I have not always had the best view or opinion of CrossFit from past experiences over the years,…read moreand even at times I thought it can be too extreme or risky, but the truth is it truly comes down to the trainers of each CrossFit gym and how it's managed....let me just say this gym and its trainers are top notch. They pay attention to each individuals form and make sure the person is doing the right level (beginner to advance) throughout the whole workout. Safety is not on the back burner here. The workouts are great and challenging. In the classes the people help and encourage each other without question. if you want to make small gains over time for big wins in your health, mentally and physically, this is a great place to start.

Before coming to CFOT two years ago, my idea of working out was limited to running, but a foot…read moreinjury forced me to look for alternatives. I had never picked up a barbell, so the idea of CrossFit was both exciting and intimidating. I had no idea what to expect when I walked into this gym, but what I found was so much more than just a building full of equipment. The coaches are so thoughtful and thorough in their approach to teaching the movements, and their corrective feedback ensures bad habits don't linger too long. The community is unlike any other, and the members support each other both inside and outside of the gym. Matt and Alex have done such a wonderful job of fostering a very welcoming environment that truly feels like a family. Bonus: Coach Rachel is also a PT, has an office on-site, and helped me come back stronger from the running injury that originally brought me to CrossFit. If you're considering trying CrossFit, do yourself a favor and call Matt!

NINE Iron Sports athletes made it to Las Vegas NATIONAL Finals. That's 9 out of 86 athletes across…read morethe country. Out of curiosity I looked up how many ninja gyms there are in the US... 191. That means, if every gym was equal, they would send less than 1/2 of an athlete... Iron sports sent NINE! BOOM Do you want to be a champion? You can be one here. If you just want fun, oh my gosh.... when my daughter had her 6th birthday party this year, my favorite part of the entire event was watching the looks on all the parents' faces. Every one of them was beaming. It is FUN watching your kid do this stuff. And inspiring too... cuz guess who started working out??? Me. The coaches are supportive and encouraging. When they see SuzieQ working on something (not in class, just on her own) they whoop and cheer her victories. They say hello when she walks in. She's six, but they say hello. They acknowledge her. That's vital because it builds a sense of belonging.

This gym gave me total life... I walked in and the check in guy asked me if I liked pain (right as…read moreI signed off on the waiver). ... Crazy joke, but my answer was nooooooo.... Anywho, they were nice to escort me to the locker area. It was nice and tidy. Had a ladies shower and a restroom. The gym is a bit laxed, so it started off a bit rocky in that I didnt realize that the class has started without me. We started the class running laps outside. And came in for some heavy stretching and overheas bar work! That's when things got real. Tip no. 1 dont wear gloves, use plenty of hand/climbing chalk. It makes a great difference. Also, when you want to store things in the lockers, bring your own lock! They dont have any there. We transitioned into squats and intense leg work... Woooooooooow (Im still feeling it today). We moves upstairs, where I found a Ninja Warrior's dream. It was everything from Rock Climbing Walls (easy, medium, and hard), to overhead bars, overhead balls (of all sizes). It was aweeeeeeesome!!! The instructors, Sam & Sam, were doubly awesome! They made sure that an amateur Ninja Warrior like me did not feel left out, modified exercises to help me build my endurance and strength, and helped me make sure I did them correctly to prevent injury. We finishes the class by completing an intense ab workout!!! Although I am super sore today, I loved the class and will def be back!
