Heading back into Indy we were craving chocolate so looked up options and found this hidden gem. It…read moreis in the town of Kennard and it seems like you missed it, but it is in an unassuming house on the corner with a fun front porch. Once you enter you are hit by a wave of chocolate goodness that honestly made my mouth salivate! They had a ton of options from chocolate covered marshmallows, pretzels, Oreos and various candies all dipped or coated in chocolate. We browsed a bit and then the very friendly staff helped us with options. We bought a pound of the covered ones and got a huge assortment which come in both dark and milk chocolate. The amazing thing too is that they hand dip everything! It is a family owned spot that has been around forever, so they know their chocolate! Biting into the cream filled center my first thought was that this chocolate was amazing, and super thick. They did not skimp on the coating which I so appreciate. The filling was plenty and you almost didn't have to eat more than one to feel full, they were that full of taste. Delicious! If you are out this way check them out as you won't find this kind of chocolate store anywhere else close by for sure!

The space is much larger than it appears since it occupies the building to the west of the entrance as well as even more space to the rear. It's one of those shops that you wind around from booth to booth while hearing religious music blasting out in each room. The quality of what you find here varies greatly from booth to booth. Some specialized and had items like vinyl albums, or railroad themed items, maybe some Christmas related items. Other booths sold things like refinishing paint or toys. And some looked like what you might find at a garage sale...a little bit of everything that they no longer wanted. The shop also features a candy store in the first room beyond the main entrance. Not sure why candy is sold at a shop like this, but there were two staff seated here, so I assume it must be a draw of some sort. I will say that if you are someone who enjoys browsing and looking for a bargain, this is worth checking out. I definitely found it more appealing than the shops to the east at the Galleria. But I didn't see much that I would consider Antiques or true vintage. Review #3557

My SD was not causing any problems, he walked by my side quietly the whole (almost) 2 hours in there. The woman that kicked us out WATCHED us walk in (while she sat and smoked right by the entrance) and so did multiple other employees. Not one word about my German Shepherd, not one. I understand "no pets", but no medical equipment (that's what a service dog is)?!? I could understand if he was acting up, not a peep out of him though. And why let me make it through your whole store and when I'm just about ready to leave then someone speaks up?!? So again if you want to be treated like a toddler go here, if not RUN the other direction. I don't care if it's store policy, FEDERAL LAW and the ADA cover Service Animals in ALL places EXCEPT sterile environments. I can definitely tell you that this place is definitely NOT a sterile environment. I will NEVER set foot in there again and will make sure my friends and family don't either. The woman that kicked us out was so immensely rude and she tried to talk over me when I was explaining my rights as someone that requires a Service Dog. She didn't want to be educated on the laws, she wanted to cause a scene at MY expense. NEVER AGAIN.

It is worth the drive!!! All pastas are made fresh. The staff was so friendly and accommodating! They have a piano player as well...what a treat! I sat in the back corner and took it all in! The food was outstanding, I ordered Linguine Frutti di Mare- homemade linguine ( delicious) served with clams, mussels, scallops? Shrimp, cherry tomatoes, evoo, garluc, parsley cooked in a white wine sauce!!! As you can see I absolutely hated it... lol! I has an expression and lava cake for dessert. The lava cake was a little overcooked- that is the only complaint.... Other than the lady sitting across the table from me that talked loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear her conversation. I wish people would be more observant and realize they don't have to talk so loud when they're sitting at their table it made it difficult to hear the piano player and it went from a relaxing stress free feeling to an annoyance. I was so happy when her food arrived. This place is very special. It's very small. I got in because it was very early in the evening. I believe their doors open at 5 o'clock. I would highly recommend reservations, but if you have a special occasion that you're celebrating, and it appeared that several people did this is worth the drive!
