Mind you this was 4 days before the car was supposed to be delivered. Now its about 12 hours before my delivery window is scheduled and these psychos message me and tell me after their "rigorous" inspection of my nearly new car they found something wrong and it will be two weeks before i get it. I was told that LoJack, paint protection and some other stuff was put in and could not be removed (after the test drive). Yet shockingly, this 2016 vehicle had a broken side mirror, broken tail light, broken gas cap, and several broken caps and hinges on the interior. The floor was covered in Cheeto crumbs and there were gross greasy fingerprints all over the interior. It looked like it was just used for a family Disney trip and not cleaned. Yet, all of that was ignored in lieu of these ridiculous add ons. I had to ask the sales manager 4 times about the vehicle's accident history before I could get an answer. Ralph C. was very helpful in thoroughly reviewing the New 2018 features and answering our questions. He made arrangements to have my vehicle's trade-in value assessed. Now, mind you, I didn't want to get my hopes up (I still owed 2 years on my 2014). Upon arriving the following evening to pick up my vehicle from service, I inquired about the appraisal. Although my husband and I were impressed with the numbers, we felt we would need to wait a few months until we would be ready to buy the EXACT 2018 Outlander we wanted (the Limited Edition). A Representative who was there for a special New Year's Vehicle Upgrade Program Event came and spoke with us. He listened to our situation and actually found a very surprising way to help us. Since PA doesn't allow dealers to give you 90 days without a payment..... "How about WE cut YOU a check for those 3 months?" Huh?! On top of more trade in, our $1500 Loyalty, .... you are going to GIVE me MONEY to PAY MY first 3 PAYMENT?! Okay..... this dealership was there for us when we were down on our luck 10 years ago when my husband lost his job due to economic issues and I had to stop working after becoming Ill at the same time. Upon my arrival, they submitted a list of additional repairs they suggested be done at once totaling $1141.00. I declined the additional repairs to have the assessment done at my dealership and repair shop where I live. I got an oil change and tire rotation as I always do. Upon returning to Columbus I was on my way to work on 05/18/2026 and heard a pop. Calling my husband, he drove from Columbus to Mansfield where I work to drive my car home for safety. As I followed behind him I could see my wheel wobbling. We turned off the interstate and immediately my entire front passenger wheel came off of the car!!! I had to have my car towed back to Columbus costing me $272. I went to Firestone on 5/15/2026 to have my car checked out. First, they said much of what Jim Shorkey Auto Group stated needed to be repaired was adamantly incorrect. ADDITIONALLY, they stated the reason the lug nuts snapped on my tire was due to the fact that they were improperly screwed on and tightened. They further stated as they did a safety check, additional lug nuts on other tires were improperly screwed on as well and that the improper torque and screwing of the lug nuts was the sole reason why the bolts snapped causing the tire to come off. I ended up having to get a new rotor, wheel bearings, lug bolts, a new disc brake and other costs-- over $1000 for what should have been a simple tire rotation and oil change. I travel 60+ miles to work one way and this could have ended in a bad way. I don't know about their sales experience but from my experience with my repair, AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS. All my statements are true and I have documentation to support my negative experience.
