At first we just thought it was a gym where we could go get a workout in, but it's a lot more. Yes, there's a gym with all the dumbbells and kettlebells you want, a couple of benches, a couple of barbells, resistance bands, a conventional sauna, a couple of machines, and room to work (everything I need to workout except maybe a pull-up bar and a place to do dips). However, on the other side of the front desk (easy check-in, some merch, and a few products like LMNT), it's like a well-appointed, DIY spa. They have several different private rooms, all equipped with infrared saunas, and some with matching cold plunge tubs for contrast therapy. I love it. Everything is clean and beautiful and well laid out. We were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable and relaxing it all was, with great little touches (great lighting, a picture of penguins enjoying a cold plunge above the tub). Vinny was personable, and happy to show us how to work the saunas (very intuitive). It's super easy to figure it all out, and my wife and I had a great time in the room with the larger sauna that we could both fit in. Even though my body was screaming at me to get out of the cold plunge (had to be in the 40s) immediately, I stayed for three minutes each time and felt amazing afterward. It's also worth mentioning that the music here is GREAT. A playlist that I could've put together myself. We'll be coming back. Maybe tomorrow.

Though your phone will overheat, so I recommend just bringing a book or hooking up the bluetooth and relaxing to some music. Love coming here and I am curious about the gym and the other areas. You're able to book a day pass via classpass as well, so that should be interesting. Looking forward to coming back and feeling lucky a recovery spot is so close to me.

False advertisement! They advertise for services which they do not even provide…read more They were advertising for a Botox special. So I called them up. The receptionist booked me for Botox and took my cc info. When I went there for my appointment, the doctor said she doesn't have any Botox and only offer dysport or xeomin. These are cheaper alternatives to me and I didn't want them when I booked a Botox appointment. They seem to pull a bait and switch on customers when you are there and maybe some people are like well I am already here so I will just take the dysport or xeomin. The front desk woman said they basically promote as Botox because she assumed people are only familiar with that brand, only to inform you much later at your appointment that they don't even use Botox. This is very shady. I consider this a bad business and to avoid them at all costs! When it comes down to it, an injection place that doesn't offer the mainstay of Botox is very odd! So watch out friends! They will waste your time with frozen smiles on their faces, which in and of itself is very disturbing!

Thrive Wellness is a welcomed addition to Rochester! On my visit, I tried out the Infrared sauna…read moreand cold plunge combo (Contrast Therapy). The sauna was roomy and clean, with no indication of staining or splintering in the wood so it shows the team maintains their equipment well. Also, the cold plunge water was absolutely clean by which you can see into the bottom, even though the water is consistently circulating! In the sauna, you can change the light settings (which each color has a different benefit), temperature, timers, and even a Bluetooth connection to play your favorite tracks while relaxing! You might have to be careful on how loud you have the music in the sound-deadening sauna as the ceilings are open and noise can carry though the area. At the gym in my town, I'd need to leave the sauna, walk into a separate cold plunge room, shower, THEN enter - that's a lot of heat lost in the process there. With that being said, I REALLY love the organization and layout of the contrast room; you have towels and a robe ready for you, and the steps for the cold plunge is right in front of the food of my sauna. Once I finished my 30 mins in the heat, I walked directly out and into the 47F pool to get the effective contrast therapy and "tingle." Overall, I'll definitely be back for another session. Some things that I wish to see in the future would be offering disposable/rubber slippers, an entrance shoe cubby, as well as hopefully offering lotions and recovery drinks like tea after my appointment. Despite absolutely hating the cold, I felt absolutely refreshed and alive after that shock to the system at Thrive!

I gave that a try with their bogo offer. And honestly, if you can deal with a Rochester winter, you can cold plunge. I'm trying it to see if it helps with muscle aches, etc and while it's too soon to tell. I do feel more awake on the days I've come in. While the saunas have a speaker you can plug your phone into, I'd suggest bringing headphones if you're going to cold plunge or contrast (which is going back and forth between the sauna and the plunge). They do provide a plastic bag for wet if needed. And plenty of towels. I would prefer having a clock of some kind on the wall instead of the portable timers but I get how others might not like that. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. And they have various membership packages.

The atmosphere, community, and…read moretrainers are all amazing, but after the experience I had this week I wanted to share my experience as a warning to others considering attending this gym or getting a membership. I have been attending classes since December, which I purchase through class pass. When I started going, I was told it was permissable to stay and complete my workout after purchasing and attending a class (IE attending a strength class, then after running on the treadmill to complete my workout for the day). As time passed I started to meet people and made some purchases at the front desk for energy drinks/ etc. One day I attended a class and after ran on the treadmill (as I had done a number of times in the past). Once I left I got a notification my card was charged for a full day pass at the gym. Not once did someone notify me this occurred nor did I authorize it. I contacted a manager at the facility I knew, and they stated they charged my card as I used gym equipment after the class. I told them I was unaware of this, as I and many other classpass users thought it was allowed. I feel violated in a way because I was charged without any warning and they did not refund the amount. If I had known they were going to do this I would've left and ran outside!
