I'm beginning to believe that there's a shortage of good boutiques and consignments in RVA. We can all make a little bit of "honest" money here, if you're business is good it should speak for itself. I thought the idea of consigning my clothes instead of doing it myself would be better, maybe not! I had done some spring cleaning and found new clothes with tags and some without that no longer fit me. I always believed that before you buy something new, you should rid yourself of the old. I believe I have exceptional taste and 95 % of my clothes were immaculate. I also made sure I walked through the store and compared their threads to mine, what I found is that mine were more stylish and in better condition. (Other reviewer's made the same observation). Also, the entire consignment process was tedious, and poorly constructed. I initially scheduled the appointment with the store owner, spoke with her at length and she never gave me instructions on how to bring the clothes in.( Each shop has different rules) I arrive and, (although disabled, I don't look it but mentioned my pain 15 x) and they looked more able bodied than myself, and blew me off, never helped me with my bags. She asked me to hang up all my clothes on provided hangers, so that she could sort and select. I believe I brought in about 75 pieces of clothing and she selected 8. She said that they weren't name brand and not in good shape, I was in shock, but not surprised. I advised her that she obviously has not looked through the items in her store ( I was not being funny). I did make a purchase, I found a sterling silver chain and some earrings. I still supported the business although I didn't agree with the practice! I won't be returning though! ( It's plus size clothing, para los mas llenitos)

I am so excited to have a curvy girl friendly consignment shop in RVA!! This boutique consignment shop is decked out in hot pink and is absolutely adorable. The boutique offers everything from shoes to lingerie. Although they have a wide variety of apparel alot of the items I came across were not in the best condition. Some of the clothing was stained and/or stretched out. Overall I think this boutique is a great edition to the West End with alot of potential.

Dry rotted shoes purchased and they would not stand behind them after 1 week.

Fabulous shop for curvy/larger sizes. Lots of different brands, and like-new (or new with tags!). So grateful to have found this place!

I purchased a custom suit from this location about 3 months ago and wanted to wait until I wore it on numerous occasions. Custom tailored suits are supposed to look custom, but I can honestly say every time I put on my suit it looks like I'm swimming in it. When I got measured back in March, the salesman asked me what size pant I usually wear. I told him, and his response was, "well you must have put on some weight!" Not a good start and I had not. He didn't ask anything about what style I liked or anything. I have a narrow frame and many jackets look way too wide in the shoulders. While trying on the jackets to get a sense of what fits, I mentioned it to him and he said, "that's why you're getting custom. It will all look much better when it's tailored." Cool. Fast forward to the first fitting: the jacket was horribly wide and pants were WAY too baggy. I told him my concerns and he assured me (again) that these issues would be fixed with the final tailoring. Come my final fitting, things were looking better. HOWEVER the issues I mentioned in both of the previous fittings weren't properly taken care of. Shoulders way too wide. Pants way too baggy. Rise way too long. I mentioned it yet again and instead of trying to fix the issue, he brought over another sales associate to have him tell me that it looked "like it should." I don't care what either of their opinions were. I did not feel like it looked good and spent a decent amount of money on the suit. I had an event for which I purchased the suit the following weekend and it couldn't be tailored again in time. Also, they assured me that the issues I mentioned were not fixable, as the style of this suit wasn't a narrow shoulder and they didn't even carry shoulders as narrow as I wanted. Now, I need to wear a suit for work and every time I put on this suit I feel frustrated and end up opting for another in my closet I got off the rack at Dillards or Macy's.

I was able to try on a lot of dresses in a short amount of time thanks to how efficient and respectful they were. Each dress was placed in my fitting room already unzipped, so I could easily slip it on, and a stylist would come in just to zip it up. It was such a modest and comfortable process, and I really appreciated that. That said, I didn't experience much interaction or guidance from my stylist. Maybe it was because I had two people with me to talk through things, but I don't recall receiving any input, suggestions, or just general information from the staff. I also wasn't offered help picking dresses or narrowing things down by budget. I can't speak to prices overall, as I wasn't really focused on that during my visit. In hindsight, since it was my first stop, I may have unintentionally taken more of a "browse everything" approach. While I'm grateful for the chance to try on so many options here, the lack of personal connection ultimately made me glad I didn't find my dress at Lex's. I found much more warmth, support, and guidance at the shop where I said yes.

I started looking at the racks outside and felt very hopeful after looking at the prices. The store is very organized in my opinion. As a midsize, borderline plus size girl, it was really easy to find clothes that actually fit. It's a curated selection of what's fashionable without breaking the bank. I'm glad there's one in Richmond, I'm glad there's one in Virginia Beach! Unfortunately, we stepped inside about 35 minutes before they were going to close. Others came in after us. No one, and I mean NO ONE, spoke to us when we came in. We browsed around & a young lady came and slammed a pair of jeans in front of me on the rack. She did say "excuse me" while doing so, but the attitude was very clear. Not sure why people get so upset when they are still open. At that point, I knew I wasn't purchasing anything from that store. I had to get my son out of there, but he was still excited at some of the things he was finding. He's a teen - He doesn't pay attention to bad attitudes or poor customer service the way I do. So, he was unfazed. The longer we stayed, the more irritated that young lady looked. I walked out because he was taking too long browsing & I could feel myself getting upset by her behavior. They brought in the racks from outside & the young man did finally say "hello" to me as I was walking out. Weird! Even if he was ready for everyone to leave, he didn't show it as rudely as the young lady did. Instead of being called "Uptown Cheapskate", they should rebrand as "Uppidy, Stuck Up & Rude Cheapskate". That fits them more accurately. Needless to say, we will NEVER go back & their men's section is extremely small compared to the rest of the store. They won't see a penny of my money!

I had never been in this store so I thought let's check it out maybe we will score. We walked in, spent a little time moving around the store but were ignored by the two workers immediately upon entering. BTW, this was Sat night 11-1-14 at short pump around 730pm. Two women were working. There were other ladies in the store shopping that we walked past so when one of the workers yelled across the floor "can I help you" I wasn't sure who she was speaking to but my roomie and I were in mid conversation when it was said. Before we could respond the taller of the two ladies cooped a huge attitude and said "excuse me", like she was speaking to a child who wasn't listening! That was the straw that broke the camels back and we left. The taller lady continued to have an attitude for some odd reason. I feel like they felt we were not dressed nice enough to be shopping in there. This woman was just plain rude! My thing is she could have come over and asked us, not yelled at us from behind the counter! There's s thought!! It was the first time I had been in chicos and it will be my last. I have told everyone not to go there and I have a lot of high end clients. They are super rude. I even sent a complaint to corporate!
