a DIY venue but worth the trip!

The illuminated sign "Where there's tea, there's hope" in the shop isn't a joke. When you're at the bar, you'll see the coffee machine, sure, but you'll also see the many canisters of tea on offer. Tea here comes in individual see-through pots, showing Leaf's modern edge on a long-standing English/British tradition. You simply must order tea here because you're totally missing out if you don't. It's called Leaf for a reason! There is a small alcove 'shop' adjacent to the bar where you can pick up tea bags, diffusers, and the like. It gets very busy at lunch and brunch times; pack patience. There's a weird quirk about the front door: you need to push it because it opens inward, which seems odd because it's a really big glass door and oftentimes shop doors in England open outward. A Manchester outpost of Leaf now exists, but I can't imagine it would ever compare favorably to the original location. Not somewhere for a lively night out, but at the same time, not always the best place for a quiet chat, especially as they tend to have the music quite loud. Still, if you want your Beatles fix and you're nowhere near Mathew Street or the docks, this is a good alternative.

The prices aren't that cheap but they are perfectly reasonable, considering the drinks of offer. They are more than worth the money, that's for sure! This place is head and shoulders above any normal 'pub'. Bier also offers pies, nachos and hotdogs if you're feeling a little peckish. There are lots of TVs to show sport on. Sometimes I'll steer clear of the place when it's like this, I'll admit. This is because I'm not really into sport and, as you can probably imagine, it gets extremely packed at these times. If you're into your football though, then this place would definitely have yet more to offer you. Even though that sounds like a negative point from me, the good part of Bier more than make up for it. It's such a great place to relax and try fantastic beers from all around the world. This is an essential place to go.

I`m composing this email on behalf of my wife who wishes to express her opinions on her recent meal, her (and her companions) comments immediately after picking her up outside Just had our staff Christmas meal.It was booked for 7pm (for over 25 people) the party started to arrive at approx 6.25pm onwards.We were told upon our arrival that we would be seated upstairs and that we would be shouted at 7pm. At 6.45 the majority of the party had arrived (only 2 / 3 not made it so far) however when asked if we could go upstairs we were told with a firm, No, i`ll let you know when you can go upstairs,i`ll shout you and you can follow me up. This was rediculous as we were nearly all there and there was nowhere for us to sit whilst we waited. When we were eventually seated the room was extremely cold, some sat with their coats still on. The meat on the Christmas menu was cold, there were no roast potatoes.The Christmas Pudding was huge served with minimal custard, so it soon become very dry. The majority of this was therefore left (a waste in many peoples opinion) All in all, the attitude of the staff was unpleasant,the food a lot to be desired and perhaps if the heating was actually turned on (I know there`s a credit crunch on but the fact that there was NO heating at all was unbelievable) it may make for a more comfortable experience. read more

It was incredible) The food was very simple. The burger was normal sized as were the fries. There was no pretense, this was just a diner serving basic American food. Having not tried ALL the eateries in Cheshire Oaks it'd be wrong for me to call this the best place to eat there. But i bet it'd be pretty close. The locale is never gonna be one for 'fine dining'. Which is fine by me, I'm not exactly a huge fan of culinary pretension. But after a few laps of the shops and with hunger drums beating you'd be a fool if you ignore the delights of Ed's diner. So go check it out.
