We left our Outback on Friday afternoon before Easter, drove the complementary loaner car they for provided us to Cleveland so we wouldn't miss time with family we don't see enough, and by Monday morning they had diagnosed and fixed the problem in time for us to get home for the kids' school the next day (the parents were happier than the kids about that). I had stopped to introduce myself last week before bringing my car in for the inspection and she gave me a tour of the dealership which was above and beyond as far as customer service. I was impressed by her friendliness and assistance in getting my service completed. I also had time while my car was being inspected and browsed throughout the showroom. I went for my free inspection this morning and…read moreI was told that my vehicle would not pass because of a left front strut and an exhaust valve cover. this didn't make sense to me because I had just had the starter replaced 3 weeks ago and the mechanic told me the exhaust valve cover was a slight issue but would definitely pass inspection. the cost to fix it was $1100 and they kindly told me I could apply for a gmc credit card and get $250 off this price. I told them no and immediately took the car to another shop. the car passed inspection in less than an hour without any issues! apparently the free inspection is offered so the service department can fleece you when you get there. I will be reporting this to Penn dot and the PA attorney general.

Right after I got off the phone with him the driver, a nice man named Ryan, called me to let me know he was on his way and would be there in about 40 minutes. Not even 5 minutes after that I learned that I learned that I left my wallet at home. I called the dispatch office and told them the situation and that I needed to cancel the tow. I was then rudely told that I had greatly inconvenienced them and that there was a dispatch fee. Ok, understandable. What wasn't understandable was the fee was $50. The driver could not have been 10 minutes out and as traffic was, not far from the office. I asked what the fee included. The dispatch man (same one as before) rudely listed off a list of things. 1. fee for gas 2. fee for the drivers time 3. fee for CLICKING ON THE AD to call them. I told the man that I did not click on any ad and that I found the number online. When I searched for towing companies on the computer the number automatically came up and I called from my phone. He proceeded to tell me that I was wrong and had clicked on the ad and that it cost money to run the ad so I had to pay for it. I told him that I had no problem paying a fee because I did understand that I caused them an inconvenience but that I considered $50 a ridiculous amount. He told me I could pay it or he would call the police. He said that any call for service was a binding contract but I could try my luck with the police. I told him to never mind it because by then 15 minutes had passed and the tow driver was almost there and that I would figure something out. I ended up getting my vehicle towed and had to use my boyfriend's card. At first Ryan told me their card machine was down and that I should have been told that over the phone. (I was not) I convinced him to try it and thankfully it worked. The only redeeming quality of the whole horrible experience was that Ryan was very kind and acomidating. He was able to take $20 off my bill for the horrible service but all in all I would not use this company again.

But when he did arrive, within two seconds of popping the hood of my car he saw that some wires had been chewed through by an animal. He quickly did a patch job to reconnect them and my car was drivable (at least for the time being). We were both tired and frustrated and yet he still went above and beyond and did what was best for me and my car.

Only negative was it took me 2 attempts to get the vehicle. The first car was delayed due to the EV battery failure, but the second time the car was delivered within the agreed timeframe. The gentleman I spoke with was great and genuinely helpful. The woman I spoke with felt more dismissive, which took away from the experience. When I arrived for my pickup appointment, the rep helping me was friendly and handled everything smoothly. He even gave me recommendations for local mechanics to complete my PA state inspection. I had seen reviews saying some vehicles did not pass inspection, so I took mine in right away. It passed without any issues. My appointment was at 9 AM. By 9:30 there were three other clients waiting and only one rep working. It felt like a scheduling or staffing issue, but even with that I was only there for about an hour to an hour and a half. The truck itself was in good shape and matched the listing. The interior was the real disappointment. It was not detailed at all and placing two paper mats in the front row does not count. There was dirt on the dash and in the cupholders. Almost every hard surface has a white residue on it. Having worked in the automotive industry for six years, I would never let a client drive home in a vehicle that looked like that. I will either have to pay to have it detailed or do it myself, which should not be the case Carvana. The process was convenient and the truck was as described, but the lack of interior detailing and some service inconsistencies kept this from being a higher rated experience.

The issue started out with the car having multiple mechanical issues within the first two days. I initially tried to go down in person and contact them but the only thing I received was a door shut in my face and no return phone calls. By the end of May I contacted an attorney as well as a dispute with my bank. Currently the company has made multiple public post saying that they have contacted me and attempted to work things out with me such as offering to pay for the repairs or returning my money but while they have posted this publicly on Facebook I have not received any actual communication from them since May 31st. I have asked them to provide proof that they tried to contact me on their end with a date stamp including but they still cannot provide that information because it did not happen. If you value the safety of the vehicle you are actually leaving with you should definitely buy from someone else don't even bother looking at these vehicles unless you're willing to put your family and yourself at risk. Also if they're able to on pages they will hide and delete reviews and comments that are negative. Make sure you check out their reviews on cars.com as well as their complaints with the BBB and reviews on there.
