This was my first time at the Cypress location and everyone was really nice and accommodating. They break it up into a strength session with multiple exercises with weights, bands, trx straps and step bench. Some are done on the floor too. They have mats to use. Rowers are next then treadmill. You can choose what you want to do first. The instructor will lead you through each segment in 2-3 groups. One group on treadmills, the other group on strength. Got checked in and waited for Miguel to start the session. He had the right mix of structure and level of difficulty to keep me engaged. The strength training segment was hard because the heavier weights were used and I had to get used to that. The rowing and treadmill were easier for me. I will come back to his class. He was very good and upbeat and demonstrated the moves. Also offered to walk me around before class which I appreciated. I like the location too, it's nice and clean. Traffic is bad but no way around that.

The first time you meet Elizabeth and Mina you'll feel like they've been family for years! Zumba Fitness with Elizabeth is crazy intense! The funnest workout I've ever had!! She is very patient and really takes the time to make sure you're doing the moves correctly and that you're safe. I love the encouragement she gives to every single person there. She makes it seem like you're the only one in the room. Zumba Toning with Mina is what other "boot camps" can only wish they were. You get weights and dance in a single class. Be sure you take it with the Zumba Fitness and you will NOT be sorry! The Zumba Toning classes are smaller than the Zumba Fitness so you really get the one-on-one training. They are not nice. Nothing is ever said to them. The positives outweigh those special narcissistic humans. Jolie and the front desk will get to know you and it generally there to ensure you have a great day. She works out and will come say hi to you on the floor. I told her as a joke, to tell me to push harder when she sees me on the floor. Well she did. Nicole the trainer is amazing, I see her watch her clients intently and have them work on muscles they did not know they needed to strengthen. Wajih a new trainer will ask you what you are working today and provide a suggestion. Not a hard sales, but he is genuinely intent on you having a best workout. I told him that I like squats but I cave my knees in, his simple tip was spot on. All companies are like families they all are dysfunctional in some ways. People can't be bothered to have their music through headphones 3. people talking on their phones in the designated "quiet area" and staff ignore despite signs literally say "phone free zone". 4. Areas broken for months never fixed. Continued... -ladies exfoliating in the sauna and in the hot tub so gross! -mold on the floor and walls of the hot tub not cleaned for over a year I finally left villa. -blood by the pool and showers not cleaned up for three days! THREE! What are the cleaners doing? Apparently nothing. Even after I pointed it out. -roughly spoken to by a guy who takes care of the area (I assumed) by the indoor lap pool. I was pregnant and hurting and needed my nightly stretch in the pool which is the main reason I paid to go there and I can't use the hot tub while pregnant. Arrived at the same time as usual. There was another person swimming but the man present didn't like women or I don't know but he told me "it's closed" and didn't give me an explanation. I question and shared how I REALLY need to stretch I'm in pain and it's supposed to be open another 40 minutes on schedule and there is clearly another person swimming in front of us, so how can it be closed? He just yelled at me and still didn't tell me why. I have no idea who or why he was there. Cane other days when pool was support he open and they had signs saying closed" when it was supposed to be open. They don't really have a good amount of machines other than tons of treadmills compared to LA fitness. And as others mentioned they stay broken a long time. But I need to work my back and don't use free weights. The hot sauna was broken for MONTHS! And was so unclean inside. I couldn't believe I had been sitting in there. But I'm sure it was due to the lady exfoliating herself and no one cleaning it! It makes me want to vomit thinking of it. I wanted a water yoga class but they didn't have evening classes for me. Only during the day when I couldn't go. For a large expensive place it makes no sense they could not hire for evening classes. Kids area-while I don't trust anyone to watch my kids personally, my best friend had a terrible experience there. Other kids would bully her kids and staff didn't seem to care. She could only take her kids a set limited time during the day so too bad if you can't make that block of time despite the fact you pay twice as much to bring kids you can literally only go when they say you can because pools and splash pads for kids aren't open or are closed constantly. The last straw was her son was arguing with his sibling as siblings do, but it was handled terribly. Instead of going to get her if there was indeed a problem , the staff dragged him down the hallway and when he thought he was out of sight, she saw him throw him on the ground. She happened to have come down for pick up at the time and was following them wondering why he had her son down a secluded hallway alone, He didn't apologize or anything. Terrible way of handling a child.
