I did find one for 60 I love but the shade is too white and it's not a typical cone, so I'm just going to return. I just haven't been able to find lamps. I went online to Lamps Plus and there were some nice floor lamps (pharmacy style) in the 200 range but nothing that really grabbed me. Everything at Luna Rose is tremendous. If I owned a house upstate, I would deck the entire place out in stuff from this very special Hoboken store. The owner has exquisite taste and she prices stuff very fairly, under Manhattan pricing and comparable websites. It's also really nice to shop local. So I found a table lamp for 75 that looks as though a decorator chose it to go with the gray/cream silk and wool rug from ABC basement in Chelsea. It even goes with the old cheap Jenifer love seat with cream and gray strip. That was here before the old tenant, bought by the landlord and while it's not transcendent, it works. Toward the back of the charming store was a floor lamp. It is a work of art. A friend was buying me a TV for my birthday but 5 years I haven't had TV or premium cable in this place as a part-time, non-rent paying visitor. I can live without a TV for another 6 months or whatever. I said I would prefer a lamp and my friend said okay. I will pick it up in Hoboken on Tuesday, when my friend (a Rockette from 1966-70) works. I love the cafe a few doors down and they had a coconut bread pudding I almost brought home. But by the time I was packed and balanced to head back on the ferry with my lamp and two BEAUTIFUL sea foam patterned plush bath towels for just 29 each, I didn't want to stop. For 440, you don't get anything special at Crate and Barrel in the way of lighting. This is my dream lamp and I am so grateful! Most women who come into the store are furnishing luxurious homes in Jersey (Bergen and Essex, I imagine) and you get to see some serious wedding rings. I love diamonds and drooled over one set-up a mid-30s wife wore. You truly want everything in the store: candles, candleholders, pillows, and various high-end tchotchkes for tables, counters, and bathrooms. The pillows truly take your breath away.

The staff was accessible, good with follow through, funny, and very helpful: when they came to do the closet measurements they also helped us with a temporary fix after one of the closet racks from when we moved in had collapsed. The staff person gave us good details on how to maximize space in two crowded closets and led us to have much better organization in our new home. The scheduled installation day took a few weeks before actual installation due to it being a busy season. Still, the closets were completed a couple of weeks earlier than Interior Motif's initial time estimate, which made us happy. We will return here for future closet work and recommend it for others.

Some of my favorites have been the pancake plant that is now 3x the size it was on the day I brought it home, this cool succulent that I have lovingly nicknamed the alien guy, a baby monstera and a cactus that hasn't grown an inch in 2 years, but hasn't died, so that is a win. On my last visit, I got a few leafy plants hanging plants as a gift for someone and when I was checking out I noticed they had those greeting cards that are made with seeds! I thought it was a pretty perfect pair to a gifted plant. The owners and the team working there are always friendly and helpful and answer all of my care questions. They recently added a bunch of pots, propagating vases and plant accessories. They also have fresh cut flowers and can make you arrangements. I haven't done this yet, but my friend that lives in Hoboken gets an arrangement from them every few weeks and they are always so beautiful. It's always such a treat stopping in here!

We had no experience when it came to designing a home, we had chosen monochromatic finishes in the kitchen and bathrooms and all our walls were painted white so we needed finishes and furnishings to add a certain flair and warmth to the space. Our builder introduced us to D & G when we were considering our window finishes. I was never so happy to meet these guys. They are so passionate about what they do.  They very patiently took us through the process starting with a storyboard.  They introduced us to amazing wall finishes - paint, tiling, wallpaper and arranged and supervised all the work that was carried out by painters, electricians etc. They have access to multiple showrooms in the city, which we visited and had great fun choosing different pieces of furniture, lighting, mirrors and artwork. They also take the time to travel to design exhibitions all over the US and overseas to see what's new and exciting - we bought some beautiful Italian and Swiss furniture, which we absolutely love. D&G are connected to the best crafts people; we had fabulous bespoke shelving made and superbly made built-ins for one of the bedrooms... breathtaking!
