1. Free roasted, salted peanuts you can shell while you wait for the burgers to get in. 2. Fries are very delicious. Definitely order them. A regular cup should be enough for two people (it has 670 calories). A large cup has 1400 calories. Cut in 6" Batonnet style, skin on, and deep fried in peanut oil. Great crunch and a hot steaming middle. Excellently made. 3. You have a choice of putting 6-9 different toppings (or all of them) on the burger, such as mushrooms, peppers, jalapeno, relish, tomato, etc. (much like Subway, but for a burger) for the same price. 4. The hamburger bun is sweet and soft, un-toasted, maybe a bit too soft, like dinner rolls (or those King's Hawaiian buns). I wasn't sure if that was the preferred taste for a hamburger bun; it didn't work for me. The mushroom toppings were definitely canned mushrooms. 5. Pricing is reasonable. 6. The interior was slightly off-putting as it reminded me of bathroom tiles. Compared to In-n-Out Burger (exclusive to California), the burger is no where near its awesomeness. However, I do agree that it is the best burger in the Dayton area that I have tasted so far. I would go here for a casual lunch on the level of Subway or Quiznos, but not a date. read more

Hubby and I stopped for lunch the other day. Always a good choice, but mustard was missing from my burger and the iced tea dispenser wasn't working and had no sign telling you that. Other than that, a tasty lunch. read more

Had I written this review before tonight, I'd have given this Five Guys location 5 stars. Great burgers and fries, and I've always received friendly, fast service. That's the only reason I'm giving them 2 stars instead of 1. Took my teens there tonight for dinner and, as usual, the food was hot and delicious. I had eaten about 3/4 of my burger when my daughter asked if she could try a bite. She doesn't like lettuce, so I had to remove it first. When I lifted the bun and started removing the lettuce, I found one of those square, plastic things used to close bread bags...and a hair. So I'm done with Five Guys and I'm now questioning my sanity for eating out anywhere, ever. As I sit here, hours later, still feeling like I ate a bread sack and a wad of hair, I wonder what gross things I've ingested over my many years of dining out that I never knew about. Gag. read more

Five Guys is my favorite burger place. I like the simple menu, and the fact that you can choose your toppings (mushrooms, fresh jalapenos, etc). The best thing is that the burgers don't automatically come dripping in oil and grease and all kinds of crazy sauces. The atmosphere is horrible and chaotic. They made both my wife's and my hamburgers wrong. When we finally got the right burgers, all we could taste was onion and grease. Okay, so I finally visited a '5 Brothers.' First of all the portions are way TOO LARGE. Take my advice and order a SMALL burger and not a (regular) burger. I shudder to think how many grams of saturated fat I consumed. The burger and condiments were good. The bun was not noteworthy. Fry's, I thought that large portion, that fits in a large cup would be about right for two diners. Well I was wrong. The problem is that you get TWO large cups of fries - on in the cup and one on top of everything thing else in the bag. My wife and I ate about a cup's worth and tossed the rest. We had the 'Cajun fries' and that was a mistake. The taste was okay - no immediate kick, but a gentle burn thereafter. The smell, however, is not pleasant. I have eaten a lot of spicy food in my life and I could not figure out what the smell was. I sniffed some 'Cajun Spice' when I got home, and it didn't smell the same, so I don't know what it was, but I didn't find it pleasant. Two regular (read 'oversize') burgers, one large fry and two drinks came to $20.51 which I find very pricey for this kind of fair. There are several excellent Asian buffets in the area that can serve two people dinner for this price in the area. I am told the store has been open for two years. I was there at 530 PM. Two couples were ahead of me and I still had to wait nearly 10 minutes. The store was pretty deserted. In spite of that, there were eight (!) people behind the counter and one or two out cleaning up the place. In spite of peanuts being available, the place didn't have rubbish on the floors on the empty table. The music was way too loud. The men's room was fair for this of place if you overlook the fact that it is a 'one person at a time' type (must be fun when the place gets really crowded, assuming of course that it ever gets 'really crowded.' Bottom line: I don't know what the excitement is all about. For burgers & fries, I think it is overpriced. I won't be back. read more

Wen't here for the first time and I'm impressed for the most part. The burgers were very good and the hand cut fries were good as well, my gripe is the price. While the portions are big I spent about $20 for my wife and I to have two burgers, two drinks, and one large fry. The service was slow as well even when the customer traffic was slow. The restaurant was very clean and the design was very simplistic which I enjoyed. While they did have free peanuts I didn't try them this time. read more

I can never understand why 5 guys is so popular considering it's so overpriced. Understand it's a good burger and definitely above the average fast food joint. However with those prices I could get a sit down meal and have a much better dining experience at a chili's. read more

Cool little hamburger joint. My daughter introduced to this place. I'm not a real big fan of franchise places but this place was different. They make the burger fresh when you order. No pre-cooking here. When you order a cheeseburger it's an automatic double cheeseburger. If you want a single patty burger order a little cheeseburger. Little refers to one patty instead of two not the diameter of the patty. Me and my daughter order a medium order of fries. I watched how they do this. The guy took his fry scoop and put one scoop into the little cup and then put another scoop in the bottom of the bag. It's like we got a double order of fries. Everybody knows the fries in the bottom of the bag taste the best anyway. The burger comes plain and you order only the toppings you want. They have about 20 to pick from. Onions, grilled onions, A-1 steak sauce, BBQ sauce just to name a few. I just get a couple of toppings. Too many toppings and all you taste is the toppings and not the meat. We also get a medium size beverage which we get free refills. I always get a couple of refills then I belch fries the rest of the night but that's a different story. The menu is simple, uncluttered and easy to navigate (K.I.S.S. keep it simple Steve). I guess the thing I like the best is that your burger and fries are served hot. 5 Guys picked up with hot and fresh where Wendy's left off. read more

One of my favorite cheeseburgers. The only reason I can't give this place 5 stars is because of the cost. I wish it was a little cheaper. Seems to be a little too expensive for a cheeseburger and fries even though it is totally worth it. The CocaCola taste almost as good as the CocaCola you get from McDonalds. Most of the five guys I have been too are pretty fast, friendly and get the order correct. This store gave me a completely different burger than I had ordered but had the right receipt on the bag. I get it mistakes happen but when there's two other people waiting for orders and you give me a completely wrong order that's just laziness. read more

SUPERIOR customer service! Someone grabbed my order by mistake and the crew prepared me a fresh meal. Then without asking, refunded my money even though I said it wasn't necessary. Good service. Nice setting. But if you have the slightest interest in your health at all, don't go here. The fries were OK but was totally not worth ingesting all that grease that squished out with each bite. The chicken sandwich I had tasted a little like cardboard - too dry. We threw out more than 1/2 of what we ordered. If you're into junky, greasy food, this is a step up from McDonald's. Couldn't find a single green or fruity dish to balance out all the grease on the menu. Not going back. read more
