We were greeted by the Steviest of Steves - who is a font of brewmaster information! We learned of this brewery while attending the Squirrel Festival (which featured a beer garden.) We made it to the actual brick and mortar - today - and could kick ourselves for not visiting a few years ago! Great beer, great service & ambiance. The environment is awesome! If you like beer (really GOOD) beer, do NOT pass this spot up! Enjoy cool murals? There is one here - but look *closely. Friendly patrons too. Kudos to Explorer Brewing! Since the Salt & Tomato menu was introduced, the food feels out of place for a small-town brewery. The menu is very limited, with elk as the only burger option at $30 and few approachable choices. The shareables are a little too unique. There is no table service, so patio guests must go inside to order and pick up food and drinks. Even on a slow night, we were told 35 min but waited over an hour for a simple focaccia appetizer, which, while fresh was bland, nothing to it. The atmosphere also fell short. We sat near off-duty staff who gave us a behind the scenes glimpse of the place that I wish we moved to another table. And no smiles from the on duty bartender. He seemed totally annoyed with working there. I actually felt hesitant to order more beers. Didn't want to add to his crappy day. Lol. I still believe this place has potential. Fix the menu and guest experience and you have got a great place to visit while in Cathlamet!

We got a pleasant surprise and we always love these unexpected surprises like this when on our travels. Morton is a good place to have a brewery as it gets enough traffic and tourism that one could make a go of it here. I got their Grassy Mountain Wheat which was very good! I always like getting a good wheat beer and this was a good one! Steve tried a different beer and that was good too. The folks that run the place are really friendly and a pleasure to chat with. Good brewery and looking forward to making a stop whenever I'm back in the area.

The fries on both orders were overcooked, dark , and Limp. not worth finishing. All the perimeter edges are storage overflow, beer kegs, boxes, and trash barrels. The same things you see on the stage behind the screen borders. Anything on the floor stays there where ever i look. They wipe tables but no sweeping , so popcorn, napkins , fries.
