I visited Five Below today with my nieces and had a mixed experience that I feel is worth sharing. When I asked an employee if I could use the restroom Cheryl to be examined , I was told the restrooms were "down" and that the closest one was at the Ross next door. Because I urgently needed to use the restroom, I continued shopping and went to check out. There was a long line of customers with only one cashier, so the wait was quite long. When I finally reached the register, I spoke with Elizabeth and asked if the restrooms were actually out of order. She kindly and politely confirmed that they were working and immediately helped me gain access to the restroom. I want to recognize Elizabeth for her professionalism and willingness to help. However, the earlier interaction was disappointing. As someone who works in hospitality, I understand how important customer experience and accurate communication are. A simple moment like this can make a big difference in how customers feel when visiting a store. Thank you to Elizabeth for turning the situation around with kindness and professionalism. read more

Sadly, this Five below wasn't a good experience. When you walk in you can see the place wasn't organized, lots of stuff out of place. Everytime someone would walk in the cashier would yell " welcome to five below" she did that while ringing us up. That's was weird and distracting. The candy we got was stale too!! read more

Not goi g to lie this has to be the worst location I have been to. The service here was great. While there was a lot of employees on the floor not a single person offered assistance. With that said, once I asked for help the man closest to me assisted immediately and offered additional assistance as well. My biggest gripe, the store was pretty filthy.... Well disheveled. Things were so out of place with so much staff available and present. Also a big portion of my candy and the other candy I was going to select was stale. Nothing is worse than paying hard earned money on inedible items. I had to toss a good portion of my candy out as it was hard as a rock. I have never experienced that so that was a major bummer. They did have a good selection of goods. Overall since this is the only location in the area maybe go to the one the town over. If you're in a pinch they were stocked well just bare all this in mind and skip the you pick candy read more

So why was the heat cranked up to 80 above in five below??? It's Valentine's Day and you've got one amazing cashier, shout out to Desiree! She dealt with the long ass lines with no complaining from her and from us waiting 20-30 minutes in line. So I deal with medical migraines and that heat was unbearable and I felt light headed the entire time I was there. I asked why the heater was so cranked up, she said that's how it is in every location. WTF, corporate you want your customers to pass out? I always forget about this store, but I always find something when I come. The store was neat and organized with Christmas clearance items and setting up for Valentine's Day. The prices were pretty clear and, mainly, easy to navigate. There were 2 cashiers but they were pretty quick and had the line moving. I even loved the teacher discount they had going on at the moment. I mainly grabbed a bunch of knick-knacks, but was definitely surprised by the variety of pens in the "school" supplies aisle. read more

This store offers a huge variety of stuff from food to clothing. I was gonna get a shirt but unfortunately the t-shirt section was a bit messy, to say the least, making it very difficulty for me to find a t-shirt with a specific design that I liked. I really enjoyed one little area in the food/snack section that seems to be intentionally dedicated for TikTok-viral snacks such as freeze-dried candies, satellite wafers, etc. I also found lots of kinda of Haribo gummies that I would normally not find elsewhere - at a reasonable price of $1.50 a bag too. My first visit to a store is usually a sightseeing trip. I have no intention of buying anything I'm just there to see if the stock is good, if I like the goods, or if I think other people will like the goods. On this visit I was getting serious the whole point was to find something that I could use. to summarize, I found quite a few items, but the timing was wrong for purchase. These are items that expire within a year or so and I am simply overstocked on the stuff and I don't have much space. Here's a list of things I might have bought The inventory was definitely skewed towards the more mature brands. I've basically saw products that I haven't seen in 20 years. I'm starting to understand why I don't recognize most of the brands in the store. if I hadn't been shopping for these items 20 years ago I would have no chance. Great selection of lip balms excellent prices (many for one dollar). Some drugstore brands of nail polish like Sally Hansen one of my go to brands Some cute little sets of nail polish and other makeup gift sets. clearly meant for kids. However, the colors were great for me. Since I have allergies to makeup this is an inexpensive way to try out a new brand. Plus I know lots of more age appropriate giftees. Decent section for travel sizes with reasonable prices $1. At this price, if the bottle has a useful pump I would buy it for the pump. Weights for lifting. The unit price per pound kept jumping. For small weights, prices were too high. Med weights were sliding towards reasonable. Larger weights were priced competitively. if you need a set of weights for training, you may be better off going to Walmart and buying a complete set. You'll get greater selection and some extra features for similar prices My eye was caught by some of the socks. They're a whole bunch of novelty socks, which seems to be priced too high for something that meant as a one time joke. However, the sets of 5 socks were priced at about a buck a pair of socks. personally there's a lot of surrounding stores that will sell socks at 50 cents per pair on sale. So these are inexpensive, but that ain't the floor on the price range. Toys. Everyone needs toys. Especially now around the holidays. It is nice to find just the right item for your favorite kid and have it tucked up your sleeve. I spotted some cute items in the arts and crafts section that I thought my niece would love. I sure hope she hasn't outgrown them. I was hoping for some more educational toys but failed to spot any. I did find some cool books. The party section I appreciated. I didn't check prices here but was simply glad it was present. There no real need to hit a party store for supplies. All the basics are right there. There is a great candy section. I tend to buy my candy from Costco but if you need a bag of everything you're better off here. This is a great store to pick up stocking stuffers and party favors. This store is not just for kids. I also think this store is well suited for people with small spaces like me. I don't have room for a new set of mugs. But here you have reasonable selection, and you can buy just 1 or 2. read more

My daughter had noticed a broken ornament she was purchasing they didn't let her get a mom broken one. I am so upset we had to purchase a broken item. It wasn't until we paid we saw it was broken. Why did they allow this to be done? I am not ok with business practice like this. Do not sell broken items. And we are still at register it was a gift for my kids friend. First time visit. I was led here by an online search for a harder-to-find candy. They've got a huge freaking candy section! Every imaginable U.S. brand it seemed. Beyond, the rest of the store basically looks like a variation on a random dollar store but using the under $5 pricepoint. Prices good and very competitive with dollar store prices. I was impressed. They have fast self-checkout stations, much faster check out process than at dollar stores. Not even sure I saw actual cashiers here, but the associates floating around and near the stations are friendly, accessible & helpful. Plentiful, easy parking outside. It was a win on my 1st visit. It's a mix between Dd's discount, Everythings a dollar and Daiso stores,( Ifykyk) nothing to be overly impressed about...but at least it's one more place in Vallejo plaza that is providing a job to someone in need. Customer service is horrendous. This is my second time shopping inside this store. The first time I went nuts buying things for Xmas that my daughter would love. And the 2nd time is when I ordered online. I went back today because I wanted to return 2 items but before i do this, let me go get the two items that I want to exchange. When I got to the register the YT cashier stated with a nasty tone "Next time you need to bring your items up to the front first before shopping"! I told her with a strong tone "That this is my 2nd time shopping here inside and I didn't know the rules. Some stores like the shoe place or clothing stores let you pick your item and then come to the cashier"! Her tone calmed down. First of all, don't talk to me like I'm a child when I'm old enough to be your Big sister smh. Second you need to learn communication skills when to speak to customers. Calm your tone down or you'll get bit back!! I get it she works in retail and wants to be the head. You may get it but you will never be great until the attitude change! (This is from the perspective of a Store Manager at a location quite similar) There was not any employees walking the store. I grabbed my items and witnessed the cashier dealing with a difficult customer. I got to checkout and said "I have a question" I saw the cashier visibly tense up so I said "I'm not gonna make your life difficult but i was wondering if yall had the Black Hibiscus flower from the this kit?" The cashier repeated my question and I said yes. she asked the male cashier next to her and he said "I don't know" I looked between the both of them and said "Is it just a rare product to get?" They both did not respond and the male cashier said "where's the tablet?" The female customer shrugged and I sighed saying "you know what, never mind". I had my items checked out and was leaving the store. I got a halloween bucket with the hand sticking up, the instructions say to twist it to the right to solidify the hand in the center of the bowl. I twisted to the left to remove the hand it snapped off. I immediately took it back and asked if I could get a replacement. The female cashier said I don't know and asked the male cashier to which he said he didn't know either. I asked if they were "new here". Both ignored me, but the female cashier said that the hands "are not supposed to be twisted off" and I showed her the instructions showing how to assemble it and she said "oh i did not know that.. i guess you can do an exchange." I love 5 Below, such great finds at low prices. I'm happy it came to Vallejo, but the customer service is not the best at this location. If anything, it's basically non-existent. Came in today and spent about 15 minutes in the store. Never saw an employee while I was on the floor. I and another customer was checking out while an employee just watched us. Not once did she ask us if we need assistance, if we found everything okay, literally nothing. Just watched. On my way out, still silent. Seemed more like a security guard than anything else. Note to management, hire people who know how to speak to customers and make them feel welcomed. If an employee is going to breathe down my neck and watch me check out, I'd at least like to be assisted and told to have a nice day! read more

The squishmallows, very popular with little ones, are fair price for the almost medium size one but for the super duper tiny ones to be $5, 95 cent less than the bigger one, is a big ol rip off. Yesterday I went into this store wanting to buy some snacks. When I went into the store to try and walk in to buy some snacks for me. The lady told me that they were closed. First off I thought that they closed at 9:30 pm not 9pm, and second they didn't even have a schedule out saying what time their store closes on the outside of the door when you come into the store.
