I always look forward to my chilled eucalyptus towel after class - a small but brilliant touch that really elevates your overall experience. I also enjoy that I get two guest passes per month with my unlimited membership, it allows me to occasionally bring my friends without them having to pay - I'm pretty sure that they are the only class-based gym that does this. I can't recommend this place enough - if you're bored with your workout routine and want to join a community of positive, uplifting people, then VAULT is for you!

They manipulate contracts without notice, rack up hidden charges, and refuse to cancel memberships to continue exploiting customers. === In my case, I miscommunicated with their staff, thinking I would no longer be charged. Subsequently, they reactivated my account and started charging me without notice. I was left completely in the dark and discovered they were hiding an accruing balance when I happened to stop by their health club. They callously refused to cancel my membership unless I paid off the fictitious balance first (I tried verbally in person, then through email), a clear violation of New York's Health Club Services Act, as I had moved more than 25 miles away from their clubs. When I requested a contract copy, they manipulated contract terms after signing, again without my knowledge or consent, as they did not inform me of these contract changes when they happened. The erroneous capitalization in their revised contract language is strikingly similar to the poorly written emails they sent me as I tried to resolve the issue, leading me to believe they very recently added the clauses to keep me trapped after I brought them my issue. The added clauses were that I was required to fill out cancel forms at the front desk and pay off my fictitious balance before I could cancel, seemingly to make it difficult for me as I have moved away. Attempting to resolve these issues with their staff was an exercise in futility. It took 21 days of dealing with an unprofessional and apathetic baby individual who ignored my concerns and refused to act in good faith. When push comes to shove, be prepared for the scammer's last-ditch flail: "I see your point a little. so what are you able to pay for the balance I will just get rid of the others so this can be done"

It's a circuit training/HIIT style workout, where you roll around the studio and run through a series of different exercises designed to get your whole body moving and sweating and just in better overall shape. There's some work on machines (ski, treadmill, bike, etc.), weights, bodyweight exercises, and more. If you've ever done F45 or something similar, it's not far off, but it's a cool local shop with personable coaches in a clean environment with surprisingly nice facilities and even products in the bathroom for when you're through. Everyone we spoke with from the front desk to the trainers leading the session to the other folks working out seemed cool, and we'll definitely be back when we're in town. Like most workouts (and many other things in life), you get out what you put in. Meaning, if you come in ready to see what your body can do, you'll get a great sweat on. They have a shirt for sale that says, "But did you die?" And I like that. Bring your own towel.

I wasn't sure what to expect at first since I've only ever been to the big corporate gyms. My experience from the get-go was nothing but positive. The team here works with you from an all-around wellness approach. Two weeks after signing up, I ended up getting sick and felt derailed. But the kindness and care package that arrived in my mailbox from the team here was encouraging and immediately set the tone for the relationship I have with this gym. In the three months of working with Evan at L&L, I have made more progress than in all of the months no wait, years, of training elsewhere. Why? Well I think it comes down to the personalized, total-wellness approach. I like that you have an app that keeps you connected to your trainer and links with MyFitnessPal. This added layer of accountability has been great for me. I've logged into MFP for 100 straight days - more than ever before. And it is an encouragement when Katie sends you a message for sticking with tracking food. Speaking of which, I appreciate the approach of focusing on macros instead of just calories. This has helped me tremendously as I've been working on strength. I have started looking at food more as fuel for the body. Don't get me wrong, I still like to eat... but at least now I have a greater awareness of what is going to work for me. I have a customized program that is tailored to me. For as much as we work on getting stronger, there is significant time spent on pre-habbing and focusing on recovery. It's amazing what rest, lacrosse balls and foam rolling can do to improve movement. I haven't lost a whole lot of weight yet, but that goal has been set on the back burner as I realize how weight alone is not a great measure of wellness. There are multiple other measure of improvement, and I'm seeing those. You'll get out of it what you put in, but it seems easier to put in the effort when you have a supportive group of well-educated people rooting for you. I highly recommend at least checking Lion & Luxe out. They offer yoga and massage in addition to personal training. The atmosphere is relaxed and familiar, and VERY supportive.
