After we moved my husband contacted Joe Aratari asking him for advice about gyms here in NC. He actually took the time to do research about gyms here that were most similar to Next Level. My folks are 95 and my time is valuable, waiting for a machine in a standard gym for someone to finnish the video clip makes me bonkers! Colins gym is private, the clientele are polite and respectful of the gym and each other. I can not recommend this place enough. If you want quality machines, a clean/ quiet space look no farther. The best things about the gym, though, are the owners and the atmosphere. I got to know Colin, and it's clear he cares for his customers. He's happy to answer questions and get you started and charges reasonable rates for personal training to help you customize a routine. I only briefly met his wife, but it was clear from observing her with clients that she shares her husband's passion for fitness and helping and encouraging others to meet their goals. They maintain a supportive, non- competitive atmosphere where you can progress at your own rate. I went in the mornings around 0830--a time when the gyms back home are usually fairly crowded. Since it's open 24 hours, people can space out their times and go when it's convenient for them, not just when their free time matches gym hours. While there were always people there, it never felt overcrowded; I only had to wait for the power cage once for maybe 10 minutes to do squats, which was fine, since there was plenty else to keep my leg day occupied until I could hop in. They also accept many different insurance plans. All in all, it's a fantastic gym. If you're out this way, I highly recommend checking it out. If you care about Fairport or Fitness in general, then this is the gym for you. It seems they finally fixed the sensor for off hours to work, which has been a huge bonus. The mailbox eventually says it hasn't been set up. ...I eventually had to send an email to corporate, look around in my spam folder for a response days later, and go through infuriating obstacles and hoops to talk to a person. For a second time, I am attempting to quit while two billing cycles have gone by. I must remind myself the employee at the end of management's stick are not the problem. Gimme luck. Since it is a small local place class sizes tend to be small and the gym has plenty of open spots to workout. All of the staff is amazing and every class I have been to is great. They have so many possible times to get to each day just incase you work its pretty easy to still get to classes. They offer tabata, spin classes, burn workouts, yoga and every few months they add in new classes they offer. The instructors are very professional and always know what they are doing and offer modifications for those who need it.

I work in healthcare and that was an exhausting time of day for me, so I could not make it work. I tried my best to come on my off days, but that really limited my consistency. He would make mysoginistic comments about my work outs and "looking tired" when I was there. I tried to confront him and he dismissed me mentioning the am classes he offered (which I never utilized other than one time and it was uncomfortable for me). When I stopped going, he refused to return my calls. He owes me ~$800 for the last month that I could not make it because I felt I was wasting money doing half ass work outs at times that were not good for me. The point -- if your a child with a specific goal and/or someone who has a flexible schedule and does not mind going to classes -- great! If you are an important-looking dude, George may get a trainer at the times he promised you. If you're a young single female -- be prepared to be treated like a joke. Let me preface this with me laying out for them EXACTLY what my flaws were and what I needed to be consistent. I told them I struggled after work and was looking for a morning session to set my day. What a joke this place is! I called and he said it was free to come and workout to try the…read morefacility. I make the 15 minute walk there, sign the waiver and proceed to warm up. I am then stopped by a 125lb trainer, saying I cannot workout without one of the staff trainers, even advanced lifters cannot. He asked for me to stop warming up and wait 5 mins and he will "guide me through my workout" lol I was dumb founded...I have trained at numerous gyms all around the country and never ran into this before. I end up waiting close to 15 mins...I pack up and leave. This is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Now I respect how their business is run...but would have been nice to have known on the phone...or when I signed the waiver.... what is the point of the waiver now? If I get hurt under his supervision, I should be able to hold him accountable..... Many lifters do not need guidance through workouts...let alone being "trained" by someone who does not even look like they lift...I would not take advice from any of the trainers there....look the part at least. Need to get a workout in??? Go elsewhere sad thing is, this "gym" is very well equipped...all goes to waste

PowerTrain is like OrangeTheory Fitness but PowerTrain offers more! You arrive for a 1 hour workout…read morethat is designed by the trainers at PowerTrain. It is a different workout each time, making sure you don't plateau. It's what all the fitness articles tell you to do but sometimes you need the push from elsewhere to make it happen...and Jenna and the other trainers at PowerTrain do just that! The difference from OT is that PowerTrain has a weight room that you can go to at a convenient time for you and do your own thing..or sign up for personal training classes. This is a bit costly but if you're regularly attending, you're getting what you pay for. GIve it a try!! A heart rate monitor is given to you on arrival and you watch your HR throughout class...making sure to stay in the green, orange or red zones to maximize your workout. Go! Have a great time!! Embrace the soreness...it feels so good :)
