A friend recommended that I try this place out. I had an appointment a couple doors down so I had a few minutes to browse. I was so pleased with some of my findings. This is not the place that you go to with an outfit in mind or a purse or shoes or even a piece of jewelry. This is the kind of place you go when you wanna find a one of a kind item for a small amount of money. This store is filled with all kinds of gems. As a consigner it was a really poor experience. The owner makes it very difficult getting an appointment and all the rules are ridiculous. If you have read her snarky rules to consign you will get the picture of what she is really like. If you decide to consign just make sure that you keep good records and I would suggest a group picture of what you are taking before you go and follow what is sold or not. Don't take anything valuable because I was told if stolen there is no compensation. I would like to agree with everything said on a post by AMY M. A couple of years ago. Wish I had read that before I ever consigned the first time. Amy hit the nail on the head. Your boots "were made for walkin" and if you hadn't been on top of it you might not have seen them again. I heard that sometimes the cloths are used by the owner after being consigned and then put back on the rack or shelf (alledgely). I had a really nice Athleta coat with tags still on that was originally $250 and after a few weeks she returned to me and said it had a place that was torn in the hood. Stopped in for sunglasses, discovered a secret world of treasure through unassuming storefront doors . The FUN vibe, EXCITING finds, and FANTASTIC second-hand prices make this consignment store an instant fave: LOVE AT FIRST SHOP !! The lady working the counter was super friendly and genuinely enthusiastic to represent the business to me on my first visit, like welcoming me to a fancy club. Wowsers! This little eclectic consignment shop has been here since 2014 and I don't know how I've missed it! It's chocked full of UNIQUE clothing items, jewelry, little knickknacks, purses, shoes, all at great prices. I'll have to make this a frequent stop as the inventory constantly changes. One of my favorite places in RVA! This store has something for everyone and everything is pretty reasonably priced. Got a bunch of antique leather goods (Italian leather purse, vintage leather coach wallet, a woven leather belt, and sweater) all for $50! Randy and Bridget were sweet and very attentive. I consider myself a style conscious and expert thrifter, and this beautiful store deserves many accolades!! Not only was the customer service top notch by Annalise, but the store is expertly decorated and organized with lots of great fun styles, both designer and off brands. Not only did I pick up a much needed formal gown for $30, but I also found some funky designer patterned jeans and standard black skinny pants with a dash of style. One of my coworkers spoke about this shop. So while I was out and in the area I decided to stop by and see what this place was all about. And I have to say that it's a great little shop. There's everything in there clothing shoes handbags and jewelry. I definitely plan on going back to shop til I drop. I never write bad reviews, but my experience consigning here was so horrible I feel I need to perform a public service. First off it seemed very strange to me that Jessica, the owner of the shop, makes such an effort to behave as if she is only an employee. I mean it is readily apparent that she has plenty of ego, and it is such a great shop, why wouldn't you puff your chest out little and display some pride in your accomplishment? Now I believe I understand why. I took some of my items in on 2/22/22 and she chose several things to sell for me while behaving the whole time as if everything I brought in was beneath her, and she was doing me a favor by taking what she did. The things she chose included 2 pair of shoes and 2 pairs of boots. I was a little shocked at the low prices she put on these items as I shop regularly on Thred up, Etsy, and Poshmark and know what they are worth, but I let it go figuring she knew her market better than I did. So when my Frye boots didn't sell at the ridiculously low price she had on them and still didn't sell when the price dropped even lower I got suspicious and popped by the shop on 3/7/22. Funny thing, NOT A SINGLE PAIR OF MY SHOES/BOOTS WERE IN HER SHOP. Now correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think it is possible to sell something if you don't display it for sale. I was not surprised at all when I called the shop a week later to ask for my things back, and her employee Sandy was unable to locate them in the shop either. I am not sure if my shoes were in Jessica's closet at this point or stashed somewhere waiting for my consignment time to be over so she could get the full profit from their sale, but something sure is fishy. I did get my things back after waiting an additional week for them to be located. Take my advice and find somewhere less shady to sell your things! read more
