Cedar Grove Transmissions & Auto Repair

I have been in close proximity to Cedar Grove Transmissions for about a year now, but never had a…read morereason to visit, until recently. After taking the household car to Garden State Honda for a recall repair and to get a very loud rear right brake checked out, we were told that we would have to shell out over $1100 to get rotors and pads replaced on a 2010 Honda Civic. The dealership used a scare tactic to get us to agree to the repair by forcing us to sign a document stating if we died or suffered bodily harm driving home, it wasn't their issue. Low blow. We were sincerely upset by what we experienced at Honda, so I gave Mike at Cedar Grove Transmissions a call to discuss setting up an appointment. The stress level went from a 10 to a 3 in a matter of minutes on the phone and then in the office. Mike brought me in and we just chatted about the options, quotes, what could potentially go wrong and shoot the price up, he answered all my questions. The transparency between Mike and his clients is extremely rare to come by in any industry, let alone auto and repair. He took the car in the following night and had it done the next day despite him and his teams' packed schedule. The cost of the repair was exactly as quoted and saved us hundreds of dollars. We could not be happier with the service provided. Mike and his crew genuinely care about their customers' concerns and wallet and will do anything they can to ease what can be a pricey and painful process. I will certainly return should any car issues come up and will always refer local friends and family over to Cedar Grove Transmissions. Thank you all so very much! My Transmissions was acting up, so I research for a Transmission Service company online and put in…read moremy information and within minutes N & M Transmissions responded and told me to being my car in right away, so I brought my car in. It was right before Thanksgiving and they took care of my car issue in less that a week, meanwhile I took it to the dealer before hand and it took them a week to tell me what was wrong with my car, they also didn't fix the issue that I took it in for, but instead they took it upon themselves to do other work on the car that I didn't ask them to do and billed me for it, the total cost was about $1,800 dollars and my car was in the same condition that I brought it into them for. To make matter worse, they wanted to charge me $6.800 dollars to replace my transmissions on top of what they had already charge me. A total rip off the deader are especially when the warranty has expired. I had a choice as to where I wanted to take my vehicle for servicing, but I chose N & M Transmissions because it was local to where I live, and I'm glad I did. Not only did they display great technical knowledge about transmissions, but they impressed me with their honesty, a rare commodity with auto mechanics these days. They explained everything to me in great detail so that I knew everything they were doing or planning to do, so there were no surprises. They're honest mechanic, they also told me about some other issues that I had with my car that the dealer should had taken care of. My car has been running great with a little extra power since I got it back from N & M Transmissions. Thanks N & M Transmissions James

MY Personal Experience with AAMCO Franchise Transmission Experts…read more Unacceptable Service and Multiple Attempts. I am deeply disappointed with the service I received from AAMCO Transmissions. While traveling to Florida, my vehicle developed a transmission vibration, and I brought it to a local AAMCO branch for repair. They kept my vehicle for 6 days and charged me above-average price for a full transmission rebuild. Unfortunately, during my return trip to New Jersey, the vehicle began experiencing shifting issues a problem that did not exist before they service it. Upon arriving home, I took the vehicle to my local AAMCO center to resolve this issue, under their nationwide warranty. They kept the vehicle for 23 days, yet it was returned to me with the same shifting problem. I immediately brought it back a third time, and they have now had my vehicle for an additional 28 days. AAMCO heavily advertises that they have highly experienced, certified technicians. However, requiring three separate attempts and nearly two months of shop time to again rebuild a transmission after charging a premium fee of $5,100 is completely unacceptable. It appears that instead of performing a proper rebuild, they attempted to do the cheapest possible patched job. If you're out of state stay away from Amoco. I strongly advise anyone considering transmission work to think twice before using an AAMCO franchise locations. AAMCO customer service is useless.
