Don't buy your meal from here, yhe amount of disrespect given by the employees is unbearable. After watching 7 customers who ordered after me receive their meals I kindly went to the front to ask what is the hold up. I was advised by a male with spikey hair to wait like everyone else, and I said all of those order were after me. He began to raise his voice at this point I stopped conversation and just proceeded to wait until my order was called. I waited a total of 37 mins. The manager on hand was Bill Tran, I do not remember the disrespectful employee with the spikey haired name but im sure the manager does. I would like to see action taken for such disrespectful actions of a employee. Not a single napkin was given and the drink had no ice, I don't know what kind of restaurant they are running here but this is terrible. read more

My husband and I decided to eat here today because we hadn't had fried fish in a while. We ordered our usual the filet of sole dinner and catfish filet dinner, delicious as usual. The surprise today was the gumbo samples we were given while we waited for our order. Can I just say Delicious!!!!! You know everyone can't make Gumbo especially in a fast food atmosphere but this was well balanced and very tasty. We will be back soon for a big bowl. Check it out and say hi to Cha'Arveay the person responsible for the delicious Gumbo. read more

Bad business/Bad ownership, a customer may want to sit down and eat in the establishment however they don't want to sweat and leave your place smelling like fish/fried foods because you either don't have or won't use the air conditioner/ventilation system. I'll never return nor recommend to anyone... read more

Decent seafood for the price place was clean food was delicious and the employees were enjoyable

I have had nothing but great experiences at Fishbone, the fish friars or blackened was great. I usually eat there twice a month. I forget to post a pic, I've eaten it all and then realize I should have posted a pic. read more

Usually order from DoorDash and have always been pleased. But the last order was horrible. Food was unseasoned, condiments inside the food container with top not secure and spilled inside. And potato salad was gross and also inside box overfilled with top not closed. I went to see which location this was to call and saw it was not the location in Gardena I usually order from. Won't order again. A waste of money. read more

Ordered Grubhub for lunch, I like that the menu is uncomplicated. Got the Fish, Shrimp, & Oysters combo and the catfish filet. The food was pretty good with lots of flavor, very impressive. Considering the great quality, the price is reasonable. read more

Hands down this is the best Fishbone. The food is always made with extra love and the customer service is excellent. One day I was in the area I'm like what's Fishbone so stop in and decided to order and the food was great so I told my brother about it and other family members about it and also anyone I meet. Everyone loves Fishbone in Compton, ca. Very clean location unlike the one in Gardena, ca I left out fast and drove extra 10 miles to Compton for better food and customer service. Must visit the Compton location if your craving fish or open to new food. I always said with the way they cook and the customer service they location could've been somewhere in Beverly Hills but I'm glad they put it in Compton to give good food and good customer to people who need it most. Best fish bone ever.... read more

My girlfriend and I came here earlier this evening and it was our first time. We had the fillet sole dinner and the red snapper dinner as well. The staff was as cordial as they could be I guess, as in the cashier didn't go out his way but he did seem annoyed that we didn't know what to order in the beginning. Fast forward he offered us gumbo while waiting for our food. To get straight to the point this food is very "universal" you could say. As in your gma can eat it and won't make her blood pressure too high if you know what I mean . But as a young person I had to dress my fish up in extra hot sauce and lemon. Fries were good and hot. The potato salad was good to try; so was the beans and rice after I added hot sauce it was perfect. And let's not forget those greens!! They definitely tasted like they were fresh out the swamp nothing I could do about those just closed the lid on em . The garlic bread looked good on the pic but it didn't match the bread I ordered. It didn't have a buttery taste just oil and very light. The hush puppies were tasteless and cold. But yea this place is good for people who use EBT, who can't cook or older ppl who don't cook and for people who use EBT...Could be because of location since there's a lot of fish bones read more

Great food... always fresh! Best of the two franchises I've visited. Grilled salmon salad and grilled shrimp salads are A+!

Drove by and was hungry af... Went in and and got a oyster and shrimp po boy and some gumbo.. Best po boy and gumbo I've had in a while.. Now I've become a regular when I drive by running my errands in the area.. The fried fish plate there is bomb too, and you get to pick what kind of fish you want.. It's cool cause all the fush is on ice for you to choose. Almost everything is freshly prepared when you order. Only thing is they close a lil early. There's plenty of parking and the staff there is always friendly and courteous. The buff bald Asian guy there that does most of the cooking is super cool and friendly too. Think he's the manager and when he's the one making your plate or po boy it comes out extra good! read more

The Po Boy with Oyster&Shrimp was pretty special! Jumbo shrimp is a real hit as well as the gumbo. Batter is marinated perfectly. I'd come back to try more sides and other fish selection. read more

Super close to my work site! Service always good and good ALWAYS delicious! Gumbo is BOMMMMMMMMBBBBB!!!!

I give credit where credit is due, not only did management reach out immediately, I hadn't planned on following up but my family wanted seafood, but offered a complimentary meal, I offered to pay, we weren't in the mood for exactly the same order, I also offered to donate a meal to pay it forward but Bill again refused. I asked Bill apologize to the staff if I was rude, I needed to feed my mom so I was super annoyed. We got 1lb catfish fried and 2 gumbos instead of salmon from the previous order. Support this business because they make no excuses for poor customer service!!! That's say a lot to me, we'll return just not on the weekend, ijs read more

Went to franchise expo in Pasadena and fell in love with the pitch. Told me to check out store in Long Beach. I was super excited, pumped up by the chance of owning a franchise until I took a bite of the filet of sole fried fish. So salty, Too Salty. Very Salty. The Shrimp, fried and grilled. TOO salty. Collard greens too. So disappointed. I sent a note to the store and corp office. Suggested a low sodium option be added. I may try another store later. Until then, I am still on the hunt for another future. read more

Unbelievable this place is nasty. I had 6 hairs in my plate. I try to be nice and asked for the staff to replace my plate and the owner came to me and said those were my hairs ! Are you kidding me, unbelievable I dont event have long hair! Incredible the owner of this place is disgusting and a lier. The floors are dirty, I had to contact the health department to have this place inspected and surely health department closed it down.Found roaches under the grills and oil that hasn't been changed in weeks. I will contact the health department every month if I have too so people wont get sick from this place! Ewwww read more

The Gumbo is a MUST TRY. Flavorful with just the right amount of kick. From what I understand this is the only location that even carries it. Also had the grilled salmon plate which was bomb.com, but what made it amazing was the secret sauce. Remember to ask for a gang of it. There's so many flavors it's like a party in your mouth! read more

I am giving fishbone by two stars because the customer service that I received was horrible I had a $100 bill that they were not able to break I told them it was OK and I would walk to CVS to get change I ask the gentleman if he could please start my order as I would be right back. When I came back I stood in line to pay since I had the change the gentleman saw me and then told me to pay then he left and there was a woman in charge. she with extremely Rude I waited for my food for about 30 minutes which only ordered a grilled salmon Shrimp combo The woman after giving me my food never apologize for the length of time it took for the food every other customer she apologized To and offered them free drinks my salmon was very greasy although it was supposed to be grilled I will probably not visit fish bone again in the future read more

If you like seafood this is the place to go in Compton. Had Catfish & Shrimp very tasty and good.

I've been here three times in under a month for lunch. Each time we go, we always order the different selections of seafood. Each dish is seasoned with its own spices which comes out smelling so savory. There are different locations but I like the service here. I recommend the fish, shrimp and oysters combo. Quick service, the best in Compton! read more

Must get the gumbo here. I was amazed at how deep and layered the flavors are. Probably the best gumbo I've ever had.

Was visiting family and decided to take my wife and 3 kids to have some fried fish. Was greeted at the door by the manager Billl and everyone inside treated us like we were family. The customer service was not only above and beyond what we expected but we felt as if it was an experience that made our visit even more memorable. Wow! I cant wait too fly back out so we can get some more of that good fish. The gumbonwas bomb! The kids were licking they fingers and happy they even got cookies at the end. Cant wait to go back! read more

I tried Fish Bone yesterday have it a try... Because I love supporting businesses in my City (Compton). First and foremost Customer service was great!!! Second the overall cleanliness was outstanding... Love the design... Third price was very high especially for fried fish and shrimp when we have several fish markets within Compton that are cheaper plus have a better taste and you get more for your buck... But I personally knew they were going to be expensive because the rent to lease a space in that shopping center is beyond expensive so I get it... Overall try it out!!!! Every business that has been it that same spot has flopped... Wish y'all the best read more

I've been a couple of time and have really enjoyed the food. I even brought a friend with me today for their first. We came on a good day, because they gave us a free sample of the gumbo and a pasta. read more

Omg!!! Got the fried red snapper and I am in love. It's so good cooked perfectly and the garlic bread is to die for!! Definitely worth the buy. : ) read more

We bought two dinners and a side hush puppies. The food was so bland and had no seasoning at all. They could at least use seasoning without salt. After eating one piece of fish we throw the entire plate in the trash my dog didn't even want the fish. Collard greens and red beans are straight out of a can. The was the first and only time I will eat here; wasted my time and money. read more

I ordered from here for my team and I, and no one was disappointed. Great portions and it all tasted so fresh. I will be coming back for sure. read more

This place is an absolute embarrassment to all the establishments in this City. I placed a very large order for a company event in which the Fishbone in Long beach was recommended. Unfortunately they were not open so I had to go to Compton. Let me just say I try not to write mean or degrading reviews , but I can't help but notice the rude, unprofessional service I received after my order was incorrect. I spent nearly $200 at this location, and asked they not bag my food so I can check it. The man behind the counter told me to "Hold up" and kept bagging the food after I told him I needed to check it. I continued checking the food, and the brother behind the counter had the nerves to tell me " Your order is not anymore important than the other people that is waiting". Now what did that have to do with me checking the order? Makes me wonder would it had been different if I walked in with my pants below my knees. It made me even more furious when he insisted my order was correct. Drove all the way back to the event to find the Big bosses food missing along with silverware or any plates. I called the Owner Bill, and he let me know he would get me a meal on the house. Now keep in mind he did not tell me when to come for the meal or to make sure he was there. I called the store today, and one lady was really helpful, even telling me she would reach out to him and ask. Now on the other hand this rude girl from God knows where got on the phone, and was smacking her lips like she answering her private phone. She even handed the phone to the lady I was speaking with originally, and had the nerves to say I can't deal with him now. This place is a JOKE. Funny what society is going through and businesses not caring. Do yourself a favor. Visit an actual Black Owned Business where we know how to treat each other. There is better food, and way better service. read more

This was my first time coming to Fishbone always wanted to try the one in Gardena but never got around to it ... the staff and customer service was like no other. From the time I came in until I left with my order and it was a pleasant surprise. The Catfish was great and they even cut the bigger pieces in half for me .. iot was seasoned and fried great although I usually like my catfish more crispier with less water that was my fault for forgetting to tell them but all in all I'll definitely be bac to Fishbone read more

I rally enjoyed the customer service and the wait time wasn't to bad!! The food was delicious and I'll be back for sure!!!

I went over here since I had a job in the area. I ordered the snapper and shrimp combo and it was good. The employee offered me to try the gumbo since it was mu first time and that shit was bomb as f^*! I had to add the gumbo to my meal. That was one of the best gumbos I had. I will be returning for sure for the gumbo. read more

Spoke with the manager about my order...who gladly replaced with a gumbo....and I must say....the gumbo is great ...highly recommended

Amazing food and even better customer service idk which one I was happier about. DoorDash completely messed up my order and they not only reached out to doordash on their end on my behalf but remade my whole order and had it ready for me to pick up they were so friendly and understanding despite everyone being on edge with this virus going around. It was an amazing experience and I will be. Back for the food and the customer service! read more
