So this is a cool little place close to the airport. They seem to have very fresh menu items and a lot of different variety. I found the food to be OK. There was nothing outstanding I have been here about four different times every time I leave feeling like the food is ok but not outstanding. If you're looking for a quick lunch I recommend stopping in here for something fresh and something different. It is a cool venue they have a live stage and I'm sure that when the band is playing at night this is an awesome place to be at. They seem to have a large drink menu and lots of different options for the party scene. I have only been here for lunch and I have been pleasantly surprised every time I've been here. I ate here since it was so convenient while staying at the La Quinta Inn. The service wasn't bad as some other reviews indicate. I went for an early dinner, seated myself and didn't have to wait long to be served. I got the free soup with the Yelp check in. It was decent. I followed it up with the alligator appetizer. It was completely overcooked and under spiced. I really like alligator and was very disappointed. For dinner I had the blackened mahi tacos. They were pretty good. This is a local hangout and the bar was full at 4 in the afternoon. The big problem I had is the indoor and outdoor bar is connected through an open wall. It looks nice but it seems everyone in Florida smokes, maybe cause cigarettes are only $5 a pack. Anyway, the smoke drifted right into the restaurant and kinda ruined the meal. This place was a great find for lunch. The staff was pretty friendly and timely with their food service; I had asked for their recommendation for lunch and they referred me to the Mahi Mani Reuban, which was a great choice. The meal I had was delicious. Overall, I give this place 3.5-4 stars. The best thing about this place is the staff and how fast they were able to get the food out for lunch. If I could give this place zero stars, I'd definitely do it. It's a somewhat busy place and instead of having a hostess seat you, you're supposed to seat yourself, no big deal, I've done that before. Between that, Dave's coleslaw and a few of his fries (I love when they leave the skins on) and the garlic bread, I only could fit half the house salad, which was very good with a light handed application of vinaigrette (the way it should be, in my opinion) bits of olives, celery, tomatoes, red pepper and red onions. If you have fresh catch from a charter this is the place to go. Call ahead and make reservations. They accommodated a party of 13 and prepared our catch 5 different ways. They also gave our choice of 2 sides. All of this only cost 15 dollars a plate. To say it was delicous is an understatement. Full house!!! We went one night to see our friends band play and the house was full!!! We actually had to stalk a outside table to be able to sit down and eat. I ordered the shrimp basket with a salad and coleslaw and garlic bread. The shrimp was overloaded. I thought being a "basket" it would just be a few pieces but nope, it was more than expected and delish! The salad was good for a salad... and the coleslaw was very tasty! (just right!) For the price of the basket it was a great deal! Being outside you can still hear some of the music from inside. We had so much fun at Fish on Fire! We came on someone's recommendation. It's basically a bar that serves seafood. DELICIOUS seafood! Everything was fresh and hot. We ranged from smoked fish dip, fried shrimp baskets to blackened grouper. All four in our party gave the food two thumbs up! The fun came when we found out there was a trivia night. We were staying at the La Quinta next door, so we walked across the parking lot to Fish In Fire. I like local flavor and had read most, if not all, the reviews on Yelp. We received our complementary cup of clam chowder, but the waitress initially said she'd have to take our phones to the manager to prove they were, in fact, free with Yelp checkin! Ok, if she was a new waitress, but it appeared she'd worked there for some time. Luckily, she changed her mind about taking the phones, because, as she said, they trusted her. I agree with other reviews, it tasted like canned clam chowder, not bad, just nothing special. I ordered the fried shrimp, and our server suggested I get it in "sweet fire sauce", which was "not very spicy". It wasn't spicy; it was sweet. Actually, it tasted like Panda Express Sweet Chile Shrimp. Edible, but not repeatable. My husband ordered the Shrimp Creole. We've had lots of shrimp creole, but it was never in a white cream sauce. I thought perhaps he'd been served the Bayou Sauce Shrimp, which was described as having a creamy sauce. She said no; the Bayou Sauce was like a brown gravy, which describes what we know as Shrimp Creole. Sides: I had coleslaw (ok) and flavorless red potatoes. They weren't advertised as flavorless, but that's the best description I can give. Hubby had a veggie medley with the creole, and I ate the green beans, which were ok. On to dessert. We had key lime pie, which was made in-house. It was ok, with a nice graham cracker crust. Not much flavor, and the cool whip-type topping was heavy, not fluffy. I read that there might be noise and smoke outside, possibly bleeding into the restaurant. Well, down is up and up is down; the smoke and noise was when we opened the door. We sat outside, and it was ok. So-the entire experience wasn't bad. If we had to stay at that La Quinta again (and I hope we don't), it's possible I would eat there again. read more

We both got blackened grouper sandwiches with crab soup. The fish itself was great-- a pleasant surprise. However, the buns seemed to be cheeseburger buns from McDonald's (actually next door, so it doesn't seem all that far fetched). The soup was also most definitely out of a can. My colleague said it reminded her of why she grew up hating soup. Not a good thing. We each finished with a key lime pie--average, but good. It's a great place to stop in for a casual bite to eat. Ok so I really want to like this spot. The atmosphere is very "beach bar" it's got a great outdoor patio, and full bar inside. It's kind of an indoor/outdoor restaurant. It's definitely not a nice spot, but a good local hangout filled with Regulars, friendly staff and decor all over the walls. They have live music on the weekends, and good specials, they also team up with local stations and do some pretty awesome giveaways throughout the year! The food that I've had there has been ok, nothing too spectacular but decently priced. My last visit I got the fish sandwich and was impressed with the amount of fish I got!
