we go to this particular location at least once a week and they are than any other location. The customer service is fabulous. They are attentive workers. Everything is made perfect. Other locations either give super smaller order of french fries or the cheese isn't melted, or people are not as attentive so we will travel past two or three other locations just to go to this one. read more

Stoped by here for a quick bite to eat for a late Saturday lunch. My friend had to use the restroom before ordering, so I stood *outside* of the line area and looked at the menu. For some reason, the cashier kept looking at me. I was just minding my business but every time I looked back at him he was just staring at me, right into my soul. Like man, wtf I'm just deciding what I'm trying to get. Anyways, I ordered the veggie sandwich with cheese and shared the smallest sized serving of Cajun fries with my friend. So good and so greasy, in the best way possible. I came to get a yummy burger after a long day of studying. I brought along a friend who's also from california like myself to try one of their burgers for the first time. I ordered a little cheeseburger, which is their single patty (~$6) and little fries (~$3) which is like a medium fries size at McDonald's and not so little. The patties are made fresh to order and I like how you can pick a lot of free toppings to dress up your burger. It's huge and so tasty and very filling. As a fry fiend, these fries were AMAZING and perfectly soft on the inside and crispy on the outside with the right amount of salt and they were hot and fresh. Compared to in n out (my #1 love) and shake shack, this burger ranks pretty close to those. It's really hard to find something bad to say about this place. Burgers are always on point and I love being able to choose my toppings, A1 sauce!!! if you're looking to mix it up they have great hotdogs. :-) This location was pretty clean and the staff was friendly. Decided to have this for lunch today and wasn't disappointed! I went before lunch time to beat traffic so I was in and out. I got a little fry and a little bacon cheeseburger. I loved that there was a bun less option so I ditched some carbs lol. When my order was being made the cook asked if my bun less option was due to an allergy and it wasn't. The fact I was asked was impressive but I guess for their sake they need to make sure. I got my burger in a tin bowl and the fries were in a separate bag. I loved every bite! I have a love / hate relationship with Five Guys. The burgers are absolutely fantastic and the fries are pretty darn good too. But their prices are bordering on insane and the set up of their stores is incredibly inconvenient. Paying $15 for a burger and fries from a quick service burger joint like Five Guys is getting old. I can go to sit down restaurants and get the same meal with an appetizer and pay about the same. Additionally, this place doesn't jive with the clientele of the area. Most lunch time customers in this area or workers on their lunch break looking to get in and out fast. But there's no designated online pickup area and it's usually not even ready within their estimated time frame. In the end, I might be able to justify the price if the service was better. But paying $15 for a burger and fries and having to wait almost 30 minutes? Nah. read more

I still find it strange that people rave about these burgers.... Its a plain jane burger where you can add anything you want to it. They have several toppings you can add at no extra cost. The burgers themselves are like $9 each which is outrageous in my opinion. Especially because the pattys themselves are thin. They always ask if you want to double the burger meaning add an extra patty and thats where theyll get ya! Because knowing the pattys are thin you're like "yeah!" And then they add even more to the price. Dont get me wrong, I have no problem paying for good food. The most Ive ever paid for a burger was $25 and it was the best I had ever had. Money well spent. Sometimes you need a greasy burger. Five Guys does greasy burgers RIGHT. There's something about Five Guys' meat and cheese that just *flows*. The toppings are almost immaterial; as excellent and wide-ranging as they are. As long as you're getting a patty of meat and a slice of cheese, you're going to be happy. Personally, I really adding the traditional lettuce + tomato topping to put a little crunch into my burger. You really can't go wrong, however. The fries are also excellent, but they will absolutely leave you feeling like you have a lead weight in your belly. Order only the "regular" size for fries; they end up dumping two full cups worth into your bag and you really don't need any more ( one order really is suitable for a family of four ). Sometimes you'll find yourself waiting a little longer than at other burger places. That really is totally fine -- you'd rather have a freshly-prepared burger than something that's been sitting around. read more

I went during a rush time after lunch, and the staff at this location had me all taken care of. I had ordered ahead, but the app didn't register that I had already arrived. The staff had seen the order and prepared it, so it was fresh and ready when I arrived. They made my milkshake fresh after I arrived and made sure I had the cups I needed for my drinks. Ok, first impression - seeing all of the college kids around made me feel like I was somehow going back a few years to my undergrad days. My friend and I walked up and ordered, and they were very friendly. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger (fat, I know), with the regular burger toppings, and I when I asked for onion, the guy taking my order asked if I wanted it raw or fried - which was great b/c I HATE cooked onions. We waited about 15 minutes, but after tasting the food, it was well worth it. The burger was juicy and flavorful and the fries were really, really good. The portions are huge too, I got a regular fry, and by the time I finished eating the ones that fell in my bag, I was almost full - and I hadn't even gotten to the majority of them in the cup. Why are these hamburgers so good? The two times I've been to Five Guys, I spent the whole meal trying to figure out. I don't actually think that the ingredients are of unusually high quality; the cheese is American slices (plastic cheese), and the buns seem like the cheap kind you get at the grocery store. My wife has a theory that beef isn't ground up as much a other places, but I'm not sure that could have such a big impact on taste. Regardless, I don't think I've had a better burger anywhere. The Cajun fries are pretty tasty, too. I'm a pretty big eater, but I've concluded that small burger, and sharing a small fries is enough for a meal. read more

I'm judging myself for liking this place so much. But I won't let it stop all of you yelp citizens to stop by here. The service, speed and quality all are exceeding expectations at this location. I can't do the whole burger with two patties so I always get the little burger with just one pattie. It's perfect. Fries are so fresh and delicious whether it's regular or seasoned. The soda machine...this is where all the fun lies - so many options!!! I always get diet fanta (I know, why diet?) with peach flavor. It's so good! Service..that's what I'm most impressed with. I am always greeted with smiles and there's one employee (short, female employee) who seems to be expediting most of the time when I'm here and she is so pleasant! All I heard before coming to this place was that this place has the best burger in the city. So I ventured out to Bala Cynwyd for good ol' burgers. What I found here was less than average burger and slightly better than average fries. I'll rant a bit... -I do like that they use fresh potatoes, but do they really need to stack them up outside the kitchen? -The floor near the kitchen is super slippery due to the oil splatter from the kitchen. It's not only gross but very unsafe. -The burger meat is cooked through and there's no other way of getting it. -The patties are thin and the sauce mixture on the burger reminds me of Whopper. -The line was long, and once you order the food, it takes about 10 minutes to get the food. It's no longer fast food. So Five Guys position themselves in weird place in the burger business. They are no where as efficient as fast food chains like Wendy's and Burger Kings (to which I would compare the quality of their bugers). Yet their burgers are nowhere as good as some places that serve really good burgers with quality meat, cooked medium. read more

LOVE Five Guys. I always saw this place when I visited Michael's but never really paid it any mind. I've known friends who went there and said it was good but no one ever RAVED about it, so I was never really worried about trying it until I saw a You Tube video of a guy who does Video reviews of Fast Food places and he made me want to try (Five Guys you can thank him later). I loveeee it, the burgers are hot, fresh and served in a brown paper bag. The fries are also put in a bag, and I love that they are also hot and fresh. Well, this is as close to In-N-Out as I have had in the East. In-N-Out gets five stars. I like eating the in-shell peanuts while I wait for my burger. And you always get a bag absolutely *filled* with fries, so order the small! This is not the cheapest fast food burger out there, but you do get what you pay for in this case. I like that they offer a list of "standard toppings" plus a few others. You can then mix and match and make the burger just what you like. It is a pretty extensive list of toppings, too. Lettuce, tomato, onion, all the way to sauteed mushrooms and the like. They even have malt vinegar on hand for your fries, if you like that sort of thing, like I do. Also, I do believe the cheese on the cheeseburger is a real slice of cheese. It is not plastic wrapped, processed "cheesefood". That's a good thing as no one should eat cheesefood. Ever. read more

Over the years, I've fallen in and out of love with other burgers/burger joints, but I've always come back to Five Guys. Mostly the free toppings, but now also because of the "little" fry that actually contains a manageable amount of fries for one person. This Five Guys stands out because of the Coke Freestyle machines (these are in short supply and I'm like a kid in a candy store when I find these) and the incredible customer service. After living in NYC for a year and having Shake Shack as my go-to, I was really wondering if Five Guys was really as great as I thought it was when I lived back in Philly- and it still is! It's a "disgusting good burger." No, I don't mean like McD's where the contents are questionable, but like just a good burger for what it should be. When Five Guys opened on City Ave a few years ago, I was happy that there would be a closer location to our home. Anyways, for me, this location is a hit and miss. Out of maybe the four times I ordered from here, I was satisfied once. There is a wait at about every Five Guys I've entered, so that's not the problem. I feel like the food is made sloppy here. On other occasions condiments have just been smashed on a burger or hot dog. And the fries have always sucked. Two nights ago, my mom commented on how the cajun fries were not that good. And that was before I even said anything about this location. So, if you're really hungry and you're in that area and don't feel like traveling far, maybe you should skip this place anyway. Sorry. Fresh, yummy burger goodness served up in a brown paper bag with a heaping bag o' fries --- can you ask for anything more? Fresh toppings -- done... you got it... First & foremost, with everything going on at this moment I feel the need to be very understanding about crew/staff etc. However paying $30 dollars for a burger,hotdog, & fries is already an issue in this day & time. The service was decent at best I'd say. However my biggest issue was with the food my $10 burger wasn't wrapped, it had a single piece of foil barely covering it, the burger was all the way which means I had a lot of toppings on it. Shouldn't that mean more than one piece of foil would be required but maybe that's me and my thought process and not the children who you employee that don't give a damn at the end of the nite/shift, my French fries weren't cooked meaning they were raw/soft, my hot dog was the only edible piece of food of everything. My burgers buns were falling apart because of the moisture/non wrapping of it I guess. I didn't discover that until I got home which is more than 10 mins away which makes that burger inedible which is egregious at that price point. People in this economy don't have money to throw away especially again at $30 dollars. Please train, Shake things up in this franchise, please do something because this is not acceptable. WHY are you using aluminum foil to wrap hot food ! Please invest in Tupperware you and I'm not being facetious when I say that the dollar store can provide better covering for your $10 dollar burgers. Franz here - when Hans wasn't looking I decided to give the Five Guys a chance for redemption, and I must say, perhaps Hans is a complete moron, because their burger was pretty good this time! You start with the greasy bag - I compare this to America, in that first you say, "look at this horrifying mess!" - but then after you get into it, you start to like it. And like it a lot - they post where today's potatoes are from, and I must say the fries had a very fresh potato flavor. I did not notice this the last time. I got two cheeseburgers "all the way", because that is the only way Hans and Franz do things. After devouring my double patty burger I did indeed feel pumped up. So I ate Hans's burger too! No doubt I will win our inevitable confrontation with the power of the Five Guys burgers in my belly - I will pound his face until it is flat like a burger, and he will understand the power of the Five Guys.
