A great way to wind down! Fish has great outdoor seating overlooking the marina. The service and food is extremely quick and everything tasted fresh. I especially enjoyed our assortment of oysters.

Early Sunday dinner temperature 75 degrees with a light breeze....just perfect. 5 minute wait to order but line got to maybe 20 min by the time we sat down. Located just 5 min over the Golden Gate Bridge this place always feels like a Staycation meal for me. Tonight it felt like Hawaii. Started with some oysters and poke and I had the soft shell crab bao tacos. Not a fine dining restaurant but the casual ambiance is always top notch.

The fish and chips were so good! Crispy and fresh fish with tasty potato wedges. We picked some up for take out since the line was really long. Plenty of outdoor seating with beautiful view. Service was friendly and quick

I have been meaning to update my review. Fish is delicious. Pick something from their daily fresh menu. Our recent visit was exceptional. My only gripe if there is one is that when paying with a credit card, the lowest option to add tip is 25%. The food is pricey because it's fresh and you can honestly taste how good it is. So maybe the tip could go to checking in to see if people need more water or an extra plate to share food or to clear tables near you so the birds aren't hovering. That would be five stars.

So good we came back twice over Mother's Day weekend On Friday the wait was 15 minutes, and the food came out quickly. We were hungry and in a rush to get to our boat rental and didn't even notice the specials. We got the red chowder, white chowder, soft shell bao tacos, fish tacos, pasta con vongole, and Louie salad for a group of 5. We took everything to go and had it on the boat. Everything was great especially the white chowder, fish tacos, and soft shell crab bao tacos, except the pasta con vongole was too salty. After looking at the pictures we decided we have to come back on Saturday. On Saturday the wait was 50 minutes, and the line went all the way around the fence. So many of the specials including the whole fish, which we went back for, got taken off of the list while we were waiting...tragic. If you're going on the weekend beware!! We ate in at the restaurant this time as we didn't have a reservation to get to. The outside was pretty hot and there's some seating inside and also in an adjacent room that nobody seemed to notice. We were still able to get 2 specials: rockfish ceviche and dumplings. The dumplings were so good - their homemade chili sauce is sweet and a mild spicy that builds. Rockfish was a bit lime-y, but a delicacy nonetheless. I would definitely come back on a weekday to enjoy the specials again!

Great seafood, beautiful views, and incredibly fresh ingredients made for a wonderful dining experience. The service was amazing, and the ordering process was simple--just pay first and then enjoy your meal. The oysters were definitely the highlight of the visit. If you're a seafood lover, you must try a dozen oysters--they were fresh, delicious, and absolutely worth ordering. We will definitely be coming back again. We enjoyed: * Saigon Salmon Sandwich * Soft Shell Bao Tacos * 1 Dozen Oysters Everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Between the fresh seafood, relaxing waterfront views, and friendly service, this was a fantastic dining experience. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

This is definitely one of the more popular lunch spots in Sausalito, so expect a line -- especially on a sunny weekend. Very casual setup -- you order at the counter first and then find your own seating. Thankfully there's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating so finding a table wasn't difficult despite the crowd. They have a standard printed menu along with a pretty extensive list of daily specials. I ordered the squid (one of the fish specials that day) over a Caesar salad and really enjoyed it. Everyone in my group seemed happy with their entrees too. We also ordered an assortment of oysters to share. One note was that the waitress dropped them off did so abruptly without explaining which oysters were which. Overall, the food itself probably won't completely blow you away, but if you're looking for solid seafood with a great ambiance in Sausalito, this is still one of the better options around.

Pretty long line but we took that as a good sign! Oysters were very fresh and good. We got 5 of each type (3 types). The rockfish chorizo style tacos were very good and seasoned well. Only thing disappointing was the "shoe string fries" which were not shoe string and also tasted kind of stale/not fresh. Service was quick and good as well.

Went on an overcast day so we were able to get seatings for our very big party outside. Delicious chowder, salad and fresh oysters that I got to try! Service was fast!

A fish smash burger and crispy fish taco bao buns? Yes, Fish has expanded their menu including a few new fun offerings that we just couldn't resist while in the area on a beautiful weekend evening. Fish in Sausalito is tucked away and has always been a (if ya know ya know) spot for me, although judging by the lines, the secrets been out :) There's parking and interior/exterior seating by the water ~ bringing the kiddo for this trip, we actually sat inside with a highchair. They also have a kiddo menu, and we ordered the best fish stick (and fries) plate. So hearty! For the level of expense each dish is on the menu, we def never leave still hungry. This is a type of spot where you order at the register, grab your number, and find a seat. The service is great (we had a few spills), and it's just a relaxing place to venture to. The fish smashburger comes with two patties of seasoned trout with white American cheese, pickled onions, and house-made tartar sauce. Yum! Very innovative and quite honestly, the first time I've seen smash burgers with fish! And the crispy bao tacos came with Korean buttermilk fried cod in a Kewpie chili sauce with garnish..delicious. Needless to say, we had a lot of fun! Also ordered a cup of the White Chowder to start. All in all, the fish tastes so incredible fresh here from dish to dish. The ambiance is just right. Love the innovative styles of bringing fish to flavorful menu items. A big win in our book for a 'treat yourself' moment.

I've been to Fish a couple of times, and the food, customer service, and ambiance never disappoint. I especially love how family-friendly it is. My usual order is the fish and chips and a clam chowder bowl--they're always so good. This time, we also tried the crab rangoon empanadas and a poke bowl. Everything came out quickly, and we enjoyed our meal with a beautiful view. I really like that they offer both outdoor and indoor seating, which makes the experience even better. Definitely a go-to spot that I'll keep coming back to!

The wait is always long but that's because the food is that good. They have a regular menu that you can check out while you wait but make sure to look at the specials on the chalk board once you get inside. Everything is good--from the expected fish and chips to ceviche in a sublime kicky mango sauce. It's seafood but with a thoughtful twist, like the trout loaded hot dog or the mussels in a delightful curry sauce. Plates are not skimpy and if it is a nice day you can eat outside at a picnic bench.

After hearing this place STRONGLY recommended by my son, we stopped by at lunchtime. There was a huge line, but it was worth the 15 minute wait. Everything on the menu has a twist or a special ingredient--we had a hard time choosing. The bao tacos were made with crispy soft shelled crab on soft "bao taco shells", and regular fish tacos were a 10. The Saigon Salmon sandwich was incredibly flavorful, and the rockfish ceviche had a perfect kick. Wish we lived closer.

    Yes

    Do they have umbrellas outside?

I’ve not seen many umbrellas, if any. There are two or three tables inside that work of shade is required. Also, late afternoons as the sun sets in the west, the building casts a shadow on part of the outdoor space.

    Are there any Vegan options?

Not really - there's a boring green salad - I'm guessing you could veganize another salad too. Then there's guac & chips, delicious French fries. Additionally they might have a veggie side of the day that's vegan but I wouldn't choose it as a place…

    Do they have lobster?

Unless its a non menu daily special...nope.

My sister was cold and really didn't want to have to sit outdoors so we almost opted for to go food, but ultimately chose to dine anyways, and I'm so glad we did. I'll start by saying EVERYTHING was incredible. From the food down to the service we received. All of the staff we interacted with during our time there were very kind and attentive. For starters, when we arrived, I told our waitress we had a dog and she directed us to a table on their "indoor patio ", so we we're basically sat indoors, which was really nice. We weren't cold at all, and had we been, it looked like they had overhead heaters! We ordered their bread service, the warm trout dip, truffle fries, steak & frites, the burger, mussels/clams, the chocolate tart and creme brûlée. It was all delicious. While eating our appetizers, our poor pup got sick and threw up under the table :( we tried to discreetly clean it and felt really embarrassed. Entrées came out a few minutes later, and while eating our entrées, it happened a second time. At that point, we were ready to ask for the food to go, because we were feeling so thoroughly embarrassed. As I started cleaning the vomit a second time, our kind waitress came over and told me she would take care of it. I apologized repeatedly, and we felt sooo bad. She was so kind, and gracious towards us, telling us it was okay. I never got her name, but I wanted to let her know just how much we really appreciated her assistance and for not making us feel worse about what had happened. The way she handled the situation, was the epitome of dog friendly service. I'm not sure why our pup was so sick at the restaurant. My guess is he may have swallowed some water while playing at the beach. I just really wanted to express my gratitude for you all allowing us to enjoy a nice meal and continuously treating us kindly and respectfully after our poor boy got sick in your restaurant. Thank you again! If you're looking for a restaurant with delicious food, great ambiance and even better service, THIS IS IT

There was something indescribable, though, that hinted that they rely on the picturesque views to make up for food that is "good" - but not "great." Let's start on a positive note. You can't beat the view. Our server was well informed about the menu, attentive, and friendly - but unwilling to help too much with the menu selections. "Everything is good" is a bit of a pet peeve of mine but I'm not holding this against the rating of this restaurant as that's pretty server-specific. We started with a half dozen local oysters on the half shell which were actually amazing. Perhaps the most mild tasting oysters I have ever had and served with a champagne mignonette, cocktail sauce, and fresh horseradish - all of which paired nicely. For my main course, I had the petrale sole - a very mild, delicate, Pacific flatfish. While flaky and tender, it did lack flavor and was served with some relatively uninspired accompaniments - a saffron rice and some roasted vegetables which was mostly green beans and celery. One of my friends ordered the paella which he said was "great." Overall very decent experience on par with so many other coastal restaurants that know they can fill the seats with the amazing views alone. I would definitely come back - but would likely order something different... except for the oysters - those were a must to order again!

This is definitely on the more expensive side, but for a special lunch or a first-time visit, we felt it was worth it. The quality of the food, the atmosphere, and the location made for a memorable experience. The only service issue we experienced was at the beginning of our meal. It took approximately 15-20 minutes before we received water, and guest ( they knew pretty well ) arrived after us appeared to be served immediately by 3 different servants with water and wine. We felt a bit overlooked and unwelcomed during that time. However, I do want to give credit to our waiter, who recognized the delay and apologized, which we appreciated. One additional surprise was being charged $2 for hot water with lemon. As someone who does not drink iced water, I often order hot water with lemon and have never been charged for it before. On a lunch bill approaching $150, that charge felt unnecessary and a little unwelcoming. It certainly wasn't about the $2 itself, but rather the principle of it. That said, the food and overall experience were excellent. I would not take any stars away because this place is truly a gem with delicious food, gorgeous views, and a welcoming outdoor dining area for guests with dogs. Highly recommended, especially for visitors looking for a memorable waterfront dining experience in Sausalito.

The interior of the restaurant gives a totally different vibe than outside. We got seated fairly quickly and our server was very friendly and gave great-sounding recommendations. My lady and I ended up ordering the Curried Cashew Ling Cod, Lobster Fettuccine and Calamari Fritte. We couldn't find any pictures on Yelp on the fettuccine since it was a special so we definitely wanted to try it. Everything was very delicious with my only concern was wishing the cod had a little more flavor. To me it tasted a little plain but everything else was amazing. Definitely a nice little cozy spot and I'm glad my lady and I visited.

As usual, we ordered a salad, a pizza, and a pasta to share family style. For the salad, we had the pesca with the fresh peaches and goat cheese; I think this was my favorite item. We had the pizza with the figs and the tagliatelle as our other two dishes. Both the pizza and pasta were good, but neither stood out as "must reorder" items. For the cost, the portions were not huge, so it as a very light lunch. No matter, there were plenty of ice cream shops nearby for a dessert topper! It was nice that they gave us carbonated water for the table at no extra charge; most restaurants only offer still water. Service was a bit slow, but we were in no hurry, so it was fine. Food and service were good enough that I would return the next time I'm in Sausalito.

The perfect ending to an unforgettable day!…read more After an incredible bike ride across the Golden Gate Bridge, we were absolutely starving and decided to stop at Poggio Trattoria. It turned out to be one of the best dining experiences of our entire Fourth of July weekend! A special thank you to Maria at the front, who welcomed us with such kindness and found us a wonderful table on the beautiful outdoor patio. It was the perfect place to relax after our ride and soak in the lively Sausalito atmosphere. Our server, Christie, was exceptional. My husband has celiac disease, and I have multiple food allergies and sensitivities, so dining out can often be stressful. Christie listened carefully, answered all of our questions, and made us feel completely comfortable. Her knowledge, patience, and attention to detail allowed us to simply relax and enjoy our meal. The food was outstanding! Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. It is such a gift to find a restaurant where delicious food and excellent allergy awareness go hand in hand. The patio atmosphere was everything you hope for in Sausalito...beautiful weather, people enjoying the holiday weekend, and the perfect setting to celebrate after an unforgettable ride across the Golden Gate Bridge. Great food, outstanding service, and genuine hospitality made this one of our favorite meals of the trip. A heartfelt thank you to Maria, Christie, and the entire team at Poggio Trattoria. We can't wait to return the next time we're in Sausalito!
