Kristine is constantly furthering her knowledge by obtaining higher certifications in nutrition, fitness & personal training . Ive had 2 other trainers thru a nation wide gym over the last year. I saw few results and honestly they were the opposite of what I wanted! So I google trainers and I was so lucky to have come across Kristine. The trainers from the national gym do not even come close to comparing. I have worked one on one with Kristine also attending a few of her boot camp classes. She also has devised a nutrition plan specific to me, my body and goals (now I gotta follow it lol) I have seen more results in the 3/4 months I have lost inches & body fat working at Karved with Kristine than in a year at the other place. She truly cares about her clients!! She takes notes every session keeping a log of progress, problems, concerns , goals ext. Any time I have a questions or concern she is on top of it !! She spends her own time doing research to make her she is giving 100% !! I look forward to working out with her twice a week and if I can squeeze a bootcamp in I most definitely do it! She is fun, friendly, encouraging the atmosphere at Karved is warm and welcoming. You can't beat her prices!!! I couldn't be happier having her as a trainer!!! BONUS!! Your 1st bootcamp is free!!

If you're looking for a high intensity, group fitness class, join Victor Crossfit!…read more I moved to Rochester last year and by the time I started settling in, I felt like I needed to get in a routine in terms of my health and wellbeing. That's when Victor Crossfit came in. I had been trying to find a small gym with a focus on group workout (think boot camp style) for a few months before I saw an ad to try Victor Crossfit for 3 weeks at a reduced price. I figured minimal investment of time and money, so if I didn't like it, I wouldn't be locked into a long membership. That was in March, and now entering October, I still go weekly. Lance, Chelsea, Megan, and, Caitlin have creative an environment where you want to go in and work hard. Everyone is super supportive of each other, and the workout, at any level, will push you. The coaches always have scaled versions of a workout so that people will get a great sweat on no matter if they've been coming for 10 years or 1 week. I was never a fan of weights or developing huge muscles but seeing myself improve over time and get stronger, I wanted to keep pushing myself to get to the next weight. You'll feel this way too! The coaches don't force you to use higher weights but they will challenge you to push harder when they see you're going to easy. It's encouraging! I can't recommend this place enough!

It won't be long before you start seeing positive results, get stronger, and make some friends who all want to support and encourage you to get better along the way. CrossFit can be intimidating and often the people doing CrossFit can be even more so. This is a box where you dont have to worry about that. People check their egos at the door here. Coaches are great. They push you but don't overdo it. I came in 6 months ago at 255 lbs, herniated discs in my back, and doctors telling me I'd never lift weights over my head again. I've had to check my own ego, go wicked slow, and just keep showing up. Often the weights I do are well below the prescribed workout but I've gotten stronger and better and proven the doctors wrong. It's all about just showing up and getting a great workout. I'd highly recommend just making the call, and changing your life for the better. All you have to do is show up. Funny thing is that after a few weeks you really start to crave going. It gets addictive!

If anything, the locker room is small, and lockers smaller than usual. My main reason for writing this review is Push's horrible customer service. Puch Fitness is sweet and smiley signing you up for an auto renewing commitment. However, it is almost impossible to terminate one. This has been the case in my experience in at least five years. They don't pick up the phone. The mailbox eventually says it hasn't been set up. ...I eventually had to send an email to corporate, look around in my spam folder for a response days later, and go through infuriating obstacles and hoops to talk to a person. I don't feel as if I'm paying them for a service. My wife and I feel as if we're part of a community there. From the moment you walk into the door you're greeted by numerous people whom know you by name and are all there for the same reason, to achieve and maintain fitness. We've been there for a little over a year and have absolutely nothing but amazing things to say about this place. "First rule of being a member in a gym, tell everyone you're a member in a gym!" All joking aside, I won't stop raving about this place. The cleanliness of the equipment, the attention to detail by the employees, the flexibility of subscription plans, the accommodations for children/day care, the 24/7 access, the available classes and our personal trainers! With such a huge support system in place, it's no wonder why everyone who walks into the gym for the start of their workout, walks out feeling accomplished and exhausted!

The atmosphere, community, and…read moretrainers are all amazing, but after the experience I had this week I wanted to share my experience as a warning to others considering attending this gym or getting a membership. I have been attending classes since December, which I purchase through class pass. When I started going, I was told it was permissable to stay and complete my workout after purchasing and attending a class (IE attending a strength class, then after running on the treadmill to complete my workout for the day). As time passed I started to meet people and made some purchases at the front desk for energy drinks/ etc. One day I attended a class and after ran on the treadmill (as I had done a number of times in the past). Once I left I got a notification my card was charged for a full day pass at the gym. Not once did someone notify me this occurred nor did I authorize it. I contacted a manager at the facility I knew, and they stated they charged my card as I used gym equipment after the class. I told them I was unaware of this, as I and many other classpass users thought it was allowed. I feel violated in a way because I was charged without any warning and they did not refund the amount. If I had known they were going to do this I would've left and ran outside!

I have been going for six months and I feel 5X stronger and the hip & knee pain that I've had for 25 years (and for which I've done my share of PT) has almost completely resolved. The monthly cost for group classes is right, given that if they were located in a big city they could probably charge that much for a single personal training session with kettlebells. The classes themselves are personalized as much as possible--I've been in classes with 20+ year-old guys trying to get jacked and 60+ year-old women working to regain their mobility--Kerry deftly manages to make sure we all get what we need. Morning classes tend to be older students; evening classes tend to be younger but I've not felt out of place in either (well, I once tried one of their kick boxing classes but that is NOT my thing! My fellow students seemed to enjoy it though). Kerry & Greg are certified through Strong First which is apparently a big deal. I commute about 15 minutes 2-3 times a week to get there (not something I've been wont to do in my life). I'm especially glad to be able to support a high-quality, local, and family-owned business rather than a big fitness chain.
