54th Street is consistently good. We've been dining at 54 for a few years now, and have visited several of their locations across the metro, and I can't recall ever having a bad experience or bad food. They're usually busy for dinner and you might have to wait a while (20-30min) for a table, and on at least two occasions we've had slow service due to how busy they've been. Our last visit was a busy night, and the server disappeared on us for a bit, but some one else came around and took care of our order. The setting is similar to most casual dining restaurants, as far as ambiance (very laid back and slightly loud) and layout. They have purposefully tacky decor, overloaded with vintage signs, posters, and memorabilia. They offer a very varied menu, with a large variety of burgers, and sandwiches, they also offer steaks, pastas, salads and one-offs like their tacos and the gyro. I've always enjoyed their food, I've only tried their burgers, and sandwiches and have liked all of them so far. I wasn't impressed by their dessert offerings though, and after trying their chocolate cake once have opted to skip dessert on my subsequent visits. read more

The service is always friendly, the place is always clean and the food is fresh, hot or cold depending on your meal and delivered pretty quickly after you order and that also includes appetizers. There is plenty on their menu for all different types of food and they have pretty fair prices. If you go before 6 PM you can get a half price appetizers which is a plus and the reason I gave four stars is because I feel you pay a little more for the food compared to other restaurants and you get smaller portions of side items. Overall it's a great atmosphere inside of 54th St. Bar and Grill. I would recommend their many selections of steaks, burgers and salads. read more

To start, our server and the rest of the staff were very friendly and attentive. We had a party of 12 and they handled us very well. I ordered the veggie burger, and it was at the worst I have ever had. I didn't expect much else though. Everybody else's food looked great. I tried the stuffed mushrooms and they were fantastic. Fair warning though.... Every person in our group that ate the French fries that day ended up extremely sick to their stomach about an hour or so later. read more

They had one of the largest gluten-free menus I've seen. Ordered an avocado chicken sandwich and fries and had no problems. I even got to enjoy a sesame seed bun instead of plain. There were also plenty of GF appetizers. We had the chips and queso and enjoyed it. Our waitress wasn't the most knowledgeable about GF foods but she did go back to the kitchen repeatedly to find things out for us. Great place for the entire family. read more

OMG never have had an experience this awful. Came in ordered an appetizer and a few drink, was a party of four. We only got one menu to start asked for more menus were brought 2 more. Drink service took forever after we had to share a menu we ordered food appetizer came out it was delicious. Ordered our meals 3 of them came out within a reasonable time 4 meal was way behind. When the server set my steak down he said sirloin and I had ordered a ribeye so I questioned it he said oh yeah it's a ribeye. It gets better!! Well it didn't look like any ribeye I have ever gotten but I thought ok so I cut in, definitely not a ribeye so when the waiter came back around I stopped him and said I had ordered a ribeye he looked at my plate and said no that's definitely not a ribeye and he would take care of it so ok no big deal until a minute later while I'm eating my baked potato and all of a sudden here comes a fork over my shoulder stabbing into the steak never any excuse me I need to take the steak back just a waiter stabbing into my plate and as he has the steak lifted off my plate says the cook needs to see the steak! So by this time I'm completely dumbfounded by the chain of events so I ask to speak to the manager and all he can say is I'm sorry and he can remove my steak from the Bill. I find it unusually funny that the best they can do is remove a charge I didn't even receive. What a joke would never eat there again!!!!! read more

Wonderful waiter, quick service (after a 45 min wait, they were busy all night so kudos to the staff for their hard work), and decent food.

Amazingly good tacos, there's other great stuff on the menu too. All in all the 54th St., Grill has a notch above Applebee's at a reasonable price point. I have a really good chicken tortilla soup and if you're just out for a burger and a fast lunch I recommend this place read more

If you're looking for a traditional chicken salad sandwich, 54th Street Isn't it. Horribly bland, no sweetness contrast at all. Paired it with their beef soup. Not a fan of that either. Good way to use leftovers. read more

Service is normally good here. Took quite a long time for me to place a to go order. Took around 45 minutes for the food to come out. Finally get my order and then when I go to enjoy what I originally thought was going to be a piping hot meal was freezing cold. I will never do another to go order from here again. My mom and I would always come here during a random weeknight when we wanted to escape our house. We would do the dinner for two for $25 deal, where you got an appetizer, two entrees, and a dessert. The food was delicious every single time. Also, the servers were always super polite and nice. Sometimes the food would take a long time to come out, but it was always still super tasty. Also, kids were practically at every single table, but the food was a good distraction. I miss this restaurant. read more

Stop by this place with my wife because we were staying at a hotel next door. Asked to sit at the bar and was placed at a high top table. Yes that's in the bar area, but not at the bar. Strike 1. Out waiters came by and introduced herself, Amber Y is what the bill said because she didn't tell us her name. Strike 2. After ordering and receiving our appetizer we didn't see her for another 20 mins. Granted that wouldn't have been a big deal, but I needed to get a star for her....... Dinner.... We ordered the dinner for two. I had the pulled pork. If I tell you that was the most flavorless pulled pork I've ever had in my life, would be an understatement. The bar b q sauce didn't help it at all. Strike 3! Now what really perturbed me was that she was super friendly to the other 2 tables she had, didn't have the time of day for me and my wife. As I hate to stereotype, I find it odd that she couldn't look at me once while we were here. I am a black male and my wife is Caucasian. Now the other tables were Caucasian males and females. She was all Honkie Dorie with them, but for me and my wife, she wouldn't have spit on us if we were on fire. Really what year are we in??? Will never come back. Food was excellent. Server was nice . Had a coupons for free appetizer and asked for boneless wings , got bone in but didn't send it back because it would have take longer and I was on lunch break . Had a app with $5 off but it was taking to much time for the manager to figure it out so I didn't get to use it . I felt like I was there dealing with my receipt longer then I should have been . I went here for my 19th birthday celebration with my mom and I'm so glad I did! There was a bit of a wait, but we got there at the tail end of their dinner rush, so we expected as much. Despite the fact there were about 4 groups ahead of us to be seated, we still got sat in about 10 minutes. We were at a high top in the bar area which was fine with us. It was nice and big, and had a fun atmosphere. As far as food goes, I LOVED my avocado chicken grille. It was a mess to eat, but a delicious mess. My mom wasn't as pleased with her food, she got a different chicken grille and said it was missing some flavor, but wasn't bad and just plans to order something else next time. However, we both ordered Caesar salad beforehand and both thought they were great. And large for a $3 salad! As for our waiter? Awesome! We let him know we were trying to catch a movie after we are and he kept that in mind, giving us quick service that was still friendly and attentive. Despite the fact that my actual birthday was a couple days away from our visit, he still gave me the free birthday dessert since this was my celebration which was really appreciated. And there was no singing. I will definitely be going back and would highly recommend this place for a casual birthday dinner. read more

At least the last four times I've eaten here, I've had to send my salad back. Once because there was bleu cheese when I ordered feta, once because there were onions when I asked for none, and twice where there has been plastic in my salad. The last straw was a fake apology from a manager who interrupted me several times and clearly just wanted me to leave. Food safety is not a joke. Hand down my worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant. First our server didn't approach our table until we were there for 20 minutes. Not trying to complain because we were celebrating the graduation of my niece. Once the server finally arrived at our table she took orders and it was another 40 minutes before we saw her again. We waited 1.5 hours before we contacted the manager to inquire about our meals. We were told that our order was never put in and that it would be an additional 20-30 minute before the food would be ready. At that time my party of 12 decided to leave the restaurant. The thing that made this experience so bad is that while we complained with management, the employees thought it was a laughing matter. They pointed their fingers and laughed in our face. I hope that this bad service was not because of our race and more just bad service. But when your group in the only group not being served it really make you think. It was a group of college kids and a couple sitting across from us that walked out because of what they saw. The manager apologized for the bad service, but I will never eat there again. read more
