I was initially hesitant when I signed up on it through Class Pass. Also, it may be a little hard to find, but it's next to the swing shop. More recently, I have scaled back my Class Pass membership to only 5 classes a month. Right after that, I found myself back in Dallas for 4 days. 3 out of those 4 days, I went to see Dianne (the trainer I have worked with from the beginning), and I do not mind having spent 3 of my 5 classes of the month at AMPD in a span of a week. The workouts are challenging - you will be sweating. The staff is friendly and helpful - Dianne's a friend in the few short months I've known her. The other guys there are also friendly. You can tell that they're happy to be there and enjoy working with each other. Overall, I'm really happy that I didn't cancel my first class. :)

When COVID hit, he and I started working out over FaceTime. It was just as effective to work out from the safety of my own home as it was working out in his gym. I called and asked "is free really free? Like $0" and told i need to speak to a coach. First red flag. Why not answer a simple question? I sign up for a coach to call. The coach texts and refuses to answer question until we meet. We play phone tag and I get another coach. Phone consultation and at end of call they want me to Come in. I say "I've seen ur negative reviews online. I need to know if free or not." She had ignored the question several before and that's when she tells me it "CAN BE" free. Whoa! Then why the false advertising I ask? O- I heard we had a wrong flyer out there with an error. "I have nothing to do wuth advertising. I just answer the phone." She proceeds to lecture me on the fact that I must not be ready for transformation if I don't want to pay. Just horrible!! The other coach that we had been playing phone tag with me also texts me some elaborate story on why they lie on their advertising. Sickening! No need to be deceitful if you have a good product/ service! I literally was looking to pay a trainer and if they do 1/2 of what they claim it's worth it. Take ur business elsewhere. I was working 70-80 hours a week, getting by on 4-5 hours sleep nightly, Not making time to exercise, eating on the run often fast food, and burdened with stress I was unable to manage. I was a mess! I recently joined this Boot Camp class and have attended only 3 classes so far. The class starts at…read more5:30 am and is held indoors at the gym at Camden Apartments in Farmers Market in Downtown Dallas on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays. It takes me exactly 8 mins to get there in the morning from Uptown so it works well. The classes are small and quite personal. They make sure you are doing everything properly and guide you through your weight loss or wait gain needs :) For me, its more of a support system if you want to call it that. I know they push us hard lots of times and there is no way I would work out that hard on my own unless someone was pushing me like that to keep me going. And seeing other people perform better only makes me try harder. So I am looking forward to the results in the upcoming months. But I highly recommend this class or Boot Camp for anyone looking to get in shape without a Gym commitment or contract.

I joined this gym shortly after my husband. I worked with coach d for 30 min 4x per week for 5.5…read moremonths. I paid for 6 months in advance for accountability to myself. I started out training at 4:30pm. 8 weeks in D asked me to switch to a later time slot & switch my training days around so that she could start taking Fridays off. It was hard to swing with my kids sports but I accommodated her. She eventually switched it back months later after she started seeing clients Friday again & I brought it up to her. Things were good & I was loving the Saturday group. The workouts were all over the place instead of focusing on form we focused on rep counts & had 10-30 sec recovery between sets. Progressive overload was only tracked on a couple exercises & even that was inconsistent. A few months in my husband gets a call from Neil stating D feels uncomfortable around him because he looks at her too much in between sets. I told D that was hard for me to believe he was checking her so much that it would make her uncomfortable with her husband & other clients in the same room. Neil was immediately very apologetic & jumped thru hoops to get us to stay even offering to train me. D clearly wasn't happy that I didn't "take her side" but agreed to keep training me to fulfill my contract.Things were awkward at first but she never mentioned it again. Weeks from renewal D sent home a renewal packet & told me to return it whenever & neil told my husband we didn't need to fill it out unless we were renewing. Then Friday D says I can't workout until I sign the liability form. I was caught off guard & asked why I had to sign it right now when that's not what was said earlier this week and that I didn't feel comfortable just signing it without reading it. This upset D immediately. I took three mins and read thru it & signed it. She was clearly upset with me for questioning her but didn't say anything else. About 10:30 pm that night she text me a long explanation about how she was firing me for being disrespectful and uncoachable. And then proceeded to bring up my husband again now changing her story to him following her into a storage room for trash bags during an event at the gym with members and their families and how inappropriate it was. When I asked for a refund of our remaining contract she refused stating they have a sign on the wall "no refunds" and that I allegedly signed a contract stating that as well but refused to produce a copy of the contract I supposedly signed. After asking multiple times how I was ever disrespectful to her she responded with it was more that I was unapproachable and didn't open up to her enough and she was there to heal trauma and train my mind and spirit in addition to my body. Never once in the 5.5 months of training did she say she was unhappy with my level of commitment to her program. Looking back on it all now I should have seen this coming from a mile away. Every week she would tell me about everyone's personal lives which is probably why I was reserved in opening up to her. From someone's husband treating them horribly & how she should just leave them to someone being too obsessive about exercising and how it got on her nerves to someone feeling very insecure in there body like they would snap in half no matter how much they tried to gain muscle to complaining about other clients lack of commitment to diet or how so and so drinks far too often and that's why she will never see real results to how a client is a weak man & is such a sissy his wife begged D & Neil to help get him committed to working out to try to make him more manly. The list goes on & on. D also showed revealing personal progress pictures that I sent to just her because she was my coach to other clients without my permission. After being fired I was made aware of other clients who had very similar experiences to mine and my husbands. It's a shame because the community of people that attend this gym are truly wonderful people. Something I will genuinely miss. I highly recommend you look into a gym other than Garage Gym.
