They have some high quality brands in their inventory and keep the items fresh for the season and also the prices are decent - especially if you find it by the last mark down. Lots of Lily, Talbots, Anthro, Free People, Coach, and other trendy brand names! Tons of jewelry, purses and shoes and accessories. While I like the selection, this store is extremely cramped and the clothes are so jammed on racks, it's difficult to navigate the inventory. Outside there is usually a sale rack and also some discounted items in the back of the store. The fitting rooms are comfy and roomy, so that's a plus! The wall of jewelry is overwhelming, but in a good way! So many necklaces! Everything is displayed pretty well, there are some racks that hold specific brands not necessarily according to size. Overall, I like this consignment shop, even though I'd prefer to shop in a less crowded environment. Some of the prices are too high, but occasionally I find some good deals here! Rude employees and high prices were the first and only impression I had from this store. It was so unfortunate because I was in the mood to shop and spend some $$. Nearly zero plus sized selection and a crowded and scattered store was just unappealing on so many levels. The women talking behind the counter were bashing the woman that had just walked out (so unprofessional). The shoe selection was low in anything larger than an 8 and it kind of smelled musty. Brought items in. Took pictures of the many shoes I brought in. Then it was my date to pickup what I didn't sell. Three pair of shoes no where to be found. The salesperson said they needed to talk to the owner. Next time I came in they were $50 in my acct. Brought more things in again. Again date to pickup what I sold. Two pants didn't sell. I went through ALL the pants. The pants were no where to be found! Salesperson went over to the pant rack and did a quick look. She couldn't find them. She told me the staff would look into the situation and give me a call back. Many weeks later no word. Went to the store. Sales person said that don't pay out if your clothes are missing. It is the risk of taking your clothes there. Then the salesperson said, "oh they were donated." Now I looked for these 2 pair of pants before the due date! They can't be found! Now they're donated. Indigo is off the hook because it looks like I didn't get my butt in there to get them. P.S. that same day I picked up 2 pair of shoes and a shirt that didn't sell! What a hidden gem! I have died and gone to elite consignment heaven! I'm a consignment snob and if you're a connoisseur of sensibly priced quality items, I'm sure you will be able to find something. Unfortunately, I left empty handed but it wasn't because there wasn't plenty for me, it's because there was too much and I was not expecting all of it! I found a Vintage Christian Dior A-Line Coat that was to die for, but it was too big for me (although my mind is playing tricks on me about leaving behind a great find). The store was not only organized by size, but color as well, happy day! They are having this great sale right now with the best discounts. I forget the two young ladies name's who greeted me and attempted to assist me, they were very nice and accommodating. All the shoppers even seemed very friendly and helpful. This was my first time visiting this little shop with shine, but it definitely won't be my last. If you are looking for some quality threads, you might want to check them out. Here's the skinny... *During the week (M-F) between 10-5, bring in no more than 20 clean current season items to consign. They don't have to be on hangers or dry-cleaned...just clean, neat and organized - whew, already lovin' this place! *Complete some quick paperwork then look around the store while a staff member look through your items to be consigned. The staff member will let you know what items they will take and give you a list of the items taken. *The items will remain in the store for the 60 day consignment period. Full Price the first 30 days, reduced by 30% the next 15 days, and then by 50% the last 15 days. *The best part, if you don't want to let your "favorite sweater given to you by your Aunt Becky" be sold for the lowest price, you can pick it up anytime! This has been great for jeans I was trying to sell, but didn't want to be donated. Yes, Indigo will donate your unsold items to St. Joseph's Villa. The best part, they donate the item in your name, so YOU get the tax credit. How awesome! *Each Sunday you will receive an email if you sold any items and each 15th of the month you will receive a check for any sold items. I have found numerous items to purchase and add to my newly spacious closet. They have lots of Anthropologie, J. Crew, Banana Republic, Nordstrom, Nanette Lepore, Tory Burch, Frye, and other designers. I have even found a pair a Ferragamo pumps for $60! They would have been less had I waited for the price to drop, but I was worried they would be snatched up. They also have a Carytown location. Keep this in mind when selling certain types of clothing...younger/hipper items seem to sell better in C'town and business/older (and by older I mean 30+) items sell better at Ridge, or at least this has been my experience. I split my items between the two stores. I find Indigo to be the best consignment store in the area. They are easy to work with, have a good selection, and price items fairly. So disappointed in this shop. I took a pair of very expensive shoes and when I went to pick them up before the end date, they couldn't find them and told me they must have been stolen. The owner did give me some very minimal money but with a store that advertises 24 hour surveillance, you would think a pair of Jimmy Choos wouldn't just walk away... Add to that the attitude of some of their sales people and we will not be going back. read more

I love this store and like to come here to zone out looking through the many racks they have. Everything is color and size order which makes it easy if you're looking for something specific. They have a variety of styles and I usually end up leaving with something. Staff are friendly and helpful and are generally very knowledgeable about their stock and can sometimes pick out exactly what you're looking for-- but they don't follow you around and ask if you need help all of the time like at big box stores so it's more of a relaxed vibe -- crucial for my retail therapy experience. Indigo Avenue is a gem in Richmond! It's so easy to consign there and the clothes are very reasonable priced. You can find name brand clothes there like J Crew, BCBG, Anthropolgie, and even Burberry! Yet another consignment shop with gossipy employees who talk about customers while working, both out in the open or in a whisper. Whispers make customers wonder what employees are talking about that needs to be whispered! It seems to be an epidemic among consignment shops. The shop has some nice finds and a decent range of items, better organized than many places. But- I am turned off by the way that employee conversations felt catty and gossipy, and I don't want to patronize a place like that. read more

I have shopped at Indigo Avenue many times over the years and always found it to be a pleasant experience. The variety and quality of clothing and accessories is outstanding. I can always find great deals and new exciting pieces to add to my wardrobe. However, my main purpose for writing this review is because of the manager with the blonde hair. I always mean to get her name but get so wrapped up in shopping I forget. She is an absolute asset to this business. She is always so kind and welcoming. Her dedication and passion for this store really shows; from how clean and organized it is to the amazing staff she has in place. Today while shopping, she really made a lasting impact on me. I overheard her conversation with another shopper in the store. The shopper seemed to be at her wits end with her current situation and mentioned how she was ready to just give up. The manager said to the customer; "You can't give up. I won't let you give up. You just can't give up. You can make it through harder things than you realize. Just keep looking for the light." This almost brought to tears and I had to make a B line for the dressing room. It was just so inspiring to watch this younger women supporting and encouraging this older women. Maybe it's because of the current pandemic and all the negative going around currently that this affected me so much, but I was just so moved and inspired by her kindness and compassion. These are things you don't often get to witness in the normal big box retail stores. I am now definitely a customer for life. Not just because it's a great store, but because amazing, caring people work here. I hope this gets back to the owner and she receives the recognition she deserves. read more
