I like Five Guys. The burgers and fries are good. I like the retro red check diner theme of the restaurant but the location could use a refresh. The tables and chairs are the originsl ones from opening, no padding added. Smile. The beverage area was not clean so usually I stood back from the cointer. Order via Door Dash and there was a bug on the first fry pulled out of the bag. I freaked out and threw the fry. The bug was gone. I looked back in the bag and another larger bug was in the bag! I was so freaked out, I ran out the house with the bag and threw it in the trash! I contacted Door Dash and because I didn't have a picture, I was not refunded. What happened to this place!? First of all, a large fry is super expensive and it's only a little cup of fries, you don't even get the extra handful but you used to. Secondly, I called ahead for a to-go order and I arrived about 10 minutes later, and then I still had to wait 17 minutes for my food to be ready. Why bother calling ahead if it's not going to save me any time? In 17 minutes I could have gone literally anywhere. I don't go to Five Guys often because I hate myself afterwards. The burgers are excellent and the fries remind me of carnival fries. While you wait, you can munch on some roasted peanuts. Today, I had a "junior" cheeseburger with mayo, ketchup, lettuce, tomato and onion. This "junior" is a quarter pound burger, so it is not actually a "junior". Just smaller than their 1/2 pound burger. I was craving a juicy burger and this one hit the spot. My wife had a plain kosher hotdog. It was split down the middle and cooked on the frying grill. She said it was really good, but could not finish. We shared a "medium" fries. I use the word "medium" loosely because the bag was filled with fries. They are fresh cut from Idaho potatoes (they tell you what city and farm the potatoes come from). What's great about the fries, they have malt vinegar!!! This place would be rates more of a 3 and a half star if I had that option...but since I dont...well, I just can't :(. But what else can I NOT do here is give it a higher rating due to a couple of factors that keep popping up...and seem's to be popping up for others listed in the reviews as well (since I kind of checked due to the fact that I was wondering "Am I the only one who feels this way and/or is experiencing this issue" and found out sadly enough I am not. What do I like BEST about this place...well of coarse the yummy tasting burgers and fries and the happy friendly workers. But what seems to be par for the course at this paticular place is the LOUD music that just never seems to go away. I know loud, I mean I live it daily with 7 kids (five being boys btw) but what I do NOT appreciate is SUPER LOUD music that just becomes more annoying the longer you stay there...of which I am beginging to wonder if their trying to get customers in and out a little more quickly by playing the music so loud...or if the music is played more for the staff to enjoy while cooking rather then for the actual customers?! They literally placed my patties between two thin pieces of lettuce. Um, that ain't gon work. You need to literally wrap that greasy patty and my greasy bacon in multiple pieces of lettuce to keep it contained. Needless to say, it was a greasy mess and fell apart everywhere. I came to Five Guys Burgers today while out doing some errands. I first noticed the place was spotless clean. I also was greeted by several employees. The cook asked if he could start some burgers while the person that does the register gets back to the register. I ordered a few burgers and a fries. I got lots of the goodies on the burgers - cheese, mushrooms, onions, lettuce, tomato, pickle and A1 sauce. The wait was not too long - they cook them to order. There were free peanuts in the shell to have while waiting. I found the service good and enjoyed my visit. I took the burgers home and my wife and I enjoyed them very much. The fries were plentiful and delicious. This place is not cheap - it was around 18 bucks for 2 big burgers and a fries. The food was great and it is cheaper than going to Red Robin. WOW. Visited Virginia last weekend and went here with my family. I love the way the place looks. It is a very inviting place to go to. You can see all the people cooking.
