I checked with my coworker, and the same thing happened to him. The meat must have been bad. I've never had Five Guys but I've heard great things. Stopped in here with my husband after a test. It's cute inside with giant bags of peanuts (so beware if you're allergic. There's a sign on the door too). Menu is fairly simple and you can make lots of additions to your burger. I had the hamburger and my hubby had the cheeseburger + fries. The fries are HUGE. The burgers are too. Quality was great but oh boy was it expensive. $50 got two burgers, fries, and drinks. Service was fairly non-existent. Took awhile for me to post this because we had evening plans in Roseville, but this place has great service. The gentleman who assisted us had an actual personality and was attentive to our asks since we were new. Food came out fast and delicious! The shake machine was down when we'd arrived and my kid was so bummed, (I'd kind of bribed him to wear a nice outfit and when they didn't have shakes, I felt bad), but while we were still there, it was back up and running, so they let us know and he left happy! The food was super good, too! I had a bacon cheeseburger, everything was so fresh and delicious. My hubby even got tomatoes, which he NEVER does since he'd worked in fast food in the past, and said they tend to have salmonella a lot?! I didn't know this was why he avoided them! But there was a sign in the store that they cut them fresh every day. He said they looked and tasted like it! We split on large fry between the 3 of us, and everything was clean and tidy, easy to find. We will certainly be going back! This is the first time I've been to a Five Guys Burger joint. I've always said to myself, I'd try it. The double cheeseburger was actually good. Yes, it's a cheeseburger but it's well made. The burgers appear to be made on request. They aren't steamed with fake grill marks imprinted on the patties. Next time I will order a single patty burger. It's a mess with the mild house sauce on the bottom bun and mayo on the lettuce. When they say, "With everything?" They mean it. We order single patties burger (which they called little burgers). If you like meat order the regular. Free peanuts for consumption. Food prepared in peanut oil. Love the burger with pickles and mushroom and everything else! Love they pickles with the right crunch and sourness. One star off as not a big fan of the milkshake. I bit on the too sweet side. I would rate this experience a 3 out of 10. I first called to place a to go order, but could only place it if it was $25 or less, even if I was willing to pay over the phone. I ended up having to order and pay online (even tipped). I ordered for ASAP pick up and had my husband pick up the order. He followed the prompt from the 5 guys text saying he was on his way and enabled tracking. When he got there, the food wasn't even ready and was made when he showed up. When we ate at home I noticed the bag had a good amount of fries that were at the bottom and I thought whoever bagged our order gave us extra to compensate for the wait time. But the two orders of fries we ordered were so salty we couldn't bear to eat more than a handful and ended up throwing the rest out. I genuinely like Five guys because of the freshness of their burgers and I really love their fries. The only exception to this is when the order comes out missing a few things. We initially ordered the little bacon cheeseburgers but they took down little cheeseburger (minus the bacon). I was disappointed here. The 2nd burger we ordered included raw onions but was also missing. None the less, the customer service was on point! The staff here are incredibly friendly and are accommodating. I liked how they were crispy but not really a fan of how they tasted. They do give you a bag of free peanuts, not sure if you could toss the shells on the ground but eating them got messy. I could have easily shared this with someone else. My only main complaint was how pricy it was. For a full meal (burger, fries, and drink), it would be roughly $15 which is more expensive than a lot of their competitors. I have been slowly trying to catch up with my boyfriend's burger list and making comparison notes. Since we were in the neighborhood and extremely hungry, I decided it was time for me to try Five Guys (the food). Since Joe K. has to start watching his diet more closely, our thoughts about getting a hamburger changed abruptly when we walked in and noticed the menu offered a grilled veggie sandwich. Yes, we ordered vegetarian sandwiches at a burger joint! The young man at the order counter was very nice and helpful at explaining what they serve. Besides their famous burgers, they have hot dogs, BLT's, regular and Cajun fries, and grilled cheese. You can choose as little or as many of their 15 toppings that you want at no extra charge. Tomatoes, onions, or grilled onions, lettuce, pickles, grilled mushrooms, Jalapeño peppers, green peppers, mayo, ketchup, mustard, and a variety of sauces can be added to your burger. I ordered my veggie sandwich (which is really a lightly toasted hamburger bun), with cheese and most of the toppings. I could taste all the delicious flavors of the grilled vegetables, melted cheese and condiments combined together to make one mouth watering sandwich! The only drawback with all those toppings was a bun that tends to get soggy. Maybe it would be helpful to grill the bun a little longer to hold its firmness. The French fries were hot, fresh and crisp. Just the way I like them. You can also help yourself to complimentary peanuts in the shell, which made a nice snack while waiting for our food to cook. We ordered a single cheeseburger and they gave us a double, so I didn't really have any complaints there, but goddamn, it was a lot of meat. Tons of meat. Huge patties. IT WAS HEAVY. Overall, it was quite tasty. The fries were super good and I really enjoyed them. I'm not sure we'll be back RIGHT away, but as for my east coast folks saying that Five Guys is the east coast equivalent of In n Out...I'm not sure I agree. I haven't been here in a while, but I realized after today's visit that Five Guys' burgers are underrated. You never hear someone say "I wanna grab a burger real quick...I'm going to Five Guys." It's usually Carls Jr, In n Out, Mcdonalds...you get my point. Came here on a Sunday afternoon and the place was packed and line was almost out the door. Standing in line allowed us to decide what toppings we wanted on our burgers. For mine, I went with a little cheeseburger (single patty) with grilled onions, mayo, ketchup, and lettuce. Had to grab a side of Five Guys fries as well. The prices are reasonable. Ranging from about $5-7 per burger, depending on bacon or no bacon, single or double patty. However, it's not exactly the most filling burger. I was able to finish my whole burger plus fries, and I'm usually the one who always takes leftovers home. I probably could have eaten another half of a burger too. But with that said, the burger is delicious! The cheese is perfectly melted, and the buns are toasted but soft. It's not the most picture perfect burger, as you can see from my photos, and it's also not the cleanest burger to eat, but again, it's delicious. And about the fries - we ordered the "little" size and they practically threw double the amount inside the bottom of the bag, nice! Definite plus, which makes up for the minor mess up during my visit: no lettuce on my burger! It was definitely entered in the computer because they have a printed receipt of the order taped to your bag. However, lettuce was nowhere to be found! I thought they would remake my burger but instead they just handed me lettuce in a container. Service was efficient and welcoming considering they had a long line during our entire visit. I also noticed there were five girls (and one guy) working, which I found ironic considering their name. Not that that makes any difference in service of course! I'll definitely come back more often now that I have been reminded how good their burgers are! They are definitely on the top of my list for fast food burgers. read more
