It's about a 30 minute drive from Omaha and we had no problem finding it. My first impression was that it was way bigger than I expected and totally worth the trip!! I regularly buy Baker's chocolates at the grocery store but there was so much more selection and the prices were cheaper. For example, the bag of Patriotic Mix was $12.95 while it's usually $16.99 at Hy-Vee for the same thing. Besides the chocolates they are known for, they also had a large selection of saltwater taffy, fudge, and a ton of other candies, some I haven't seen since childhood. In addition to candy, they also sold a lot of locally made food stuffs like Rotella's bread, Mi Mama tortillas, Valentino's, Dorothy lynch, salsas, dips, jams, jerky, spaghetti sauce, you name it. They even had t-shirts, hats, and a refrigerated section for various meats. It was really cute inside and a lot of places for photo opportunities. There was a bench inside and a covered patio outside with a big parking lot. The staff were quick, efficient, and friendly. Glad I finally got to visit this place and I will be back again when my sweet tooth feels the need. :)

The most recent time I stopped in, I got the mud ball, creme bon bon, and chocolate caramel peanut cluster. They were all amazing, but I think the bon bon was my favorite (and my husband's), followed closely by the caramel peanut cluster. I couldn't decide which to get, so I'm looking forward to stopping in and trying more things. There's also packaged candy choices and fudge if those are your things. The service was quick, friendly, and the only thingy that took a bit of time was waiting for the people in front of us to decide what they wanted.

You know what's better than being a kid in a candy store? Being an adult in a candy store! Because you have money . Had a nice conversation with staff, about candy. I like candy! I bought some chamoy gummy bears. Then I decided to check out the other side, which is bursting with color, too. Mainly things that used to be referred to as "tobacco accessories". And also socks, lots and lots of novelty socks, like a bigger selection than maybe I've ever seen. I don't know if there is a connection between these items. And for the shopper, they have lots of small decor, gifts, and actual coffee beans for sale. But the star of the show is the coffee drinks themselves! I had the pumpkin spice latte (it was Autumn, so I am allowed!), and it was creamy, had a good spice to it, and smooth. I would definitely get that again. But I look forward to trying more flavors soon! Village Grinder is a cute little cafe to stop by while you're in Countryside Village.
